How do you ✨️play✨️ throughout the day? A made up song to sing to the mailbox! A race to set the table for dinner! Jumping over the cracks in the sidewalk! To add some fun to our handwashing, we've been pretending to be the little germs in between our fingers and under our nails. Just some germs going about our regular germ-y business. But then the sound of rushing water...the threat of soap suds...gulp! It's over for us! We're done for! There are equal parts bubbles and giggles every time we wash up. #intentionalliving #familyculture #slowliving #goodatwaiting #intentionalparenting

"The truth is that motherhood is a hero’s journey. For most of us it’s not a journey outward, to the most fantastic and farthest-flung places, but inward, downward, to the deepest parts of your strength, to the innermost buried core of everything you are made of but didn’t know was there. And what I’ve learned is that there’s a reason motherhood as a story is so infrequently told. It’s because, for so many people, our safest, sweetest, earliest memories are of nestling in our mother’s lap, in her rocking warmth, hearing her sing as we get milk-drunk and sleepy and burrow, heavy-eyed, into the crook of her soft arm. And if you knew that your mother’s journey was, intrinsically, a hero’s journey — if that was in any way an established narrative in our culture — you’d have to accept that this memory of womb-like safety, this foundation upon which so much of our identity is built, was often just an illusion. You’d have to realize that while you were blissed out on your mother’s lap, one of those epic battles, the kind that envelops heroes as they fight their way out of a ring of fire, was raging just above your head. No one wants to believe that in the moments you felt the most peaceful, the woman cradling you so softly was shielding you from a sword that she herself was holding." (From Jessi Klein's short essays on motherhood, "I'll Show Myself Out") #intentionalliving #familyculture #motherhoodjourney #motheranddaughter #goodatwaiting

It’s as simple as stepping outside together & voila! Beautiful memories are made🤍 Whether it’s gardening together, going for walks, playing yard games, reading a tale aloud, creating a course with sticks to chase each other around on, or “scrubbing” cloths in our wash basin… I love any time I get to be with my guys, especially when we’re out in the elements together!

👉🏼 What is one way that you and your spouse lead together in your home? 👈🏼 Do you gather together, focus on health together, study together, learn together, adventure together, cook together? As leaders in our homes, there are powerful lessons our children can learn from what we as parents do together. The same goes for what things do we do together with our kiddos. Being at the temple with my kids in just as important as my kiddos seeing Jared and I going to the temple both individually and together. Saying you should work out and take care of your health is one thing. Taking care of your health, doing the work, even if it's small things at a time, is where there power actually lies. If you're flying solo as a parent right now for any reason, you are just as powerful as a leader. As parents, we can say all the things. 🗨 But trust, relationships and lifestyle are built by DOING the things we say. 🗝 Our kiddos, young and old are watching. They know when you are just saying things and they know when you are living what you say. Today, take a step back. Evaluate where you are saying versus doing. As a developing leader in your home, what is one thing you can DO this week to align with what you say? Drop it below! 👇🏼

Hey, parents! As you guide and nurture your children, remember that you're not just teaching — you're also learning and growing alongside them. Each day presents new challenges and opportunities for BOTH you and your child to learn and develop together.🤝 . . What's one valuable lesson you've learned from your child recently?

Compassion 🌟 Grace If you are in any of our programs you will here me use the terms "compassion and grace" soooo often. Why? Because compassion and grace are defining attributes of Jesus Christ. And they are attributes any and all of us have the ability to foster as we strive to become more like him. What does a family culture of compassion make possible? Growth... Love... Friendship... Forgiveness... Strength... Confidence... and so much more. 🌿 When we bring compassion into our homes, we listen more and talk less. We love more and judge less. Compassion builds connection. It builds an environment where you are allowed to grow. This week, teach your family about the word compassion, And challenge yourselves to perform random acts of kindness as a family. Whether it's helping: - a neighbor - volunteering at a local charity - simply lending a listening ear to someone in need - helping some local elderly people you know And then check in... How was you family before, during, and after that act of compassion? #FamilyCompassion #KindnessMatters #EmpathyInAction #SpreadLove #FamilyValues #corevalues #relationships101 #alignedliving #christianfamily #familyculture #familyfirst #christianwomen #corvalueliving #parentingtips #homeschoolingmomma #homeschoolfamily #churchofjesuschrist #prioritizeyourmarriage #storyoffaith #homeschoolcurriculum #legacybuilders #churchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #goodparenting

HOMESCHOOL JOURNAL ENTRY ✨️ Reflecting back on what I learned this school year... This question is too loaded for a single post, can I get an "Amen"? 😄 What didn't we learn this year? This year I read "Home Education" by Charlotte Mason and it brought so much clarity and vision to my parenting, homeschooling and personal life. I had another year to learn to sit back and remember that LIFE IS EDUCATION. All of their life - habits, daily contributions, math facts, free reads, etc - make up their life. This is a continual reminder not to get hung up on trying to "complete it all" because everyday no matter what they're doing, they are doing all they need to do. I saw my kids stretched farther than ever in riches & responsibilities, and they rised (not always willingly) to the occasion so I know that they can be stretched to greater ideas, literature and maturity; and so can I as a Mom. A little better everyday for God's glory. (Eph. 2:10) Having a clear timetable versus a rhythm was VERY helpful for our homeschool day. Does this mean we stuck to it verbatim? No, but we had a visual rubric for our day which brought clear communication between the kids and I. Adding in another kid to our school day this fall with this knowledge will be so helpful! Thankful we made the time to be with friends. You can do this too, whether that's hosting them over, being part of a co-op or group of families, field trips, or regular nature hikes -- these will be some of the sweetest memories! Oh and practically speaking...any pre-reading I want/need to do I have to do in the summer, otherwise it isn't happening 😅. Those are just a few! ❤️🌸✨️ I would love to hear your biggest takeaway from the year below! 😌 #tuesdayhomeschoolfriends @organized.homeschool.mom @arrowsforchrist @my_four_little_bears @setaparthomeschool @shantelshomeschool @aroundtheworld_homeschool @themushymomsfiat @beautyof_homeschool #homeschool #charlottemason #homeschoolingmom #familyculture #childhoodunplugged #lifeisbeautiful #homeeducation #homeschoolfamily

What would happen if you intentionally built your life around things that bring you joy? What if you actively sought to bring things into your life, your family, your learning that fed your soul? Yes, to some these are "just eggs". But it isn't about the eggs. It's about the life, the work and the dreams the represent. They're a little part of me and a little gift from God who knows me so perfectly. He knowns Beth would need pretty eggs to keep here going on hard days. He knew Beth would need to hear and see the chickens and laugh at their antics. He know Beth would love those baby chicks and want a million little chicken babies running around. And He knew I would find so much joy in watching my babies play with those little chicken babies they raised. He knew I would love watching my kids learn to take care of, respect and raise something God created. He knew I'd love watching my kids how to cook breakfast and bake and sneak the dog eggs off their plates. And that's what I see each time I collect "just eggs". They're so much more than that. They're a part of who we are and who we are raising our babies to become. 🥚🐣🥚

This was little man's first CGM. 🙊 That was almost 10 months ago... It's hard to believe we are just weeks away from our year mark as part of #t1dnation and joining the ranks of a family who battles the unknown rollercoaster of life with a disease like diabetes. This last year and a half has honestly gone any way but how I thought it would. There was SO MUCH change. But none of it would be traded. Because this is who we are. We are a family who loves hard, lives hard and dreams hard. And God knew exactly what we needed to get here. Today as I reflect I'm grateful for a Heavenly Father who knows. And I am grateful for a family who continues to grow. We're the Hansons. We are a t1d family and so much more. And we are so glad you're here! 🙏🏼

All the time that must’ve taken!! AND! She didn’t know it, but I was having a rough mothering day that day (whew, baby days feel like they highlight all my weaknesses!!)… and then there was just this beautifully meaningful gift on my doorstep. She is one of the kindest souls I’ve ever known, full of so much love and endless generosity. Such a gift it is to know her❣️and now every time I see that blanket it will fill my heart with smiles for all the kindness & love that went into creating it for my Theo🤍

Endearment series, comin’ atcha. I LOVE feeling endeared & I’ve been feeling it a lot lately🤍 It is such a rewarding emotion to experience & fills my heart to the brim with love for others. The more I look for it, the more I experience it. The other week we went to a local farm & got a personal tour of the land, saw all the beautiful animals, went into their milk parlor(!) where he showed us how he milks the cow, eye-candied their lush garden, pond, beehive, and orchard.. I mean, wow!! This husband and wife knew what they were doing, and were sooo generous to not only take the time to show us around, but answered questions, and generously shared yummies from their garden, fresh eggs, and a huge glass jar of raw milk from their {A2A2!} cow, freshly milked the night before!!! OH my goodness. I couldn’t help but hug them at the end. They felt like long lost friends who were so down-to-earth & filled with so much wisdom, I almost didn’t leave! ;) Farmers are some of THEEEE best folks out there❣️ They hold the skills and knowledge that are so useful - yet lacking - in the world right now. I could learn SO much from them. I think we all need farmer friends & mentors!🤍

🤔 What does it mean to embracing Courageous living? 🤔 COURAGE: the quality of being ready and willing to face negative situations involving danger or pain. "A close synonym is bravery. Showing courage is often thought of as facing such situations without fear, but it also involves facing them despite fear." - Dictionary.com Courage in leadership doesn't mean we aren't afraid. As a parent, there are fears that we all feel: fear of the future, the unknown, our children's choices, the influences on them, what they'll learn, if that is the right choice, what we should eliminate at home... the list goes one. Being an example to our children and having them see that you might be scared or afraid but doing it anyways, shows them that they can do that too! 🛡️We don't need to be the perfect parent, the perfect leader. Our favorite leaders weren't perfect either. But they still impacted our lives in powerful ways. Has someone you known been a good example of COURAGE to you? Tell us who and what their example means to you! #Courage #CoreValues #FamilyCulture #Bravery #StandUpForWhatIsRight #FacingFears #Empowerment #StrengthInAdversity #BeFearless #LiveWithPurpose #corevalues #relationships101 #alignedliving #christianfamily #familyculture #marriagecoaching #christiancouple #legacybuilder #homeschoolcollective #marriagecoach #familyfirst #christianwomen #corvalueliving #writeyourstory #familyleadership #parentingtips

"Wealth doesn't change a person. It's magnifies the character of a person. If you were greedy before wealth, you will be gready with wealth. If you are generous before wealth, you will be generous with weath." This week I was talking to a friend who was experiencing some really hard things in her life. We talked about this quote and how it isn't about our money, it's about our character. The same can be said for trials... Opportunities... Relationships... And more. Life's experiences have a way of magnifying who we are at our currently level, our soul deep level and give us the opportunity to decide if we are on the right track in working towards who we are trying to become. We are meant to progress. We are meant to learn. We are mean to grow and develop in knowledge, habits and personality... no matter the circumstances of our lives. What is one area of your character you'd like to develop more o or one habit you'd like to shift? Sleep, social media, food, mindset? We all have one. For me, it's time management. I've been working on it for years and while I am still late to church 90% of the time, I am making improvements 1% at a time and by golly, one days I am going to figure out this being on time to church thing! What's something you'd like to work on? Drop it below and let's brainstorm ways to start moving towards that needle 1% at a time. 👇🏼

🛑 How does it feel to be ignored? 🛑 Not great, huh? Ignoring someone or not including someone is one of the fastest ways to chip away at the foundation of any relationship. As leaders, it's our responsibility to empower every member of your family by involving them in decision-making. Parents have the ultimate responsibility to make the decision that is best for the family. BUT, if we aren't involving the family, we are missing out on so many opportunities to get to know then and learn what they really are in need of versus just what we think they need. When everyone has a voice, it fosters a sense of belonging and ownership in creating your family's unique culture. Not sure where to start? TRY Having Family Meeting Time 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Gather your family for a regular meeting where everyone can share their ideas, concerns, and preferences even if it is for 15 minutes a week. Doesn't seem possible? Load everyone up in the car, leave all the devises at home, grab a notebook and drive for 15 minutes!!! You think I am kidding but I am not. It's been a starting point for many couples and families I've worked with, talked to and taught. Together, decide on upcoming activities, household rules, goals or any other decisions that impact the family. Encourage open communication and mutual respect for each other's opinions. And then, plan out how you can support one another as a family. There WILL BE GIVE AND TAKE. But if you value a member of your family even if you don't enjoy musicals or want to spend a week camping in the summer, schedule it in and be there. When people listen to, are genuinely interested in, and show up for people, people feel loved. And relationships change forever. 🫶 #FamilyMeeting #SharedDecisionMaking #OpenCommunication #FamilyBonding #FamilyUnity #CollaborativeDecisionMaking #Empowerment #FamilyCulture #UnityInFamily #FamilyFirst #Collaboration #FamilyValues #TogetherStronger #DecisionMaking #FamilyBond

Born at home, blessed at home, *will be* educated at home! Everything centers from home! I hope we can continually create an environment for him to feel loved, confident, thrive, and learn + develop deep roots in divine truths which will help him know his true identity (a beloved son of God!!) and purpose/direction in life (to follow the Savior’s ✨covenant✨ path back to his Heavenly Home, where eternal families exist!). We love our Theo so much & are forever grateful he’s part of us 🤍

Anyone else have kids who watch amused when you start to cry during a good book or movie? 😂 I’m re-reading a favorite book series with my kids right now and when I read this line this morning, I could NOT help but cry through it. “Thank you for loving us, Mother and Father. Thank you for preparing us for the unnumbered dangers we’ve faced. We had no idea that when you gave us all the light you did, you were guiding us to one day strike out at the darkness so fiercely.” This is what we’re meant to do as parents. The way we love them, the culture we cultivate within our relationships, the life-giving ideas that furnish the walls of our collective imaginations. The meals we share together and a hundred other ways we anchor our days in love, truth, goodness and beauty. Don’t lose heart. What you’re doing matters. What you’re cultivating in your own heart, the way you keep getting back up, the way you fight for the vision of family beating in your chest. Keep shining. It’s impacting them more than you know. #raisingarrows #home #familyculture #familytime #livingbooks #livingideas #imagination #shinebright #motherhood #spiritled #parenting #holyordinary #practicepresence

When you love what you do, everyday is a gift. Not only do I love what I do, I love the team that I get to do it with! And I’d say there’s no greater gift than a visit from our Senior VP Denise Hardin, VPA Preston Love and SL. Dan Sevier. Sad that Ayanna was sick and Edgar well Edgar is remote. Appreciate my team for all that you do and leadership for the open dialogue! #familyculture #purposedriven #transparencymatters #insurance #statefarmagent

One of my favorite ways to encourage learning is to open one of our many books & write and/or draw what stands out on the page. It is so fun to see my boys art, and it’s incredible how this small practice increases not only their ability to draw, but to truly absorb information & practice awareness + observation! The more we do this, the more natural it becomes and the more they WANT to bring their sketchbooks around with them. Total win! I wish I could’ve doodled my way through my educational experience without getting in trouble for it! ;)

🌟 What is a core value you love receiving? 🌟 Chances are, when you feel respected, you are more inclined to want to build that relationship. Same goes for others including our spouse and children. Teaching our families the essence of respect goes beyond mere words—it's about instilling a deep understanding of the inherent worth of every individual. Let's nurture a culture of respect, consideration, and appreciation for the individual strengths, gifts and journeys within our homes. 🏠 #CoreValues #Respect #FamilyValues #Inclusion #DiversityMatters #Empathy #Unity #TeachRespect #FamilyCulture #ValueEveryIndividual

How can you create a family altar in your home? The first step in making a family altar is choosing an ideal location in your home. Try to find a place that everyone regularly passes by each day. It shouldn't be in the way but you'll want it in a prominent place that offers an aesthetically pleasing way of displaying your Christian symbols. In our home, we chose our entryway location for our family altar. It's an area that we all pass through regularly, and it also serves as our home’s first point of contact with our visitors. The cross is the focal point when you enter our home, which sets the stage for the hospitality we intend to provide. ➡️ Read more about how to create a family altar in your home in our blog post at the link in my bio #christianfamily #familyaltar #christianmom #christianparenting #familyculture #christianhome #intentionalparenting #faithandfamily #faithfulparent

I grew up in the Philippines and never once questioned my parents' income. It was never a discussion. We didn't eat a lot of fast food because it was considered a treat, not a food group. We ate homemade meals like adobo, paksiw, sinigang and vegetables - eat what’s on the table! We grew up during a time when we pulled white hair from my grandma, babysat, helped with chores to be able to earn our own money. We by no means were given everything we wanted. We went outside a lot to play, ride bikes, run with friends, play hide and seek, spent precious times with our cousins, and we went swimming for free on nearby rivers or sea. We rarely just sat inside. Bottled water was unheard of. If we ever had a Coke, it was in a glass bottle, and we didn’t break the bottle when finished. We saved it and cashed it back in at the shops for a sweet. After school, we came home and did homework and chores, before going outside or having friends over. We would ride our bikes for hours. We had to tell our parents where we were going, who we were going with, and we had to be home when the street lights came on! You LEARNED from your parents instead of disrespecting them, and treating them as if they knew absolutely nothing. What they said was LAW, and you did not question it, and you had better know it! We watched what we said around our elders because we knew if we DISRESPECTED any grown-up we would get a real telling off. It wasn't called abuse, it was called discipline! We held doors, carried the shopping, and gave up our seat for an older person without being asked. You didn't hear swear words on the radio in songs or TV. “Please and Thank You" were part of our daily vocabulary! The world we live in now is just so full of people who hate and disrespect others. Consider re-posting if you're thankful for your childhood. I will never forget where I came from and only wish children nowadays had half the chance at the fun and respect for real life we grew up with! And we were never bored! #FilipinoFamily #PilipinoPride #IamPinoy #PinoyAko #familyculture #beliefs #familyislove - Financial Talks

How healthy is your family culture? Take a moment to reflect: 🤔 Do you handle disagreements and conflicts respectfully within your family? 🤔 Do your children accept accountability for their behavior? 🤔 Are mistakes and discipline viewed as opportunities for growth and learning? These questions are key to understanding the health of your family culture. The next time you gather around the dinner table, spark a conversation with your kids. Ask them how they would describe the culture within your home. Their insights can offer valuable perspectives and open the door to meaningful discussions.

I was speaking at a homeschool event yesterday and had so many women excited about what I was saying but their biggest question was asking how to get your husbands on board. Ladies…it starts with Jesus. It always starts with Him. He is the most pivotal person in your life, your husband’s life, your marriage, and your family. He is the way, and the only way. And if this is so far away from reality, then you begin by praying and being the example first. God created men to be the head of the household and the leader of your family. Let them rise up to that occasion which might mean that you take a little step back here and there to allow space for him to grow into this important role. • We are going to talk about this on a future podcast episode hopefully sooner than later! • • • #parentingpodcasts #parentingpodcast #parenting #podcasts #consciousparenting #parentingsupport #motherhood #growingkindkids #parentinginspiration #children #modernparent #moms #amothersjourney #joyfulparenting #peacefulparenting #raisingthenextgeneration #momtribe #familyculture #motherhoodunplugged #podcast #parentingtips #podcastersofinstagram #homeschool #podcastsformoms #familyschool

🛑 STOP SCROLLING 🛑 🌟 Want to really start building those relationships at home? Let me introduce you to the idea of... REGULAR CHECK-INS! 🌱✨ Friends, this does NOT have to be a sit down interview with your three-year-old. That's not what I am talking about. If you home is anything like mine, well, I am sure you can just imagine how unproductive that would be! It'd be, well, the opposite of productive. Ha! Man, even my nine-year-old would be frustrated! What I mean is be INTENTIONAL about CREATING TIME with each and every family member, from your baby to your spouse and yes, don't forget the middle child, regularly and consistently... Don't waste time when you could be building relationships, checking in, and really knowing those you love best. This can look like helping the child with dishes and LISTENING to them. It could be no radio or phones in the car + HAVING A CONVERSATION instead of lecturing. It could be surprising the teen and checking them out of school for a one-on-one lunch. There are so many ways to prioritize time and open communication + connection by giving each family member a voice... an uninterrupted voice. We try to do both a mix of random and set times. Sunday, we go over the schedule + make sure everyone has a chance to share! At bedtime, we check in with the kids. What's going on, what do they need? What's hard for them, what are they curious about? The rest is completely random but it's intentionally not wasted. 💬 Don't forget... Consistency is key to building a strong family culture! 💪 Let's get started! #FamilyCheckIn #ConsistencyIsKey #BuildingBonds #FamilyCulture #CheckIn #CommunicationIsKey #SupportSystem #FamilyFirst #LifeCoaching #Empowerment #ConnectionMatters #FamilyBonding #OpenCommunication #ldslifecoach #homeschoolfamily #parentingtips #alignedliving #christianfamily #parenting101 #marriagecoach #girlmom #eternalfamilies #boymom #parentingtips #dontmissthis #christianparenting #parentingteens #teenmom #churchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #goodparenting

Consistency = Trust. If you want your children to trust you, it is important to walk the talk consistently every day. Consistency leads to predictability. When you are predictable, your kids can count on you to lead and guide them. As the saying goes, "I do, We do, You do."
