Little over four months ago, I hit a breaking point. I found I couldn’t move forward with certain people in my life, but more importantly, I couldn’t grow being the same person I always was. The same person who never chose herself first, which is why I had ended up again with people that made me miserable. It took me a bit, but I finally chose me. I just walked away, no fighting, no drama, just left those that had hurt me, people that had used/scammed me, and unkind people. And Life exploded in the most excellent ways. Last Friday Night Circle was in two words, life changing. The past month, I have been quietly working behind the scenes on what my vision is for this year and my company. Our community has very specific needs that are just not being met… so we are going to meet them. On every single level. I ran it by my group, and it set the room on fire! The support I have in these ladies is unimaginable… and several have backed their support by investing in my dream. Social media wants you to be… social.. to succeed. Gasp! Fastest way to build, for me, has been building within my small business and witch communities. I make those bonds stronger by engaging with their material. At least once a day I share, like and comment on anyone who has done it in my posts since I last opened the page. When h do a follow request, I make sure to like five of their videos so they know I engage. My engagement has exploded on fb and Instagram since I started doing this. Sharing IG stories from other creators, other small businesses has also increased my traffic there. I have a couple friends who are promoting me as well, but I notice that I get higher in the algorithms when my stories are filled with other creators. When I first started these platforms it was so painful to post for little to no fillowers, I didn’t want to scream into the void. One year ago today, I had weight loss surgery. It was by far the best thing I have ever done for myself. It not only has saved my life, but it gave me a life worth living. The previous two years, when I posted the zoo lights pictures, I took them from a motorized scooter. I didn’t feel safe walking, fear of falling down… and I would wear out so easy. Before surgery, I was starting to use it to do things like shop stores. Now I can do five, six miles easy. My diabetes was attacking my muscles, my feet I couldn’t feel… AT ALL. I’m now in remission and I’m one of the lucky people that has had their neuropathy reversed, not all the way… but almost. My back pain that would keep me awake at night, isn’t there. I still have arthritis, but without the weight on it, it’s so much more bareable and only really acts up if I let myself get stiff. I slept alot on Monday from exhaustion (from exerting myself, not because of health) and it brought back the pain I had when I was heavier. Which makes sense, because I wasn’t so mobile. The freedom of movement is life changing. I am currently working on that challenge where you go from standing to sitting cross cross to standing back up without using your hands! I am off over half my meds, will probably get taken off more. I don’t have doctors appts every week like I was. Expecting to go in a normal schedule of yearly appts. And I don’t recognize myself in the mirror, yes.. physically, but also mentally… mentally I am not the same girl I was. The self confidence I have is mind blowing. Trust me, people have tried to take it down, but holy hell is it invincible right now. Losing weight was the one thing I could never do, my body and brain worked against me harder than I worked against them. They say you can get a transfer addiction by having this surgery and I sure as heck did. My new addiction is me. I’m my own addiction now and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I post the pictures because it’s the easiest way to show you my progress, but believe me this… how good I look is only a fraction of what this surgery did for me… but I can’t physically post pics to show you that. #wls #theglitteredwitch

Being hyper fixated is one of my adhd super powers, ever since I was eight and fell in love with orcas and became a walking orca know it all, I have always been the girl to devour information. Its why Im so good at so many things. (Ive devoured information for almost 48 years now) I start a new job, I learn EVERY aspect, even the parts I wont perform, so if called upon, I can do them. I learn a new art, I study the history and techniques behind them. Im self taught on how to build websites, my own furniture, and even my own spells now. By the time I was done being a political volunteer, I had gained enough knowledge on not only how to build a campaign but install winning strategies using basic common sense (dont split the vote) I was let down once by people that said they would help me get donors for fundraising, after that I read everything I could on how to ask and get money, who to target, and how to host extremely successful events. Do it in person if you can, major donors you ask in FEB, smaller donors you ask no earlier than two months before your event. Details stick in my head. Things I learn, stay forever. It makes me extremely annoying, like when I could pull research data from way back when I studied microbiology in college during the pandemic. The flip side to that coin is that it takes me forever to remember a face or a name. My brain just works funny. This year I have come to learn that if people cant handle me, its more a reflection on them and their own self perceived intelligence. I used to mask how smart I was, play dumb all the time, because I thought being overweight and smart was just too much for people to handle, let alone believe. My brain constantly searches for knowledge. Im learning Canva right now, which after using photoshop is like childsplay. After Saturday, I start researching the insurance my little empire will need to host actual international witch trips... for which I have picked the best name for and cant wait to announce! This is how I chose to sparkle, to no longer hide who I am. If you cant handle it, put on some shades instead of throwing shade or turn away. #theglitteredwitch

I go to bed exhausted each night only to wake up raring to do it all over again. I got a new laptop (chrome book got in an early Black Friday sale) so I can start making my own graphics again and have a better contraption to write on. My last laptop was giving up the ghost. No sooner did the box landed on my porch did another contract land in my email, thankfully that’s not due till feb 1. If that’s not the universe telling me it wants me to succeed, I don’t know what is. I’ve learned so much the last few months, getting rid of all the negetive people, all those who gossip or bad mouth others ( if they shit talk others around you or to you, they shit talk you as soon as you leave) and away from the people that got so many tips from the universe that they should change courses or crumble… which they havent, so now I get a front row seat at seeing what exactly not to do. Reputation is everything, and once destroyed with lies and scams, its almost impossible to rebuild. Most importantly, I cut the people who’s true characters came out when they were angry or offended. Finally seeing them for who they actually were, instead of who the pretended to be when I “pleased them.” Boy, do hit dogs holler and all I did was simply just leave. No unkind words nor cruel actions. Having all those low vibrations removed has set me and the universe on a course I never dreamt possible. 10 out of 10, highly recommend. #theglitteredwitch
The most powerful magic, right? Pulled an all nighter to finish off my orders so they are dry enough to mail out on Friday. Started working on replenishing my stock as well as some new Christmas Items I want ready for the next show. I figure I need at least double, if not more items in hand to finish off the this year. I just have one New Hampshire craft event next month to finish off the new year with my small business. I’m hoping next year I’ll be better stocked for shop small Saturday, as this year I’m at a near sell out. The Glittered Geek is definitely going to have to wait for its launch untill I can have a downtime to properly work on it. I haven’t pulled an all nighter since I was a PSO. Success. It’s always been mine. I put in the work like it’s was and is already mine. Chris taught me his motto when I met him, it helped me smooth out the wrinkles in my last business and make sure I put very little creases in this one as I build. “Work smarter, not harder” You can build the best product, put blood sweat and tears into it but if you don’t put in just as much effort learning to promote that product, nobody will find it or buy it. So many people think just building something “great” will draw people to it… but the truth is, it doesn’t. So they cycle building better and better till they are broke.. Be extremely choosy where you spend not only your money, but your time while promoting. If one advertising venue has very little return, set it aside and try something different. (Go back to them when you have a bigger budget… you can get good traffic for twenty bucks on some sites/platforms… but others are going to take hundreds (and be well worth it) when youre in a place to afford it. If you look for craft or metaphysical (witchy) events to show at, make sure the interest is there for them. Also, check and see if your participation fee goes to towards advertising for the event. (I ask) I walk away from events that tell me they want me to pay the fee and promote their event, it’s not worth my time. Right now I’m not doing witch centric events even though that who my product is geared for. Why would I compete with fifty other vendors. I’m focusing on events where I’m one of maybe three witches. All three of us do really well, not only are we getting people that already practice witch craft but people who are curious about it as well. Last thing… blog. Not only do you get accidental keywords throughout, the longer people stay on your posts, the more intrigued they get about you and what you do. This post here is a blog of sorts. I’m attracting other small businesses with this, helping me make connections for the next steps I need to take in my business. Witchy Feild Trip Sat November 25 to Salem, Ma! Sorry for the late notice, but we have three drivers in Nashua available to take us down to Salem for Christmas/Yule shopping. … and we have bookings! Whenever you go live with an event, there is always that moment when you catch your breath and hold it. You just don’t know if you did enough to get people hyped. This is the highest ticketed event I have ever done, with many, many moving parts. This is also where my adhd comes in handy, I get so hyper focused that I go over detail after detail till all the puzzle pieces fall in place. I’m so very excited. Friendly reminder, there will be no Circle this up coming Friday as your host is going on an adventure. I will be back the following Friday. Now to go home to pack up Brads truck and drive to Vermont for my very first show, my very first art drop I guess? I got two more commissioned pieces so I’ve already broke even, just need to recoop my time now:) it feels good going into this first show not in the hole.
