I’ll be honest, this was the third oracle card I pulled from the Embroidered Graveyard Oracle and it still doesn’t seem to fit. And I know “thats not how pulling cards works!”, whatever that should mean. I love this deck for its aesthetic but therein lies the limit of my love for it. It’s just not an intuitive reader for me and that’s okay. I’ve learned over the years that I’m not much of an oracle deck girlie, and when I am it’s for decks with keywords. Perhaps I’ll take the time to create a list of keywords for each card in this deck, but honestly it might just be used for altar cards from now on. We’re a week into April and I’m finally picking my decks for this month! I have so many tarot-related books and have sampled most of them but rarely finished any, so I’m adding a book to each month’s deck edit. Starting with the original printing of “Psychic Tarot” by Craig Junjulas featuring the Aquarian Tarot. US Games recently re-released the Aquarian Tarot complete with a reprinting of this book, and I have both vintage editions (this book was printed the year I was born!). I’m unsure if any updates were published within the new edition. New to my collection is the white edition of The Embroidered Graveyard Oracle, which I backed on Kickstarter last year. This edition features a few new cards, and the guidebook has been diminished to fit inside the box. This white edition is much more my vibe - I am such a pink & gold girlie, and it’s so pastel goth. The black edition is also hard on my aging eyes, so I hope this edition will get more use since it’s among my favorite oracles. Finally, my second-favorite deck ever, the Ethereal Visions Tarot. Second only to my soul deck, The Wild Unknown, this is the deck with which I had my first tarot reading by someone other than myself. It was so profound, I had to get my own copy. I just love how these two decks look in the sunshine!!☀️✨ After pulling the empress this morning, I asked what guidance mother energy held for me today. I pulled two kings from the upcoming Black Salt Tarot by @larkandlegend, which really interested me. To start, it really showcased how beautifully Logan has done away with the gender binary really ingrained in, but not at all necessary to, the tarot. This really helped to neutralize the black and white thinking I’m working hard to unlearn around many common archetypes we see across many forms of divination. I haven’t pulled a single card since Halloween. I think I experienced deck overwhelm last month with all my spooky selections, so for November I am keeping it simple. Here are the decks I’m working with this month: The Wandering Spirit Tarot - I’ve been struggling with depression and this deck personifies grief, our inner being, and the dance we all do in dealing with mental health. In general, I feel like this is the perfect deck to work with post-All Soul’s Day. The Embroidered Graveyard Oracle - I couldn’t get enough of this deck last month and it’s perfect for year-round work. Plus it looks gorgeous with the tarot deck I listed above.
