Hi I’m Megan, a marketing Assistant here a Zatu and the game I’ve picked this week is… Colour Brain!! My current standout game, Colourbrain aims to be the quiz for those who aren’t good at quizzes. It does this by handing you all the answer cards in the form of 11 colour cards. Helpfully these are coloured and written on so that there is no debate about what colour a card is. Each player of team gets a power card to use, when they are losing to severely limit the leading teams options and give them a chance to catch up. Because the questions are greatly varied across different themes and categories every player feels involved and has a good chance to compete. Due to being a hockey mom and hockey taking over our lives for the past 4 months, I haven't got a lot of board gaming in lately. But tonight I got invited to my first board game evening this year, where hockey didn't interfere. We were expecting the possibility of a few non board gamers showing up, and a higher player count so sided on busting out the lighter games, with a few more in depth ones thrown in just in case there were no shows. 😍 La mia nuova droga: i giochi da tavolo (quando sei nerd nell’anima…). Un gruppo di appassionati mi ha contagiata, così da qualche mese ho attivato una serie di bieche strategie (tipo costringere i parenti a regarmene a ogni occasione) e ho costruito una piccola collezione che uso e riuso in famiglia e con amici. 💁♀️ Alcuni giochi sono complessi e si basano su strategie anche elaborate. Ma per chi volesse provarne di divertenti, insomma semplici da ridere in compagnia, e non i soliti Taboo o Trivial Pursuit, in queste due immagini ce ne sono 6 che mi hanno fatto passare serate spassosissime. Non sia mai che a qualcuno faccia comodo conoscerli. ➡️ Mantis – gioco di carte le cui combinazioni si basano su sette diversi colori e SOPRATTUTTO sulla possibilità di fregarsi le carte a vicenda. ➡️ Taco gatto capra cacio pizza – gioco di carte in cui ci si salta addosso sbattendo le mani sul tavolo o facendo gesti inconsulti e poi comunque finendo per sbattere le mani sul tavolo. Lividi e risate. ➡️ Just One – ci si ammazza dalle risate. Basta. Non dico altro. ➡️ Colour Brain – gioco a squadre, dove per rispondere a delle domande si gettano sul tavolo delle carte colorate (difetto: quando sono state usate tutte le “carte-domanda”, il gioco va regalato o venduto perché a quel punto sono state svelate tutte le risposte). ➡️ Exploding Kittens – gioco di carte raffiguranti dei gatti, il cui scopo è provarle tutte per eliminare gli altri giocatori, della serie “ne resterà soltanto uno”. ➡️ The Mind – dove bisogna mettere sul tavolo delle carte numerate in ordine crescente SENZA poter scambiare mezza parola fra giocatori. 🇺🇸/🇬🇧 in comments 🇩🇪Auch in dieser Woche haben wir wieder eine faszinierende Zeit erlebt. Am Montagabend begaben wir uns erneut auf die abenteuerliche Suche nach Professor Kutil in der Kampagne von #DieVerlorenenRuinen von Arnak und konnten ihn diesmal erfolgreich finden. Nun sind wir voller Vorfreude darauf, welche aufregenden Wendungen uns in den beiden verbleibenden Szenarien erwarten, nachdem wir den Professor einmal aufgespürt haben. Der Freitagabend stand ganz im Zeichen unserer traditionellen #FridayBoardGameNight. Zuerst tauchten wir ein in die Welt des Wissens und notierten es akribisch in #BücherDerZeit. Anschließend widmeten wir uns dem raffinierten Plan, unsere Familie mit List und Geschick an die Macht zu bringen, um den Thron in #Oriflamme zu sichern. In einem packenden Kräftemessen versuchten wir, Tokyo in #KingOfTokyo zu erobern, indem wir die Würfel mit Taktik und Strategie rollten, um uns gegenseitig zu übertreffen. Zum krönenden Abschluss verteidigten wir erneut unsere Insel gegen Eindringlinge in #SpiritIsland. Diese Woche nahmen wir außerdem an "Ingolstadt spielt" teil, einer bezaubernden Veranstaltung des AliBaba Spieleclubs. Dort wagten wir uns daran, einen bisher unbekannten Planeten in #PlanetUnknown für unsere Zwecke nutzbar zu machen. Im Anschluss an dieses Abenteuer folgte ein gemeinsamer Ausbruchsversuch aus einem Zoo in #KuZOOka. Danach stellten wir uns der fesselnden Aufgabe, Drachen in #DrachenHüter zu schützen. Als Adlige veranstalteten wir in #AdelVerpflichtet ein elegantes Wettrennen zum Dinner. Ebenso versuchten wir in #Tsuro, unsere Meeple geschickt auf einem Pfad zu lenken, ohne dass sie vom Spielfeld fielen. Eine faszinierende Runde des Erkundens unentdeckter Gebiete erlebten wir in #DieGildeDerFahrendenHändler. Und zum krönenden Abschluss genossen wir zwei kleinere, aber nicht weniger unterhaltsame Spiele, nämlich #ColourBrain und #Mantis.

Colourbrain aims to be the quiz for those who aren’t good at quizzes. It does this by handing you all the answer cards in the form of 11 colour cards. Helpfully these are coloured and written on so that there is no debate about what colour a card is. A question card will be drawn and it’s your job to answer with the relevant colour cards. For example you might be asked about the colours of the power rangers and you’d answer with the correct cards. #day7 of the #21daysinmyartworld and the day’s prompt is colour palette. This is my current colour palette and uses the colours that I return to a lot in one way or another; the reds, greens and yellows in my palette are very underemployed and in some sets I haven’t even opened them! I love bright colours, always with lots of pigment and deep rich saturation for intensity and vividness. I did struggle for a long time with the concept of watercolours as I would always try and push them into such depth of colour and my first love is always gouache. My very good friend in Uzbekistan called this kind of palette the jewel colours, and I think that is a pretty good description. Bright, bold and beautiful. I think about colour a lot- probably more than most *normal people* and colour affects me a lot mentally as well, nothing is more satisfying than seeing a delicious colour combo out in the wild wherever it crops up. Where we live in Japan is surprisingly not colourful- the modern Japan design aesthetic is minimal and plain- mostly a shades of milk coffee palette is favoured, apart from when the spring wildflowers crop up and throw their bold sassy selves around randomly. My favourite part of Nagoya is downtown called Osu which is where all the colours of Japan dance in all their glory- secondhand kimono shops and their accoutrements that are filled with beautiful bright colours and the shops of young fashion and product designers. My colour brain always feels refreshed when I visit there :) I usually swatch in a sketchbook but loved seeing @taraleaver post where she swatches on small squares of paper- brilliant. Good Day! 🙂 Today I have been fortunate to have low pain levels. This is useful as I had a B12 injection this morning and needed to be able to walk into the doctor’s surgery for the jab. I will be given five doses of B12, having one dose every other day. The injection isn’t painful, I just hope I’m not in pain on the other days I need to get there 🤞🤞 I also had a visit today from the fabulous @dremcintosh73 ! Was great to catch up in person, where I could complain about life face to face rather than through texts as usual 😂😜. In between me moaning 😂, we did manage to play a game of ColourBrain- which by some miracle I won. (Not letting that go Esther 🥇😂). Made it my mission to teach #carcassonne multiple times today as it had a deeper significance today for me.
