We got another person onto Dinogenics!! 🥰✨🦕 When @samjermy87 had his brother over to stay, they made the correct decision to set this up for our Sunday morning game ❤️🙌 honestly I was so excited when I came downstairs and saw it out on the table since what felt like forever!! 🤔 When we talk about games, we keep mentioning expectations. And it's actually important to build up correct expectations for everything you do, so you approach that thing with the right plan in mind. But you're not going to get it right every time - and with Anunnaki from @craniocreations_official, so did we. Let us explain. 📈 Well, when we saw the game for the first time we weren't that impressed - Alien "houses" (gods) descending onto Earth. Meh, a bit weird (we had our initial expectations set). Then we found out who designed it. Hype! We were pretty excited when we got it home from Spiel last year. The next step was the unboxing and well... you already know we were pretty dissapointed. And now, after a few more plays we can only say that Anunnaki is a damn good game. This was an emotional rollercoaster. ❤️ As you know, we usually don't like area control/area majority games - they don't really work with two players and Ariana is also not a conflictual person. But there is something about this one that just makes it exciting - and it must be fact that you can do so much more on your turn besides fighting for control. The puzzle than unfolds in front of you is quite special - the board layout is unique each game, so you have to compute the optimal chain of actions to fulfil your goals as soon as possible: and with a few mana crystals it gets even more interesting. Time is limited, so every decision matters - and there's plenty of planning involved as well. Delicious. ⚡️ The gods will boost your game (they're gods after all), so timing is critical - summoning a god at the right time can be devastating for the opponent (or just highly beneficial for you). However, battles feel juuust a bit too simplistic and we also wish there would be more end-game objectives to score (all 4 are used each game), but Anunnaki has been a great 4X euro. 🤐 We rate it as a 7.5/10, but it could've been much higher if it wasn't for the component quality (especially the terrible player boards). Winner, winner, chicken dinner! 🤩 Hubby & I had about an hour to burn on Sunday before a scheduled call with family, so I suggested a quick game of Fantasy Realms. We actually ended up getting 3 games in, & wonder of all wonders, I WON ALL 3!! 😲 If you’ve been around for awhile, you’ve probably heard me complain about how hubby wins most games we play. And I generally don’t mind because I just enjoy playing just for the shared activity, but when I do win, I get pretty excited. 🥳 ▫️▫️▫️ Since I log all of our plays in the @BGStatsApp, I happened to notice that these 3 wins really swayed the stats in my favor for this game. Hubby & I have played 14 times since @CoffeeAndCooperation gifted me Fantasy Realms, & I’ve won 9 of them! I think hubby wants to blame the luck of the draw, but I think there’s skill in knowing when to pivot your strategy when the cards aren’t going the way you hope. For example, when I drew the Gem of Order card, I thought I’d get points for only a 3-card run, but when I saw other cards in the discard area that fit, I completely changed what I was collecting & ended up getting my highest score ever. So many trains, so little time 🤷♂️ • Locked myself in early on and struggled to keep up the whole game. Shares were issued, tears were cried. Tried to make it so we both lost, but my girlfriend met the cube requirement in the end 🤷♂️ Final scores were 71-40.

Binnen vijf minuten heb je de spelregels geleerd, binnen tien minuten heb je een ronde gespeeld en daarnaast is de puntentelling erg eenvoudig. Doordat het zo snel klaar en leuk is, spelen wij altijd graag nog een extra ronde tegen elkaar. En omdat het spel alleen werkt met afbeeldingen, lijkt Deep Dive ons geschikt om eventueel te spelen met kinderen vanaf 7 jaar. 𝗪𝐚𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐠𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝟏𝟎? 🤷♂️🤷♀️ Het is vooral risico's nemen en geluk hebben met slechts een klein vleugje tactiek. Je kunt je partner niet echt dwarsbomen om meer punten te halen dan jij. De enige manier is om zo snel mogelijk de fiches uit één diepte om te draaien. Dat het snel klaar is, is misschien ook enigszins het nadeel van het spel. Na elke ronde vinden wij het jammer dat het alweer is afgelopen. Er zijn gelukkig wel extra fiches die bestemd zijn voor meer dan drie spelers, welke je kunt gebruiken om je spelplezier te verlengen. 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐠 📖 In Deep Dive is het de bedoeling om de meeste en/of waardevolle vissen te vangen met jouw drie pinguïns. Om dat te doen, is het aan jou om je pinguïns de diepte in te laten duiken. Er zijn vijf soorten fiches die ieder een eigen diepte aantonen. Leg het benodigde aantal fiches per diepte klaar en sorteer de lagen op diepte. Ben je aan zet, dan mag jij beginnen met het omdraaien van een fiche in diepte 1. Heb je een mooie vis te pakken, dan mag je ervoor kiezen om het te laten liggen en dieper te duiken naar de volgende laag. Heb je echter een jagersfiche omgedraaid, dan ben jij één van jouw drie pinguïns kwijt en begin je met je tweede pinguïn weer vanaf diepte 1. Recuerda a otros pero suficientemente distinto como para convertirse en el preferido por muchos. 🧛♀️ Drácula vs Van Helsing, mucho pique y ganas de repetir. Puede parecer que es cuestión de suerte pero tiene más decisiones de lo que aparenta. 🍺 Karvi, puede que esté por debajo del radar de muchos, pero tiene una mecánica de rondel interesante (recuerda a Heaven & Ale entre otros) y es un peso medio alto que aprieta de lo lindo. ⚔ War Chest, de los autores de Undaunted, un abstracto de enfrentamiento con una mecánica de construcción de bolsa de fichas. In het eerste deel klom je op je boot om de wateren en eilanden te ontdekken, terwijl je in dit deel gebruik mag maken van een vliegtuig. ✈️ En dat heeft een aantal voordelen. Zo is de volgorde van de beurt logischer en soepeler en kun je makkelijker naar verschillende delen van de enorme wereld hoppen. Dat scheelt weer vaartijd en geeft je meer speeltijd! ❤️ Een ander voordeel ten opzichte van het eerste deel? De gevechten zijn soepeler en tactischer, omdat je nu gebruik maakt van kaarten. 🇳🇱/🇬🇧⬇️ Afgelopen weekend gespeeld 🎲 Afgelopen weekend heb ik afgetrapt met een bordspelavondje waarbij we Het Verboden Eiland 🏝 en Books of Time 📚 voor het eerst speelden. Zaterdag ging ik vrolijk door met Cellulose 🦠 en kwam Books of Time 📚 weer op tafel. Dat was een succes dus! Daarna werd tot in de late uurtjes Sleeping Gods ⛴️ gespeeld en daarmee de eerste campagne afgerond. On Saturday, I continued merrily with Cellulose 🦠 and Books of Time 📚 returned to the table. So that was a success! Then Sleeping Gods ⛴️ was played until late into the night, thus completing the first campaign. Welcome to your Scare BnB! Once you check in, you’ll never check out! ☠️ Scare BnB is a new card game from @wickedweirdgames launching on Kickstarter today! In this game, players will be building a haunted house for their opponents out of 9 cards. They’ll place them face down and mix them up so that no one knows what they are. Then you’ll pick three guests to stay at your haunted house and place them nearby. On your turn, you’ll flip a card to reveal a room in your house. The goal of the game is to get all of your guests out first! But to do that, you’ll need to find the key and the door to escape! Sounds easy enough right? But if you flip over the door first and haven’t found the key, then the house rearranges itself! Another player gets to mix around the rooms in your house. This reminds me of Boo’s mansion in the Mario games when the rooms all shift and move. First player to find the key and the door and get all three of their guests to safety wins! This one is a family-friendly blast! There’s no language dependency, and it’s super easy to setup and get into. The art is pretty incredible as there are 4 distinct haunted houses, each with their own art style. And every card is a little miniature work of art with so many details. The gameplay itself is pretty straightforward with a mix of memory, bluffing, and a smidge of take-that… but it’s no brain burner. And the games go quick enough that you can play a bunch in a row. There’s a row of 5 monster cards that make up the crowd at the concert. On your turn, you’ll draw cards from the deck or the crowd or the discard pile up to 6 cards. The goal is to play suited runs of cards to score points. There are also action cards like crowd surfing and wall of death to spice things up a bit. Seems pretty straightforward right? But hidden in the deck is the Monster Hunter, the one who is trying to crash the party! Literally! Monster Mosh Pit is a great themed set collector that’s easy to get into. The action cards provide good variations in strategy and play, and the monster hunter always throws a monkey wrench into the mosh pit! I also really love the art style on this one! There’s different card art for all the different monsters in the deck, so you’ll never know what’s going to pop up next! 🇩🇪 (English in the comments) 🍏 Spots 🍏 Niedlich, niedlicher, Spots! Das Spiel ist purer Zucker wenn ihr mich fragt! Bezaubernde Würfel mit Dalmatiner-Flecken, kleine Holzknochen und niedliche Hundeillustrationen, alle mit eigenem Hundenamen – wer schmilzt da nicht dahin? Ok, Katzenmenschen vielleicht nicht! Spots ist Push your Luck vom Feinsten! Ziel ist es als Erster sechs seiner Hunde zum Spielen zu schicken. Und so geht’s: alle Spieler bekommen zu Beginn zwei graue Hundekarten mit freien Würfelfeldern sowie einem Gartenplättchen. Die Felder gilt es mit passenden Würfeln zu füllen, danach darf man eine gefüllte Karte auf die blaue Seite drehen und quasi werten (Wauzi zum Spielen schicken), sowie die abgelegten Karten durch neue vom Nachziehstapel ersetzen. Die Würfel liegen alle in einer gemeinsamen Auslage, sowie 6 verschiedene Aktionskarten. Abwechselnd darf man sich eine aktive Aktion aussuchen. Nach Nutzung wird die Aktion inaktiv, bis die Auslage wieder aufgefrischt wird. So kann man mit den verschiedensten Wurfkombinationen versuchen seine Hundekarten zu füllen. Der Twist am Spiel: in den allermeisten Fällen darf nur einmal gewürfelt werden. Hat man keine freien oder passenden Würfelfelder zum Ablegen dieses Wurfes, muss man überzählige Würfel im Garten vergraben. Sind im Garten 7 oder mehr Würfelaugen „vergraben“ verliert man alle bisherigen platzierten Würfel und muss wieder von vorne anfangen. Da kann man sich ganz schön ärgern wenn das Würfelglück nicht so recht mitspielen will. Ich mag Push your Luck, ich mag Hunde, ich mag Würfel und ich mag auch einen kleinen Ärgerfaktor. Wenn das Spiel dann auch noch so niedlich und ehemanntauglich ist, dann darf es natürlich im Regal bleiben! Und es muss nie Gassi gehen! Also pflegeleicht!
