I have shot this hut at all different times of the year even once in the snow! The high country cattleman’s huts are a great place to visit at any time of year and at the moment the surrounding snow gums have some nice colour in them which makes for an interesting photograph. Important whale photography info 🐋🐋 When a whale jumps so close and you are already zoomed out and it is still outside the frame (this one 180mm) DO NOT GIVE UP :) Zoom out a little (I zoomed out to 153, 142 and ended up at 135mm) The result was one of the best jumps in 2020 onboard Bubbles with Simon and the team @gowhalewatching Check the sequence I left the first part of the jump as the second image so you can see what I mean and key moments in the jump there after (20 sequence jump) 🐋 The most important part of whale photography is reading the behaviour of the whales and a skipper who can do the same and position the vessel in the best position engaging the whales migratory pattern without effecting the whales behaviour. 🐋 This particular animal was constantly jumping in the distance as we left Sydney heads and luckily continued as we approached and as we returned home. A good whale watching day. 🐠 With my travels around Queensland, I've snorkelled with sea turtles 🐢 in the Great Barrier Reef, seen emus in Winton, watched kangaroos 🦘 in Cape Hillsborough, and cruised past saltwater crocodiles 🐊 in the Daintree.
