Birds and that at @rspb_bemptoncliffs 🦢 Recently, I went to Bempton Cliffs for the first time and what a place! So many cool birds on display like Razorbills, Gannets, Guillemots and the odd Puffin. Not only that but there was a Barn Owl in the distance, that’s always nice. POPPED MY AURORA CHERRY!!! 🤯💫 Fuelled by very little sleep and constantly chasing the night sky through a phone lens, safe to say slinging a camera around my shoulder and sprinting to the nearest hilly dark patch at the crack of dawn was worth the effort 🤌 Utterly indescribable the feeling of seeing the Northern Lights for the first time…and at home no less! Shimmering pink waves of magic - real natural magic - dancing across the night sky. Swimming in CRA’TAE CARPETS 🔔💙 Purpurescent perfection! A woodland wonder, enchanting and magical in droves blanketing forest floors; harebells, cuckoo’s boots, granfer giggles and witches’ thimbles - no matter the name, iconic dangling bluebells indicate that you’re standing in a rare and special habitat. A habitat so exquisitely old that many thought fairies once resided there, which is not surprising when you step foot in one ✨🥾 They might not be fairies, but visiting bees come pretty close as they feed on the nectar. However, bee can ‘steal’ from the ‘bells by biting a hole in the bottom of the flowers, reaching the nectar tonic without the need to pollinate the flower. Cheeky buggers 🐝 Wanted to catch the last gasp of life of these flowers and doing something different when photographing them. On the trail for Andalusian wildlife 🦋🥾 Best way to describe this adventure? A boiling hot endeavour 🔥 However, every step we took we were reminded that Spain’s nature spots aren’t just confined to arid, harsh environments; instead, we were surrounded by blankets of colour erupting from wildflowers and trees dripping in lichens. Suddenly we saw paw tracks - Iberian lynx prints baked into the ground by the relentless sun, toe-beans clear to see 🐾 But we were here for the many, MANY butts fluttering about like this Marsh fritillary! It was great, really educational and eye opening but also very saddening. I was lucky enough to meet Megan after the show and we chatted a little about wildlife and conservation. I also purchased Megan's new book called 'An Atlas Of Endangered Species' that she signed for me (stupidly didn't have it in the photo with me). Wildlife of Yosemite: Bobcat One of my highlights from visiting the Yosemite National Park was spotting this wild Bobcat in the early morning and debating whether to cross the trail path or to create some space and observe first. Un autre rêve de réalisé!! 🦦 Ce jour-là, alors que je revenais d'une fin de semaine dans les Laurentides, un ami m'a informé d'un endroit où j'aurais possiblement la chance d'observer des loutres. Puisqu'il s'agissait d'un de mes rêves en terme de rencontres animales, j'ai décidé de faire le détour. À mon arrivée, la nature était très calme tout autour de moi. Au loin, quelques bernaches chantaient et la glace recouvrait une grande majorité du plan d'eau. Je me suis donc positionné face à une ouverture. Après de longues minutes d'attente, les loutres commencèrent à s'activer, mais dans le fond du lac et à ma droite, dans une partie plus étroite dégelée. Puisqu'elles semblaient plus actives à ma droite, lorsqu'un des loutres s'est décidée à plonger, je me suis dirigé vers le bord de l'eau le plus rapidement possible dans l'espoir qu'elle sorte devant moi. À mon plus grand plaisir, quelques minutes plus tard, alors que je suivais les bulles quelle faisait sous l'eau en se promenant, elle sortit directement devant moi, à contre-jour, ce qui donna cette photo!!
