We can lose our saltiness. However, Jesus also says that we are the light of the world. Days of Noah ~ The rainbow is a beautiful symbol of God’s covenant promise to all mankind that He will never again destroy the earth by flood. “Stay with me in this little exercise in Biblical theology.” If you’re going to infer “Thus saith the Lord “, you better back it up with scripture. God did not promise there would be no storms and there’s NO WAY Noah would say: “I remember a day I received a promise from God that there would never again be universal catastrophic destruction of the descendants of Adam.” On the contrary, the Bible is clear that although God is patient (long suffering), He will not always strive with man. God sees ALL the evil in this world and His righteous judgement is perfectly timed. Jesus likened His return to the days of Noah saying: “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so it shall be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking and marrying up to the day Noah entered the Ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.” (Luke 17:26-27) He also said: “I came to send fire 🔥 on the earth and how I wish it were already kindled. (Luke 12:49) So while the rainbow 🌈 in all its manifold beauty, is a spectacular symbol of God’s grace, the deluge should be taken seriously as an ominous foreshadow of the coming wrath. A different kind of Biblical storm is coming and we need to get on the Ark, so to speak. The first worldwide judgment was by water; but the final global judgment will be by fire.🔥 Old Testament prophets and New Testament writers ✍️ describe that time as a day of clouds and thick darkness … the earth shall quake and the heavens tremble, the sun and moon grow dark. The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise and the elements will melt with fervent heat, both the earth and the works therein will be burned up. (Joel, Isaiah, Zephaniah, Malachi, Acts 2:20, 2 Peter 3:10, Revelation 6:12) BUT THERE IS A SILVER LINING FOR ALL WHO TRUST JESUS AS LORD AND SAVIOR. “It shall come to pass that whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Every single time life gets hectic and I’m praying “I don’t know what to do,” the good Lord brings my focus back in to trusting in His plans, His comfort, and His promises. I have such immense gratitude for the community we have built by God’s grace here at TX Legacy Fastpitch Academy. When I started this program in NB I imagined a place where young women would come together to grow as pitchers and as human beings. I imagined a place where friendships would form no matter what organization they played for. In 1 John 1:5, the apostle declares, "This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all." Friend, there is no darkness in God. But that doesn't mean God isn't in the darkness. Whatever dark circumstance you are facing today, literal, physical, mental, or spiritual, God is right there with you. Don't believe anyone who tries to tell you differently. Take it from King David who knew about dark times and who knew his God. "If I say, 'Surely the darkness shall fall on me,' Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to you." (Psalm 139:11-12) David is reminding us that God sees things differently than we do. We may look around and see only darkness. Dead ends. Unanswered prayers. Failure. God sees light. He sees with an eternal perspective. He knows how each circumstance is going to ultimately be worked out for the good of those who love Him. Do you love Him? Do you want to claim this promise from Romans 8:28? It is a simple as repenting of your sins, confessing Jesus as Lord, and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. (Rom 10:9-10) Regardless of what we are facing, we can walk in the Light of His Love today. I prefer to stay small, but God has called me to have courage and not be afraid to grow. A platform that yields thousands of likes on any one given post can feel a bit overwhelming since I care deeply about authentic connections.
