Ooooo, The Push is such a twisty fave of mine that was captivating until the very last page. 😱 While it’s not for everyone (mannnnny trigger warnings), I do feel like the sign of a good book is that you continue to think about it long after it’s finished- this one fit the bill. I still think about this novel frequently (as a toddler mom, especially when walking to the park 😬), and the story has definitely stuck with me over the years. Hearing about the upbringings of Blythe, her mother, and her grandmother were incredibly interesting in understanding their different expectations and experiences in motherhood. Without giving too much away, early motherhood is tough fir Blythe, and she has difficulty connecting with her baby daughter. As she gets older, she believes something is wrong with her and her concerning behavior, but her husband isn't seeing what she is. I loved how this book had the pacing and digestible nature of a thriller, but took a deeper dive on family relationships, marital relationships, mental health, and generational trauma. YOU CAN'T KEEP ADDING! This is one of my favorite sayings concerning exercise programming. You can't just keep adding exercises, workouts, cardio, conditioning, or even just stuff to do! Everything has a cost, and it all feeds into the equation of time, energy, and focus versus overwhelm. Here's another way of looking at it: Everything you do or make time is a withdrawal from your Recovery Bank Account. And not just the diet and exercise stuff. All the other things you've got going on? Work, kids, school, arguing online? Those all withdraw from the account, too. So it doesn't take long before you're deep into your overdraft—or worse, bankrupt. Now, imagine if there was a simple TO-DO that could reduce stress, aid recovery, and function like a DEPOSIT into your Recovery Bank Account. Well, it's called WALKING. And even though it expends energy, its restorative qualities are somewhat unique in that it gives back WAY more than it takes. The only downside is that walking any meaningful distance at a modest pace is time-consuming. So it can become another thing to squeeze in and potential source of stress. The key is to make WALKING work FOR YOU—not the other way around. So just walk as much as you can, whenever you can... even if it's just 5-10 minutes at a time. BUT don't try to operate on 5 hours of sleep so you can get up at 4 AM and walk for an hour. That kind of tradeoff would be stepping over dollar bills to pick up nickels. SLEEP is probably the biggest "deposit" you can make to your recovery account.

THROWBACK THURSDAY To the time I rode a camel in the Sahara desert in Morocco. For those of you who know me, you know I am afraid of most cats and dogs - so to ride a MASSIVE camel was a big deal for me. I fear sooooo many different things with animals being just one of them. However over the years, I have tried to overcome some of these fears. My phobias are usually rooted in the fear of the unknown, and a lack of control over situations. Yet I have realized that these factors will always exist in life and with many TINY baby steps, I am trying to overcome various fears. And I see that the more I put myself in these situations, the more comfortable I get. For example, going to the US regularly this past year helped me embrace solo travel and even decreased some of my flying anxiety. I’ve got twins, a boy and a girl, I need to start preparing! Mrs R I’ve since been thinking Mrs R, though mine situation is not typical. For instance I’ve got 3 boys first before a girl who is her father’s sweetheart literally 🥰, so, on the flip side, she is a bit pampered but I won’t let her get spoiled for me, because I’ll be the one to bear the consequences 🤷🏻♀️ Okay, my answer is, raising both gender needs a lot of ideas, ideals, identity, intentionality, intensity, intelligence, interactions, interests, interpersonal connection, importance, impartiality, impact, independence, impressions, imaginations, improvement, etc. The list is endless As a parent, you don’t just start raising a child or children without well thought out ideas and ideals of how you want them to live and grow. My hubby and I agreed to intentionally raise children who have healthy confidence, are very bold, smart and quite contemporary with their own values, must have high standards, in tune with the times and seasons. We identified that they would be raised as well rounded individuals, highly skilled folks who would discover themselves and develop their potentials early. That’s why from early age we showed interest and noticed Uchenna my first is into sports (basketball), Chiboy is into arts (he draws), Ike my 3rd son is our international chef, he’s been cooking since 5 years old, he’d be 13 this year (there are no such thing as kitchen is for women alone, all my sons can cook though Chiboy isn’t interested in cooking. But he can cook to save his life) and Amara is talking sciences; she reads novels like no man’s business and she’s 9+.

Another New Yorker's in a frightened trance, attacked at home by someone bad. The strangers agree they must seek their revenge, killing each man who wronged the other. Meanwhile, the woman's husband wants to avenge her thwarted killer, because she can't recover. One stranger does kill but she's been duped, the other didn't carry out her murder. The two stories merge, then we get the scoop, I'll stop now and not go any further. I'm super picky about thrillers, and while this one had some problems, it kept me turning pages. I appreciated the nod to Hitchcock. ❤️🩹HERE AFTER~Amy Lin Beloved husband dies. So young! How to recover and live once again? Honestly, one of the most beautiful grief memoirs I've ever read. (and I've read a few!) I felt Amy Lin's pain, loss, and gradual recovery viscerally. Poetry class now dismissed! 🤓

As stated in a 1988 Newsletter: "The Beating of the Bounds Ceremony is an ancient custom with its roots in medieval times when parishes re-affirmed their boundaries by beating each boundary mark with wands. The ceremony will trace the boundaries of the united parishes of St. Dunstan in the East and All Hallows by the Tower, including the one formed by the Thames where a boy is hung over the side of a boat in a meeting of mind and matter. Tomorrow, I graduate earning my Master's of Arts in Teaching. Today, here's a little #ThrowbackThursday of all my previous graduation photos from 8th grade and beyond. Education has always been something I found to be extremely valuable in my life and it's crazy to think about what's to come next for me. I am truly grateful for the support of my education from my family, teachers, husband, own students and anyone who was along for the journey!
