Just delivered this adventurous backpacking session from Grand Staircase-Escalante! 🥾 We hiked about 5 miles, exploring these insane slot canyons. This was such an amazing experience and it was so fun to photograph Stephen and Maggie in their element. I’m heading into what’s going to be my busiest week of the year! Usually my busiest week falls in September or October, but Spring Break is always busy too. Over the next 11 days, I have 5 weddings and 6 sessions. And it’s gonna be so so good. You’ll see in the last photo a sign that shows how narrow the slot canyons get. I think it’s about 10” wide? There have been a number of instances where people have gotten stuck and had to be airlifted out, hence the warning sign. I’d venture to say there are a few spots that are a bit more narrow than that. We had to consistently take our bags off and throw them ahead to get up, down, and around boulders and through very narrow passageways. I managed to scrape up most of my gear but kept my camera safe!
