Busy season of life right now. My daughter is 15 today. She also got her braces off today. School is out for Summer. My son graduates high school tomorrow. 3 new providers starting this week at Live Well Training Center, my trauma-informed integrative wellness center. Hosting two big parties this week. My Mom is in town for all the celebrations. How much goodness can you allow and receive? I hear my mentor’s voice in my head saying these words as I think about this week and all the fruits of a lot of efforts coming to fruition this week. How much goodness can you handle? Just as we have to increase our capacity to bounce back from unhealthy stress we also have to increase our capacity to handle good stress! There’s a reason it is said that God’s goodness is overwhelming. That’s because you need to learn how to be present to the internal experiences of joy, happiness, gratitude, and love in abundant amounts. These sensations are even more intense at times than anxiety, fear, and anger. Practice experiencing the sensations of Goodness. Keep increasing your container to handle more of it. So as I promised I'll retell the legend of mărțișor today! 🌺Mărțișor is the celebration of the beginning of the spring season ✨ which takes place on the 1st of March. 📜One of the old Romanian legend says that once in a fight with the winter witch, that didn’t want to give up its place, the beautiful lady Spring cut her finger and few drops of her blood fall on the snow, which melt. Soon on this place grew a snowdrop and in such a way the spring won the winter. ... ... ... 📖The legend I learned when I was little sais that the winter also didn't want to give up the space for the spring to come so even some snowdrops appeared, it was surrounded by snow❄️. The lady Spring saw that and decided to clean the snow with her hand. She hurt her finger accidentally touching some hidden thorns🥀 in the snow and drops of blood dripped on the snowdrop flower. A part of it was red and a part remained pure-white. This is what the beginning of the spring🏕️ was marked by. 👇👇👇 Mărțișor is an accessory we give as a gift to our friends and family members on the st of March. We wear this accessory on our jacket's left part right near our heart (the mărțișor accessory usually looks like a little bouquet with two flowers: one is white and the other one is red.) On the last day of March (31st of march) we take the Mărțișor out and put it on a tree's branch. Moldovans strongly believe that it will make the tree very fruitful. I’ve been exploring the gorgeous intuitive practise of Somatic Movement over the last few months. I find it so therapeutic & liberating to move my body in a non linear way. It’s really beneficial as my morning practise to release physical tension and lift my mood🤗 It’s helping me get out of my busy head and get into the felt sensations within my body. As a trauma informed Yoga teacher, I get that our bodies hold onto our emotions. I find it fascinating that our past experiences get trapped in our nervous system and our energetic field and can be the cause of unexplained anxiety, reoccurring illnesses and disturbed sleep patterns. I’ve designed this new 90 minute workshop to share some of these practises with you and will be launching it at Sanctuary Health & Wellbeing in Wakefield.
