The three children were Lรบcia dos Santos and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto. Josรฉ Alves Correia da Silva, Bishop of Leiria, declared the events worthy of belief on October 13th, 1930. Pope Pius XII granted a pontifical decree of canonical coronation via the papal bull Celeberrima solemnia towards the venerated image on 25 April 1946. The Revelation The Virgin revealed to the children that Francisco and Jacinta would die soon and that Lucia would live to spread her message. The two children died in 1919 and 1920 of Spanish flu, and Lucia entered the convent, where she saw the Holy Trinity and the Virgin Mary. The 3 Secrets of Fรกtima 18 years after the apparitions, Sister Lucia wrote 4 memoirs of what happened in Fรกtima. In the third memoir, she wrote the first two parts of the secret. The first secret is a vision of hell, and the second, about World War II and the devotion to her Immaculate Heart. In 1943, Sister Lucia was ordered to write the third secret. She did so in 1944 and stated it should not be opened until 1960. The secret was read by Saint John XXIII and Saint Paul VI.
