Pool Hall Richard , by The Faces , a 45rpm released in 1973 . This was a non album single , written by Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood , and one of the last of The Faces songs to feature bass player Ronnie Lane . With Stewart already a successful solo artist recording on the Mercury label , and the group signed to Warner Bros , it was hardly an ideal situation for all concerned . Stewart’s commitment to the group waned , and he turned up two weeks late , for rehearsing and recording the final Faces studio album Ooh La La . Lane became frustrated that the group had become merely Stewart’s backing band , and left to form his own group , Slim Chance . He was replaced on bass by Tetsu Yamauchi , who had previously replaced Andy Fraser in Free . The Faces soldiered on for another year , though with Stewart now a superstar , Wood began a dalliance with the Rolling Stones and the group’s inevitable break up occurred in 1975 . About the Faces Musical Legacy: Steve Marriot’s frustrations over the Small Faces’s inability to shed their teen pop image led to the breakup of the band. However, rising from the ashes of that group was a rejuvenated band that were determined to deliver a unique style of Rock ’N’ Roll that was upbeat and brought its roots to the forefront of the music. The new band with the addition of Ronnie Wood on guitar and Rod Stewart on lead vocals had ascended past anything the Small Faces had accomplished and their true Rock ‘N’ Roll spirit led the charge for something new and exciting to blossom. With their eclectic blend of rock, blues, and folk, Faces emerged as a powerhouse of musical creativity, leaving an indelible mark on both the sound and culture of the era. Despite the fact that they enjoyed only modest success compared to contemporaries such as the Who and the Rolling Stones, the Faces have had considerable influence on latter-day rock revivalists who simply had to follow the path set for them. ¡Feliz Cumpleaños Número 79 Ian McLagan! (12.05.1945). Fue un músico inglés, antiguo tecladista de las bandas de rock Small Faces y Faces. En 1965 ingresó a Small Faces en reemplazo del tecladista original Jimmy Winston, debutando durante un show realizado en el Lyceum Theatre de Londres el 2 de noviembre de ese año. En 1969, Steve Marriott dejó el grupo y en su lugar llegaron el cantante Rod Stewart y el guitarrista Ron Wood, lo que derivó en el cambio de nombre de la banda a Faces. Durante los años 60 se relacionó con la modelo Kim Kerrigan, esposa de Keith Moon, baterista de The Who. Luego del divorcio con Moon, Ian y Kim se casaron. March 1973 - During the production of “Ooh La La” (1973), Rod Stewart’s flourishing solo career had somewhat diverted his attention, impacting the Faces’ recording process for what would ultimately be their final studio album. Consequently, producer Glyn Johns dubbed it “Ronnie Lane’s album,” acknowledging the significant contribution of the other lead singer and bassist of the Faces.
