In my reading for 2024 it was said that i should eat whilst sitting at my dinner table instead of lounging in front of the tv. And actually I cannot read a book or look at my phone either. What a beautiful day it was to bring my ébo for the Orisha Olokun to the sea at #NoordwijkAanZee. Vanochtend deed ik een tarotreading op de dag en in het uur van Mercurius, en hoewel dat niet echt nodig was besloot ik een ritueel gewaad aan te trekken. Ooit, decennia lang geleden voor mij gemaakt door Joke Lankester in die goede oude tijd dat ik deel uitmaakte van de jaarfeestengriep van haar en haar man. Ook frequenteerde ik Silver Circle alwaar ik de basiscursus over Wicca deed en was ik lid van de Green Circle, ooit opgestart door Marian Green, die één van mijn eerste leraren was in de magie. Dit alles flitste door mij heen toen ik in een opwelling dit gewaad aan trok. Ook dat ik met mijn moeder het bos in trok om in m'n blootje de zelfinitiatie voor de Green Circle te doen. M'n moeder was erbij om me te helpen en voor de gezelligheid natuurlijk. Ons kennende zal het zonder meer gevolgd zijn door een picknick ergens hier in de bossen van de Vale Ouwe. Ik heb goede herinneringen aan dit gewaad, en ik pas het ook nog steeds!! 😀 Nu is mijn leraar Elliott Rivera die mij heeft ingewijd in Santería en Palo Bryumba, en hoewel ik deel uitmaak van zijn huis, een dochter van de Orisha Yemaya ben en een Palera, wat je letterlijk zou kunnen vertalen als takkenwijf, beoefen ik nig steeds de oude kunsten als het lezen van de tarot, en heb ik nog steeds de verbondenheid met het land waar ik woon, met Moeder Aarde en de Gehoornde God, en al die vreemdsoortige, halfversluierde wezens die voortkomen uit de schemering en zich in onze dromen onthullen, en soms, soms zich laten zien vanuit onze ooghoeken. Omdat het strand superdruk is gedurende het weekend, besloot ik mijn maandelijkse pelgrimage voor Olokún, de Orisha van de oceanen en zeeën, op een doordeweekse dag te houden. Een goede keus! Ik had alle tijd en rust om mijn ébo te brengen, te zingen, en vooral te mediteren terwijl ik tot aan mijn knieën in de aanrollende golven sta. Voor mijn geestesoog zie ik Olokún omhoog rijzen uit de zee, een donkere massa die werkelijk gigantisch is. Denkend dat ik het me inbeeld open ik mijn ogen en zie de golven van de zee en al het water dat ik zie voor zover het oog rijkt, heeft die prachtige turqoise kleur die je met de tropen associeëert. Zoals je aan mijn foto's kunt zien had de zee absoluut niet die kleur en toen ik het aan mijn aanwezige dochter vroeg, had zij dit ook niet waargenomen. Maferefun Olokún! Foto's zijn door mij gemaakt, behalve dat plaatje van die golf die ik er ter illustratie van de door mij waargenomen kleur van de zee erbij heb geplaatst. Door middel van divinatie van de Babalawo of Santero/Santera wordt bekend gemaakt waar je een bepaalde offerande voor een Orisha uiteindelijk moet brengen. Net zozeer als dat door divinatie bepaald wordt dat je dat moet doen, aan welke Orisha, en waaruit het moet bestaan. Als het bos de plek is waar ik iets naartoe moet brengen is is dat voor mij heel gemakkelijk, want ik heb zo'n beetje de hele Veluwe tot m'n beschikking. Soms moet je iets kwijt op een bepaalde plek als treinrails, een ziekenhuis, begraafplaats, vliegveld, afhankelijk ook van het doel van de ébo. Vandaag moest ik voedsel voor 2 verschillende Orisha's "kwijt" in de rivier. No worries; deze bestonden uit volledig afbreekbare substanties, nml eetbaar. Het gaan naar een rivier is voor mij weer een ander verhaal dan het gaan naar het bos omdat ik mij in een voor mij onbekende omgeving moet begeven, want hoe moet ik rijden en waar moet ik zijn voor een geschikte plek om dit te doen? Ik moet met de Orisha's praten, en dat doe ik het liefst zonder wandelaars, fietsers en ander bewegend gespuis om me heen..🙈 Als ik naar zee ga voor mijn maandelijkse ébo voor de Orisha Olokun is dat helemaal fun. Hier in Nederland zijn er denk ik maar bar weinig plekken waar je de nodige privacy kunt vinden op het strand, tenminste niet als je niet langer dan 1,5 uur in de auto wilt zitten.
