The Inside O - inside the Double O arch at night. This was a tricky shot and I’m not sure I’m fine processing it yet! I climbed up inside the arch in the pitch black on the slick rock, and perched high up on the steep slope in a position to get the arch overhead. This was an adventure by itself! This is a 3 shot vertorama and I wanted the arch overhead and also the full opening with the windows section of the park framed with the Milky Way in the arch. A little light painting has lifted the shadows slightly. I’ve stacked here as setting up the tracker and then blending foreground and tracked arches would have been a nightmare! A full day strenuous hike at the Arches National Park and we could see over 20 arches...and I understand there are 2000+ of these magnificent natural structures. 📍Arches Nationalpark USA Roadtrip, Ende Oktober 2023 Endlich hatte ich wieder die Muse und die Zeit mehr Fotos vom USA Rodatrip rauszusuchen 😊 Der Name des Nationalparks ist, denke ich, selbsterklärend 😅 Im ganzen Park sind immer wieder zum Teil riesige Arches zu sehen, wie der Delicate Arch (1. Bild), Double-O-Arch (4. Bild) oder Landscape Arch (9. Bild). Die meisten Arches sind recht gut bei einer kurzen Wanderung erreichbar. Aber wir wollten natürlich mehr als nur eine leichte Wanderung machen...und sind den "primitive trail" gegangen. Dabei haben wir uns richtig verlaufen (Beschilderung war Mangelware)...ohne Handyempfang und nur selten GPS. 照片竟然黑頻重來一次 終於到了葉威傳說中的拱門國家公園 葉威說的精緻拱門步道很困難 今天已經開了一趟長途車 就留著明天來挑戰 看著圖片搜著景點 看著到雙o拱門看來很美 就把它拿來當散步🚶🚶‍♀️ 順便拍拍美照❤️ 結果又是爬上爬下的 走在不是正常道路的岩石上 後來才知道這邊是惡魔花園步道 岩石一列一列的整齊排序 也是未來拱門形成的地方 步道大多都是原始步道 只能依靠一段一段的指標 來找到方向 頓時之間真的有種會迷路在野外的即視感 頗有電影127小時的畫面 搞一搞來回又走了兩個小時 回來還不夠 一個圈的拱門也要看 又是腿力爆表的一天 還好事先預判穿了登山鞋 不然腳直接廢了😂 #doubleoarch #landscapearch #tunnelarch #pinetreearch #devilsgardentrail #archnationalpark #utah #拱門國家公園 #美國公路旅行

Photo dump #2 Arches National Park/Moab - We only had one day, so we picked two hikes: - Delicate Arch, early morning - Double O Arch, mid-day Recommendations: Arrive EARLY, ideally before 7. If you arrive after 7, you’ll need to apply for a timed-entry permit, and you may not control what time you get. We didn’t wait at all on entering the park, and there were plenty of parking spots. We left the park around 2PM, and there appeared to be about an hour wait with the cars lined up to get in. If we were to do it again, we’d try for a sunset hike to Delicate Arch instead of sunrise. If you opt for sunset, you’ll need a head lamp. Delicate Arch is worth doing because it’s iconic, but Double O Arch has a lot more going on. I recommend taking the side adventures to see Navajo and Partition Arches en route to Double O. Bryce Canyon National Park - We only had one day, so we picked one hike and a drive: - Navajo Loop & Queens Garden Trail - Rainbow Point (drive) Recommendations: Any of the hikes will give you a sense of the beautiful landscape, which features the world’s largest concentration of hoodoos. We would have hiked Navajo to Wallstreet, but Wallstreet was shut down due to ice. Instead, we hiked Navajo Loop and Queens Garden Trail, and it was spectacular. This park would be an ideal spot for those who lack mobility. The Double O Arch is a remarkable natural formation located in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah. It’s known for its unique structure, consisting of two large arches stacked on top of each other. The larger “O” has a span of 71 feet, while the smaller arch beneath it measures approximately 21 feet across.

Went for a little jaunt in @archesnps yesterday on one of the few trails that I hadn’t yet hiked in the park. I hiked/jogged out to Double O Arch, and then made my way to Dark Angel and completed the primitive loop to head back to the Devils Garden Trailhead. It was windy! The radio was saying 40-50 mile per hour gusts. There is dust in my eyes, my ears, and all throughout my hair! It did provide for some quiet trails and I didn’t see anyone for about two miles! Our hike to Double O Arch was 9 kilometres there and back because we stopped and looked at almost every arch on our way. The last portion of the hike is quite challenging, the rocks are narrow and slippery. How many arches are too many arches? 📍Arches National Park Delicate Arch Turret Arch North Window Double-O Landscape Arch Navajo Arch Arches National Park is aptly named for many natural stone arches in the park. There are over 2000 arches in the park. Some of our favorites are here in this post. Delicate Arch is amazing for sunrise and sunset. It's situated at the edge of a cliff and has the amazing La Sal mountains in the backdrop. This Arch is featured on the Utah license plate, it’s an icon for not just Utah, but the entire desert Southwest. You have to hike up to the arch (3.2mi, 650ft) but it's totally worth it. Turret Arch and North Window is part of a small trail that also covers the South Window. The trail is just off of the parking lot so it gets quite crowded during sunsets. Double-O, Landscape and Navajo can all be seen on the Devil's Garden Trail. This is a 4.5mi, 600ft elevation gain trail that covers many other arches as well through short trail popping off from the main trail. You may also choose to do the full loop by continuing on from the Double-O arch onto the primitive trail. This part is considered much more challenging. The Landscape arch is just 6 feet thick at its thinnest section, yet it supports a span of rock 290 feet long. The Navajo arch is a nice detour on the trail, as it creates a nice frame for the native vegetation in the area. 🥾 Entire Devils Garden Trail 📍 @archesnps 1️⃣ Black Arch Overlook - Before you reach Double O Arch, there is a 2-minute detour to see Black Arch and some amazing landscape views. 2️⃣ Double O Arch - Double O Arch is the second largest arch within the Devils Garden area after Landscape Arch. As the name implies, there are two arches, one large, with a span of 71 feet, stacked atop a much smaller arch spanning 21 feet. Both are part of the same sandstone fin. Double O Arch is located at the far end of the Devils Garden Primitive Loop, 1.93 miles past the Devils Garden trailhead. 3️⃣ Dark Angel - A giant pillar of sandstone rock, Dark Angel is located on a 0.8 mile detour from Double O Arch. I love the WPA style of design/illustration. Like a pair of 501s, it’s a classic. This is of the most impressive “Double O Arch” in the aptly named Arches National Park. I wonder if just after naming Double Arch, they found this one and were like “well great, what do we call this one now?” “Uh... Double.... O... Arch??” Fun fact- I, foolishly, decided to hike this several years ago in July mid-day. I ran into a nice older fellow on the way back that didn’t have any water, so we both shared what was left in my nalgene. I ended up with heat exhaustion and was sick the rest of the night. USA Part X: Arches National Park is one of the most famous parks in the USA. We arrived late and were very lucky to get a parking space in the middle of the park. So we were able to take a hike through the stone arch landscape of the park late in the evening. It was a great feeling to be alone with this nature. Woke up at 4:30 a.m. and hiked in the dark for the first time for this amazing sunrise view. Day 2 in Moab, we were up early to see sunrise at #archesnationalpark #delicatearch . Traversing through land once inhabited by dinosaurs we were in awe at every trail and Arch we encountered, we only accomplished 5 of the many offered until our feet simply could not take anymore. After delicious lunch at Love Muffin Cafe and some rest, we hit the rocks again! This time for an AMAZING (and crazy) experience with @highpointhummer for a guided sunset Rock climb at legendary Hell's Revenge. The adrenalin was pumping, the views were amazing, and the terrain was wild. We could not have asked for a better day and experience. The arches of Devil’s Garden… Seeing these things in person is sooooo different than seeing them in pictures! The size and beauty of the arches need to be seen first hand to appreciate them. Devil’s Garden had 8 total arches, including the longest arch in the United States, Landscape Arch (306 ft.). Arches National Park Part II: Hike to Double O Arch via Devil's Garden with @luisotavioalba. We did 9 km out and back, but this one really is a choose your own adventure type trail. If you are looking for somewhere cool to get lost, Devil's Garden is the place. This place is absolutely amazing with it's many trails, arches, and overlooks to choose from. First image is of Pine Tree Arch, then Landscape Arch, and then Double O. Next time we head back here we will make sure to have more time to complete the "Primative" portion of the Devil's Garden loop! 23rd August 2023 #DevilsGarden #arches #nationalpark #utah Devils Garden is located at the northern end of the park, 18 miles from the park entrance This trailhead offers a range of hiking experiences, from easy to strenuous We chose the strenuous one obviously..primitive path included! 🙄 The Entire #DevilsGardenTrail is: 7.9 mi Roundtrip and it took us 4 hours to complete it  This challenging hike involves narrow ledges, steep exposures, uneven surfaces, rock scrambling, and few trail markers A hard-packed trail led us to #LandscapeArch a spectacular ribbon of rock (Spur trails allowed us to admire also #PineTreeArch and #TunnelArch )   Landscape Arch is the longest arch in #NorthAmerica with a light opening of 306 feet This awe-inspiring expanse is only 6 feet in diameter at its narrowest Large segments of the arch came crashing down in the 1990s – proof that the park’s landscape can change dramatically in an instant. Although other arches have fallen, Landscape Arch still hangs on by a very thin thread Past Landscape Arch, the trail climbed steeply over sandstone slabs. There were uneven surfaces and narrow ledges with steep drop-offs until we reached the marvellous #DoubleOArch  A spur trails led us to #DarkAngelarch then from there we decided to go back to trailhead via the #primitivetrail 🥵 That was a real solitary adventure!! October is now my favorite time of year to visit all of these amazing parks in Southern Utah. When I was here last in June, 6 years ago, it was over 90 degrees in the afternoon and I absolutely died of heat & sweat visiting these views. Landscape arch, double O arch, the windows, double arch, sky arch. We’ve seen them all! More of Arches National Park. Devils garden trail is definitely not for the faint of heart. We took the primitive trail and it required me to really step out of my comfort zone in a few areas. A few times I questioned my ability to make it to the next step but Jeff was there to help me through my fear. Other times I just got on my butt and slowly slid my way down.
