Mindset has played a huge role in my life. ✨ It has opened my world up to possibilities my internal voices wouldn’t grant me permission for, and allowed me to step into a version of me I’m incredibly proud to be. Even through the hard times I’ve been grateful. Blaze's Tip for Demystifying Design 🔥 When it comes to the layout of your design, keep white space to the outside as a negative border. Avoid rivers of white space that can distract the eye and lead it off the page. And speaking of fonts, stick to two typefaces unless you're a design prodigy! When pairing fonts, think hierarchically to ensure clarity and readability. And don't go overboard with colors - stick to three max, including one secondary or tertiary color for contrast or emphasis. Need help choosing colors? Went to an abstract art course a few weekends ago. The teacher was lovely and the initial mark-making exercises were fun! But, it wasn't quite what I expected. We focused on learning rules and I was always breaking them. I felt like a naughty child hiding my paintings when the teacher came around 😅 It was like being in high school again, doing creativity 'wrong'. But, I had fun in the end! After getting home, I cut up all the paintings and mark-making I'd done and created some unique collages. Working in and around the arts, swearing on your life that you are made for the transactional side of the business, the support side, the behind-the-scenes - Aka the safe side - while deep down sensing you’re creatively locked. Shadow artists are always showcasing someone else’s work first, saying things like “it’s too late” and “I couldn’t compete” and “the market is so crowded” and “I wouldn’t know where to begin” or “I know too much.” I know this bc I’m a recovering shadow artist myself, and might always be recovering.
