🏆THESE MOMENTS CAPTURED🏆 What made my first powerlifting comp so different from bodybuilding is the commaderie. Yes, everyone is there to compete against everyone else, but mainly, you're competing against yourself to lift the heaviest YOU can and perform the best on the day. I couldn't be more chuffed with coming 2nd place in my first comp! Powerlifting is something I'd love to pursue now and I want to be the best I can be. 🏆2ND PLACE🏆 I actually can't believe it, 2nd place out of 14 women in my weight category, in my very first powerlifting competition. I realised throughout the day I undershot all my weights and played it safe because I was overly cautious and was scared of a no lift. Things it has taught me: ✴️ I'm just as competitive in this sport as I was in bodybuilding. They are both polar opposites so I can't choose of which I'd prefer, they are totally different. ✴️ Incorporate longer pauses on my bench press in training (my first bench attempt was a fail because I came up too quickly on their command) ✴️ I'm desperate to surpass my current PB of 165kg deadlift with NO WRAPS. The max I've done without them has been 150kg..need to keep going with them..170kg would be my dream. ✴️ My dream is a 115kg-120kg squat, current PB is 112.5kg ✴️ Take more risks; I will be more confident with choosing higher numbers next time and doing better. ✴️ I'm feeling like I'd want to pursue this properly with competing in qualifying comps and who knows...maybe go to British? 🤣 Thank you to everyone who messaged and supported me on the day, especially the legend that is my mum @miranda_elise_l @vikingstrengthgym thanks for having me what an amazing experience!
