Thanks to the help of an e-bike I rented from @barharborbike, I spent the day cycling roughly 50 miles around Acadia National Park’s carriage roads. The weather was perfect, the lakes were beautiful, the carriage road bridges were unique and fun to see, and I really saw a lot of the park. If you have a couple of days to explore Acadia, I highly recommend cycling at least some of it, it won’t disappoint. One thing is for sure, I’m done for the day. 1. The Carriage Road up Dorr Mountain with views of the Atlantic. 2. Eagle Lake 3. Jordan Pond Gatehouse 4. Jordan Pond from the Carriage Road. 5. Carriage Road Bridge built in 1925…I really like seeing the different styles and trying to find the date stone. 6. Looking out over Acadia from Sargent Mountain. 7. Looking West from Sargent Mountain. 8. Date stone on Hadlock Brook Bridge. 9. The dahlia tuber can be mighty at any size! 108 tubers were planted today in the dense fog after the heavy rain last night. It seems I’m half way through planting the dahlias but I could not tell you how many I actually have 😅 If we have extras, we will have them at market this weekend. We are opening on Friday May 31. We are going back to our roots, we’ve moved back inside our studio space. We want this comfy cozy space, more than a store where you can chill, relax and build community. Also hoping you’ll let any solo women travelers know about us and friends who want to mend or sharpen their sewing skills. Carly is busy with baking ideas and Claire will have a mending project. The first project is “yo-yo”s. Such a great way to add a pop of color to a garment and really shines covering stains. We are changing our hours too Friday and Saturday 10-4 Sunday 12-6 We hoping locals will show up on Sunday evenings and take home leftovers. I’m determined not to gain weight in the summer but it’s a struggle with Carly’s goodies.
