MAGNETIC ISLAND, AUSTRALIA ๐ Roadtrip: 1 - 3 Mei (for english: press โsee translationโ below) Dit land blijft ons verrassen met de hoeveelheid wildlife die we zien! Magnetic Island is ook echt een wildlife-magneet. We namen de ferry vanaf Townsville en reisden het kleine eiland rond met de bus. Onze dag bestond uit de Forts Walk waar we 3 wilde koalaโs ๐จ hebben gespot, lunchen op het strand van Horseshoe Bay en chillen bij Alma Bay. We wilden gaan snorkelen maar helaas kon dat niet vanwege slecht zicht die dag. Maar dat gaf ons extra veel tijd bij de rock wallabies ๐ฆ We kochten een zakje speciaal voer en hebben ons uren bij Arcadia vermaakt, waar meerdere wallabies vanuit de rotsen tevoorschijn kwamen en zelfs uit onze hand aten - ZO lief en bijzonder! Toen de zon onderging namen we de ferry weer terug. Wist je dat in Australiรซ de zon anders draait dan in Nederland? Omdat Australiรซ in het zuidelijk halfrond ligt, gaat de zon wel op in oosten en onder in het westen, maar hij draait via het noorden in plaats van het zuiden! Rock wallabies of Maggie ๐ฆ A trip to Magnetic Island is not complete without a visit to the rock wallabies. Itโs easily one of my favourite things to do! You can find these little guys at Bremner Point, which can be accessed through Geoffrey Bay ๐ด The best time to visit is in the early morning or late afternoon if you want to spot them venturing from their rocky shelters. If you plan on feeding the rock wallabies, itโs important to give them the right foods.
