This picture was taken over the summer, on my birthday 🥳 my 50th🤯 I’d asked my family to take a good picture of me on the day… this was the best they managed, at least I’m smiling 😆 Don’t know about you but most of the time my age feels pretty irrelevant but if I think about it as having been around for half a century, it’s a shock! But it’s really not about the numbers, it’s all about how you feel. My forties were by far my best decade, I gradually became much more comfortable and confident in and about myself, and I’ve started this next decade feeling fantastic ✨ There’s much I want to achieve over the next 10 years, and plan to have plenty to celebrate by the time I turn 60 🎉
Everyone has different workout/fitness goals. As a therapist, one thing I know about goals, is they have to be meaningful to the individual attempting to reach them. I have no desire to be skinny, thin, or whatever other people may want for me. My goals have nothing to do with being skinny. You can be skinny and unhealthy. When I started this journey, my desires were 1. To lose belly fat, where unhealthy fat is stored... I'm doing that. 2. To strengthen my core... I'm doing that. 3. To tone and strengthen my legs... I'm doing that. 4. To increase agility... I'm improving that. 5. To increase flexibility... I'm improving that. 6. To improve my balance... I'm improving that. 7. To feel healthy overall... I'm feeling that. 8. To improve my nutrition... I'm doing that! These are the goals that matter to me, and that's the biggest reason why I show up. My goals are all about what I desire. Na het artikel in @vrouw_nl en het artikel in de Telegraaf krijg ik veel vragen van vrouwen over hoe ik het zelfvertrouwen heb gekregen. Nou daar is bij mij ook best wel aan wat vooraf gegaan. Was ik vroeger teruggetrokken en verlegen,en durfde niet veel. Is dat nu heel anders. Bij mij is het ontstaan ong 11 jaar geleden,woonde alleen ,moest ineens alles zelf regelen,huis ,werk,rekeningen etcetera . Ik moest anders kwam ik nergens. En tot mijn verbazing lukte het ook allemaal ,had mezelf te lang naar beneden gehaald,maar was het waard om gehoord te worden. En tegenwoordig doe ik waar ik zin in heb Kleed me hoe ik wil. Draag makeup hoe ik wil. Draag mijn haar hoe ik wil etc. En verder wat een ander er van vind boeit me eigenlijk niet zoveel meer. Ik denk dat als je het los laat wat een ander vind je al een eind komt ,want goed kun je het toch nooit voor iedereen doen . Hopelijk kan ik hier andere dames mee inspireren. Iedereen is mooi en goed op hun eigen manier. Wie had vroeger ook zo weinig zelfvertrouwen,en is nu totaal veranderd? I have so many things to say to you on this morning of Monday, May 29, 2023, 23 days from my 51st birthday... I'm not telling you this to remind you of my birthday, no, but to let you know how important it is to -Set personal and professional goals -Take the time to adjust your goals if necessary -Activate the cadence if you've procrastinated at times!?!! 🤨 While being proud and grateful for what has been accomplished in the present moment. Very important. Because the most important thing is to have grown, flourished, blossomed... In the field(s) of your choice. As I've been saying since January 1, 2023: ''Explore and navigate paths you've never took before. Yes, go where you've never ventured before. You'll be amazed at what you'll discover about yourself and others. Plus, you'll be amazed at the people, the various and clear manifestations, who will come your way because you've decided that you're worth the effort and that you're finally ready for an extraordinary personal transformation; for your own good and for those who will benefit from your radiance. As I approach my 51st birthday🎉 changes, effervescence, excitement, blessings, love I've explored on another level again and again and again this year... My heart is filled with immense joy, continuously, every day. I still have several avenues to complete in order to meet my "to do list" before I turn 51! They're not just professional projects, no... I have a trip to Compostela to organize... A trip in which my family have participate financially, and I'll be honoring this pilgrimage that I've been coveting for a long time... In the last few days many people have been asking me "what's up with you man! You are glowing girl...." My answer: love dear friends! Love of me Love of life Love of God Love of people Love of love... Taking ownership 💯 by stopping asking yourself 1MM questions is to finally live a free life. Many people have been living this way for ages and probably haven't had to work on this aspect of their personality. I sometimes envy them... Things would surely have been faster for me if I had been conceived this way but it's not the case; and it's ok this way because it's my story, my adventure to live and to tell. I was not born in luxury and my journey has been punctuated by painful situations; mainly due to my hypersensitivity. I've been around people who, without being mean, were far too busy living their lives to see and understand my distress. Do you ever feel this way? Imprisoned in your own body? Dreams and projects in your head and heart... Unable to live them and bring them out? To go from the intangible to the tangible? I'm here to tell you that you can. If at 50 years old I finally live my life the way I've always envisioned it, believe me you can too. It all starts with a decision. One day I got tired of crying... And here I am today! Official first run of the year in🖐 Was a slow start, but committed to getting back on track plus signed up for half marathon. It’s been over 3 years since I have done a marathon, although talked a lot about it, and made some silly excuses why not too.
