Finish line feels -> mid race vibes -> final kick! 🫎🏃🏻♀️⛰️ 🎉 I had so much fun at the Revel White Mountains Half Marathon over this weekend! I feel like I broke the slump I’ve had with the half and didn’t count myself out this time. Initially I had bigger PR goals with this race, but after building back fitness at the start of this year I just wanted to see a 1:20 something again and would have been more than stoked with that. 2nd place female overall and a PR for 1:25:11! I couldn’t be happier with my finish for the first east coast revel & race in “my backyard”. I actually stopped looking at my watch/trying to figure out my pace after the 7 mile mark when a biker said I was “4th female” and I could see the 3rd ahead & I went “okay wow” and picked up the pace to catch her. I settled into 3rd and then by mile 10 I caught the 2nd female and settled into 2nd place, passing another few runners. I ran off feel letting myself get faster as the miles went on. This is the best feeling in a race when you can start passing and feeling stronger in the 2nd half. I knew the final and last 2 miles would be slower again as the course leveled out and I just held where I was at knowing my time was definitely in the 1:20s and waited for the kick in the final stretch. If i did look at my watch, I probably would have started to kick a little sooner than I did.. but honestly I was just so happy to be coming in 2nd female and to be enjoying the race as much as I did! This was the first half in a while where I actually enjoyed every single mile and wasn’t wishing for it to be over! I loved the aid station set ups and having the volunteers cheer for us runners along the way! To the girls who said I looked really good and they loved my hot pink shoes at mile 10.. thank you!! Made me kick that next mile up even more and hence the thumbs up photo for photo #3 ! The best part though? Celebrating with friends and family afterwards enjoying the “sweet treat” donuts, free tuckermans beer, and all the laughs & conversations! 😍 I hope we all get to do this again next year! AND I hope I am as lucky as some of the marathoners who got to see a moose on course this year!! 🫎 ⛰️

When @hartman.io let us know he was leaving @tracksmithrunning we were all so bummed, Drew was the person who brought together the brand ambassador program through which I got to meet so many amazing runners from around the country. Before my brain cancer diagnosis I had the opportunity to pace at the Twilight 5000 helping athletes smash their goals which was amazing. After my diagnosis, being an ambassador gave me opportunities to race when I couldn't have afford to otherwise. I also got to know so many great athletes from the @bostonhares . @leandrewbel is definitely our biggest hype man for all & we're so lucky to have him! We're definitely due for a Hareoke session soon! While the ambassador program is currently on pause, I just have to say thank you to everyone who's been a part of my journey these last two years, it's been an absolute blast and thank you to Drew for thinking of me! Thank you @runrevel White Mountain!! Today was such a beautiful morning for this inaugural 13.1 race in New Hampshire. The air was so clean, and we all finished before the rain hit! I fell and ended up in the ambulance for my last Revel race (2019 Big Bear), and that memory really made me took a little extra caution today. My eyes were looking closely to the ground (and phew, no rumble strips, no potholes, no falling, and arriving at the finish line in one piece)! When it comes to running socks, always go with the lightest pair! No sock really provide cushioning, that is running shoes' job. Instead, you need thin socks so that your feet won't got pressured when they expand in your shoes with distance. Tried this pair of Compressport Pro Racing Ultralight running socks for a half marathon and wasn't disappointed, they are ultra thin and the anti slip dots did their job and prevented my feet from getting numb usually after 15k. Good value, too. $20 sticker and I got it for $11 I believe. Trials of Miles at Icahn stadium did not disappoint. Not only did I trip and fall once but twice. Ha! I tripped over my spikes which I have ran in a bunch so not sure why that happened. The medic came over to help me up I said no I will get up and I will finish so I got up and finished my race. I am so grateful for the good sportsman ship that other athletes showed trying to help me get up. I was like no go finish your race I can’t move. So now I’m looking for another mile race to redeem myself. I can’t have a DNF. My teammate Antonia rushed down to check on me. I’ve never had to ice my stomach before, that was fun. Flash back to last weekend when I raced the USATF Masters 10K Championship at the James Joyce Ramble in Dedham. Still on a high from a great race that went better than expected! I was 4th overall female with a 37:29, a 38 second PR and felt really strong throughout the race. Happy with my performance and also thrilled that my Tracksmith Boston Hares team all pulled together to run our best on for that day and managed to win 🥇 overall women’s 40+ plus team (with the contributions of two fast 50+ ladies!). Was also fun to see other running friends at the race- the running community is the best! Looking forward to my next race, Great Bear 🐻 Run 5K part of the NE USATF Road Grand Prix on 5/19. 💚EUGENE HALF MARATHON RECAP: PART 2💛 ⭐️MILES 8-10⭐️ Mile 8 started with a continuation of the twists, turns, and mildly annoying slanted roads found in mile 7. I took my second gel a minute into this mile, knowing that large hill #2 of the race was coming at the end of it and I did NOT want to be trying to slurp down a gel while climbing. As I started the ascent of the hill, I regretted not taking that gel a mile or so earlier. About halfway up the hill, I started to feel horribly nauseous. I was mere SECONDS from barfing when @paisleylandry found me and pulled me out of the pain (puke) cave. Watching her run with strength and confidence was the inspiration I needed to carry me through the small hills sprinkled throughout miles 9 and 10. ⭐️MILES 11-13.1⭐️ Towards the end of mile 10, I was feeling more beat up than I have during a half in YEARS. I decided to take mile 11 slow in hopes of catching my breath a bit so I could finish strong. Unfortunately, I only felt worse by the time my watch ticked over to mile 12. In a last ditch effort to unlock a second wind, I grabbed three cups of Nuun at the mile marker 12 aid station, stopped briefly, and chugged them. I instantly felt better and let excited visions of finishing on Hayward Field power me to the end. Once I made that turn onto the track and heard the roar of the crowd, I caught the urge to surge. With everything I had left, I chased down that finish line and was SHOCKED to see 1:42:xx on the clock. With how badly I “fell apart” (or, at least that’s how I perceived it), I thought there was no way I’d be under 1:45. It might not have been a PR, but I finished knowing I did everything I could, and that’s enough for me. After receiving my medal, I stumbled up to the stands to find my husband and immediately changed my shoes, as my left pinky toenail was screaming for relief from my race shoes. I enjoyed the finisher’s festivities and hobbled back to the car, proud of myself for fighting until the last step, even as the goal slipped away. Though I might not have gotten what I came for, I left Eugene with exactly what I needed: a healthy dose of patience, perspective, and pride.

London Marathon 2024 - 02:55:26 6 days later... second World Major ✅ Sore legs upped the anxiety for this one and I stubbornly doubled down with @marc_goes_running that we would both bag the sub-3 we’d trained so hard for in the last 16 weeks together. GFA baby! 🦄🚀 This training block has been a revelation in learning to just let life happen, while still being as dedicated as possible. No longer sweating a couple of seconds off a pace zone, it was just about mileage and increasing load on the legs 💦 and valuing those rest days! Running around the London landmarks was always going to be special, but around Cutty Sark and over Tower Bridge were just completely magical, being cheered on by my family at multiple points, and my absolute biggest cheerleader 📣 @purplehorror! The emotions were pretty high throughout this as the crowd were just phenomenal. Seeing all the fundraisers is just awe-inspiring and I was shocked to see people I recognised from Boston also crazily attempting the double - including @andyrobrunner bagging a Guiness World Record for running it in 20kg of chainmail - hero! These photos really show how proud and happy I was to be representing @nottsfrontrunners (despite hitting the wall less than half way in 😅). 1:20:38 half marathon (6:09/mile). 15th place overall. 3rd in age group. Ventura was a movie. Mountains 2 Beach might be the best I've ever raced. It's still surreal.
