NOT FAR FROM HERE // Bundanon 〰️ We don't think it's any secret that we're huge fans of Bundanon - the art, the grounds, the cafe and restaurant... it's all so stunning. And with their current exhibition, Tales of Land and Sea, there's even more reason to pencil in a visit. Bringing together three projects that explore multi generational experiences of migration, and the movement of goods and people across seas, this is definitely an exhibit you don't want to miss. There are themes of longing, displacement, cultural connection, and belonging from artists drawing on both personal stories and eastern mythologies to create these bodies of work. The three projects in the exhibit are Ayang-Ayang [or shadow] by Indonesian-born artist, Jumaadi, Par-Parā/Phus-Phusā [to speak incessantly/to whisper] by Sancintya Mohini Simpson, and Sangkuriang [a legend among Sudanese people in Indonesia] featuring works rarely seen from the Bundanon Collection by Arthur Boyd. I am so grateful that I get to connect and collaborate with a community of women who are passionate about their own business. When I met Laura from @wollongongwomen I was instantly inspired by her wanting to create a space for likeminded women to come together, celebrate achievements, make connections, showcase their business and share in the beautiful journey of personal growth. Laura holds all different types of gatherings from morning breakfast catch ups to Sunday afternoon social events. I was also fortunate enough to join a retreat that Laura facilitated earlier this year - it was life changing for me personally and professionally. With the ebbs and flows in running a small local business it really is so reassuring to surround yourself with other women that help you navigate the constant changes with so much encouragement, enthusiasm and fun … Laura always smiles at me and reminds me to enjoy it all and never stop having fun 👭

We have just enjoyed the most amazing few days in Orange connecting and collaborating with other like minded biz women 👭 We attended workshops, drinks, dinners, dress up trivia nights, wine tours and then the main event called @thehuddleorange On Sunday we were a room of 600 women learning, listening and sharing with each other. So inspiring, so accepting and so supportive - for sure this is the most colourful, fun and the best event of the year 🙋♀️🙋♀️

WIN! Boveda’s bum groping post gone in an hour NSW supporter Pat sent our Movement Director MTR this image late Sunday afternoon, posted to the Insta account of Boveda, which describes itself as a ‘Modern Mexican Tequila Bar’ in Thirroul, NSW. Pat complained directly to Boveda via email. “The harms of s*xually objectified portrayals of women are well established” she wrote, asking the company to remove the post “in order to give all women the honour and respect that they deserve.” MTR commented on the post this morning: "Are you encouraging local men to randomly grab women's bums? Why encourage s*xual harassment and how is this good for your business?" Within an hour the post was gone! MTR received a private message from the company which said: ”To show we are taking this matter seriously we have removed the post to ensure no one else is influenced by it.” Pat also received an email response thanking her for “allowing us to make good.” Boveda clearly needed to understand that normalising s*xual harassment and groping is not ‘modern’. We appreciate their prompt response and trust they won’t repeat this unacceptable behaviour in future. This latest victory makes win number 5 for 2024!
