鈴木さんが造った防波堤 「藤三払防波堤」 築造1877(明治10)年 施工 鈴木藤吉 構造 捨石(粗石)玉石積み 伊東半島沖に面してちょこんと突き出た、個人が築造した石積みの防波堤です。 この場所から北東に位置する伊豆稲取駅からほど近い入江にある稲取港が古くから伊豆の主要な漁港として栄えており、同時に避難港(港湾法で定められた、暴風やしけ等の災害時に近海を航行している船舶が一時的に避難出来る港)としても機能していましたが度々荒波が入り込む事でも有名な漁港で、付近に住んでいた鈴木藤吉さんがこの池尻に安全な港を造る事を目指し、荒波にもめげずに毎日石を積み続け明治10年に完成しました。 鈴木藤吉さんは文献によると武士の家柄で、この防波堤のすぐ北にある温泉旅館の稲取銀水荘の辺りに住んでおり、海水浴に来る子供たちに昔話を聞かせていたという事以外に詳しい情報は無く、この防波堤もどのように築造したのかは不明ですが何度も大波に石積みを壊されながらもコツコツと造りあげたそうです。 石積み自体は護岸や石垣でよく見かける玉石積みで、どこから搬入したのかは不明ですが恐らく付近の河川か海岸から長年水流に削られて丸みを帯びた玉石が丁寧に積まれており、後年に突堤部分や防波堤基部にコンクリートの補強を施し更に強度を増したものと思われます。 実際に1917(大正6)年に関東、近畿地方に甚大な被害をもたらした東京湾台風が上陸した際には崩壊を免れ見事に防波堤の役割を果たしており、この防波堤が如何に頑丈であったかが証明されています。 この防波堤は施工者の鈴木藤吉さんに倣って藤三(とうさんが作った)という意味の藤三払いという名が付けられ、現在も地元の釣り客やダイビングの練習場所として親しまれており、本人の名前が記された碑も建てられています。 #産業遺産 #土木遺産 #防波堤 #玉石積み #釣りスポット #個人が造ったなんて・・・・ #静岡県東伊豆町 #heritage #civilengineeringheritage #breakwater #shizuoka #nikond610 #likesforlike
