Carol plays Françoise in a brief role in which the couple’s romance is scored to the tune of Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. „Wie lange soll ich mich noch mit hinkenden Gespenstern beschäftigen? Das Leben muss weitergehen.“ DIE NACHT DER ROLLENDEN KÖPFE - das ist doch auch mal wieder so ein schön verheißungsvoller Titel. Da weiß man, was einen erwartet. TANZSCHRITTE AUF EINER RASIERKLINGE, so in etwa die Übersetzung des Originaltitels, klingt aber ganz hübsch und bringt den Inhalt dieses ruppigen Giallos elegant auf den Punkt. Inszenatorischer Feinschliff ist hier aber nicht zu erwarten, stattdessen geht es hier grob gewetzt zur Sache; roh und blutig. Maurizio Pradeaux tänzelt in dieser italienisch-spanischen Co-Produktion aus dem Jahre 1972 recht grobmotorig auf Argentos Spuren - diverse Nuditäten inklusive. Die wackelige Kamera sorgt noch einmal für zusätzliche Ecken und Kanten. Mir hat's gefallen. In den Hauptrollen gibt es ein erfreuliches Wiedersehen mit dem durch allerlei Euro-Produktionen bekannten Robert Hoffmann (NEUES VOM HEXER, TOP JOB, SPASMO) und Nieves Navarro alias Susan Scott (NACKT UNTER KANNIBALEN), in weiteren Rollen tauchen u. a. der stets zwielichtige Simon Andrieu, der mit Nieves auch in FRAUEN BIS ZUM WAHNSINN GEQUÄLT zu sehen war, und in einem hübsch-skurrilen Gastauftritt der allgegenwärtige Sal Borgese (DJANGO - SEIN GESANGSBUCH WAR DER COLT, SARTANA, VERFLUCHT, VERDAMMT UND HALLELUJA etc.) auf. Den ermittelnden Inspektor gibt Spaghettiwestern-Legende George Martin (EINE PISTOLE FÜR RINGO), der auch mit am Drehbuch herumwuselte. DIE NACHT DER ROLLENDEN KÖPFE erschien als #22 innerhalb der wunderprächtigen Italofilm-Reihe von Cineploit. Hervorzuheben ist hier auch das 70minütige Featurette „Österreicher in Italien". „Ein Psychopath mordet mit dem Rasiermesser Tänzerinnen und Zeugen. Gutted by @liquidrotdeathmetal Obscure death metal filth from Italy. Each brutal song has that 'cavernous' quality. It's doomy, soaked in reverb and sounds like it was recorded in a crypt. The drums pummel and pound but the riffs cut through the mix cleanly like a knife through flesh. Plus, the intro sounds like it was ripped straight out of a forgotten Giallo film! Two flicks for Tuesday! Gotta have an awesome Double Feature with two of my all time favorite Giallo films. A Blade in the Dark is an absolute gem from start to finish with some really gnarly kills and wonderful sound and set design. Four flies is my favorite of Argento’s work and I’m so glad that I have this 4K from @severinfilms I watched it for the first time when I got it originally and it immediately became the top flick. That ending scene my god it still sticks in my mind. So well done. And in true Giallo fashion both of these flicks have you guessing the killer up until the end and it makes it all the more satisfying when you finally get the reveals. 📼 Suspiria (Dario Argento 1977) 「サスペリア」 Edición japonesa en VHS 🇯🇵 He leído muchas comparaciones éstos últimos meses con la versión de Luca Guadagnino que se estrenó el 2018. Y a simple vista la prefieren más que la original, y en algunos casos hablan muy mal de la versión de Argento. Independiente de los gustos o de la generación que venga un comentario negativo sobre una obra clásica, hay que tener cierta conciencia de acuerdo al año de estreno, el contexto y la identidad de la obra en éste caso. La versión moderna de Guadagnino a mí me gustó, pero siempre es un riesgo hacer un remake de un clásico, casi un suicidio, aunque es difícil elegir cuál es "mejor". Suspiria del '77 no la he visto millones de veces, ni soy ultra fan para defenderla a muerte, pero es una de las pioneras del giallo, lo que la hace una pieza indispensable del género del horror. El encanto de este género no va mucho en un guión muy elaborado y/o complejo, si no más en su maravillosa propuesta visual, el suspenso y la emoción slasher que caracteriza esta corriente. Pasos de Muerte en la Oscuridad (Mauricio Pradeaux, 1977). Durante un viaje en tren de Estambul a Atenas, una chica es asesinada en un vagón a oscuras. La policía investigará a los pasajeros del vagón uno por uno en busca del asesino, pero eso no hará que se detengan las muertes. Uno de los mejores títulos de la historia del giallo para una peli bastante curiosa, entretenida mientras se mantiene en los cánones normales del género (incluso tiene una escena excelente, la muerte de las dos chicas en el piso de la cantante), pero con momentos de humor, algunos graciosos aunque otros bastante absurdos, que te sacan de la atmósfera de la trama.
