Senecio radicans or Curio radicans commonly known as String of Bananas 🌿 This trailing succulent has banana-shaped leaves arranged on a long stem. This is an ideal choice for beginner plant enthusiasts because of their fast growth and low maintenance requirements. PLANT CARE- Thrives in bright to partial shade light conditions, requiring at least six hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal growth. Insufficient light can lead to leggy growth and leaves will be more spaced out. Drought-tolerant and should be allowed to dry out completely between waterings. Use succulent/cactus soil mix to prevent root rot and ensure proper aeration. Feed them with evenly mixed liquid fertilizer during the active growing season (spring and summer). Regular pruning encourages fuller growth, and repot them every 1.5 to 2 years into a slightly larger pot. PROPAGATION- Easily propagated through stem cuttings, cut just above the node with sterile gardening shears. Allow the cutting to callous for 24 hours before planting in soil and placing in bright, indirect light. String of Hearts 💕 I’ve mentioned it before, but I really do have a love/hate relationship with this plant! As soon as this plant grows to a nice healthy length, the hearts at the top start dying! I’m stuck in a cycle of propagating the bottom strings to refill the top, then as the propagations grow in length, the top becomes bare again!
