MEET THE AUTHOR! I’ve been a lifelong horror fan since 1987. From lurking the VHS box art in the horror aisle at Blockbuster to devouring all the Goosebumps books I could get my hands on, I’ve always been drawn to the spooky and macabre. As a kid I often spent weekends behind my typewriter, trying to craft the spookiest tales I could. In fourth grade I made my own series of books called Slime Time by folding a few pieces of paper together and writing a short horror tale inside. I still have most of these today almost 25 years later and cranked out more than 50 of them between 1997 and 1998. I am so excited to release BUMPS IN THE NIGHT. This has been a dream mine since I was six years old. R. L. Stine has always been an idol of mine. It's time to talk about the rarest Bone Chillers book and quite possibly the rarest book I have in my collection period.I just finished Killer Clowns of Kings Country.I was blessed enough to own this book through a good friend that gave me a good deal on it,so thank you !The story itself is about this kid named Zeke having a birthday party and is pretty embarrassed by having a clown invited thanks to his mom.His mom begs him to come downstairs and join the party with his friends/frienemies Joanah and Eddie.Here we meet the clown Idris Zanzabar Mcfloot and he does a few creepy things like make things appear out of a hat and know all of the kids names.Joanah makes a comment about clowns and Idris doesn't seem to like that.He whispers some cringy thing about turning Joanah into a handkerchief dork to Zeke.But Zeke is impressed with all of this clowns tricks and wants to learn more ,so Idris invites the three kids to a clown college.Eddie though, doesn't want anything to do with this clown because he heard a story about this clown in a hat from his older brother that ended with these kids missing. The three kids end up going anyway and the clown gives them a book each titled the great clown handbook.They also get one item from the clown each.Joanah I think gets a flower squirter. Eddie gets a Red rubber nose and Zeke gets a hat that makes things disappear. After this the kids begin to change into clowns basically for around 70 or so pages. It starts with Eddie who can't get his nose off. Zeke's hair turns orange and Joanah is handkerchiefs stuck in her mouth.They also get the white powdery stuff all over their face and it won't come off. And Zeke has uncontrollable laughter .That's basically the plot of Killer Clowns Of Kings County. In case you can't tell this book was incredibly bad.It was boring and very slow paced. The scariest scene in the whole book is where Idris pops up at Zeke's house and somehow lures the kids to get into his car ,which by the way wasn't a small car. It was a limousine.That was an easy joke to make and the author didn't even follow through.(Review continued in the comments.)

Scare Bear from the Bone Chillers series is a book that I had very high expectations for and it did deliver towards the end.But I did have a few problems with it around the middle mark. You'll see why.The story starts off with Timmy celebrating his 12th birthday and talking to his mom about growing up and wanting to be called Tim from now on.His mom hints around that he should get rid of a lot of his toys that he doesn't play with anymore because that's the adult thing to do ,as well as cleaning his room. He throws out a bunch of toys and he finds his teddy bear named baby Curly that he's had since he was a kid.He throws the bear in a trash bag hesitantly.As he's throwing the bear away though he thinks that he hears the bear say something along the lines of "don't throw me away"That night there's a very bad thunderstorm and his trash can gets blown over and in one of the more incredible scenes, he sees the bear crawling towards the house. But he thinks it's just an animal.He goes outside and he finds the bear so he brings it back inside.We learn that Tim has a major love interest in a girl named Jane and an ex best friend named Ross ,who is basically a bully now.The next day there is this baseball game and Tim gets picked last and gets hit in the head and gets made fun of by Ross in front of Jane.Tim comes home miserable when he hears a voice that sounds like a baby saying he can make Jane his girlfriend.Now if this happened to me I'd freak but Tim listens.It turns out it is the bear.Baby Curly gives Tim little hints to help himself out on how to do all of this.One of the things he says is reward follows effort.The next day his dad invites Tim to go to the library to return and get some books.This scene is really fun because not only does the nostalgia hit but the author breaks the fourth wall by mentioning multiple book series including Bone Chillers.He runs into Jane and she basically invites him to a dance at school but not before getting shot by a toy gun from her little brother.Tim is worried though as he cannot dance to save his life, but dont worry the bear teaches him how to dance.Yes.(Review continued in the comments.)

Can’t believe I’m able to share this… Goosebumps artist Tim Jacobus painted this piece in 1997. It was made for what was meant to be the 25th book of the Bone Chillers series. The book, titled “Open Wide,” was never published, and to my knowledge, this painting has never been shared with the public. I was able to get this image because I’m buying another piece from Tim. Yesterday, while I had him on the phone I asked him about this painting. He immediately said, “Oh yeah that was a good one!” To which I responded, “Yeah but no one’s ever seen it!” Tim laughed and said he’d search his attic and, if he happened to see the infamous painting, he’d snap a picture of it. Lo and behold, later that night, he sent me this. I burst out laughing as soon as I saw it. This is easily one of the BEST Tim Jacobus paintings of the 90s! He also gave me permission to share it on my Instagram. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do! GRAVEYARD SCHOOL'S PET DAY IS A REAL HOWL... Little Pet Werewolf by Tom B. Stone Released (1995) Star Rating -⭐⭐ It's pet day at Graveyard School, and Skip Wolfson wishes he could bring in an exotic pet like a werewolf. He's in for the shock of his life when he doesn't have to search very far for one. Firstly can I just state that the cover and title of this book are entirely misleading. Now with that done, this is your standard run of the mill werewolf story, werewolf terrorises town (I use the term terrorise very loosely), werewolf turns out to be someone we know. Unfortunately, nothing interesting, or of note happens until really late on and it's painfully obvious what the conclusion is going to be, even from early on. This being a 'goosebumps knock-off' I can't help comparing them. The 'twist' in here is one R.L Stine has used a number of times over the course of the Goosebumps franchise and it's one I've never really been a fan of. Comparing this to Stine's werewolf stories however is night and day, every one under Stine's umbrella are far superior than this. Have you read 'Little Pet Werewolf'? The Flashback Video Kids section just got a revamp! Got alerted to a Facebook Marketplace listing for “collection of kids vhs. $30 must take all”. Figured for $30 I could maybe get some clamshells in decent condition to replace some cracked ones or use for future projects. Met the lady in the Walgreens parking lot and she hands me two large garbage bags and says “enjoy” before getting back in her car and pulling away. Did I hit the jackpot!? So many of these were in pristine condition. Some were ones I’ve never come across in the wild and others ones I hadn’t seen in decades. A lot of them even had all the inserts, like they were fresh off the printer. Beyond thrilled with this pickup but the best part was seeing my 6 year old light up with every tape. He literally dove in the bag (see the last pic) and every tape he pulled out was accompanied by either “dad, you’re not gonna believe me” or “ooohhh woah, look at this one!” and he already has a list compiled of which ones he wants to watch. Couldn’t be prouder. I couldn't help but compare it to the 'Tales To Give You Goosebumps' series while I was reading it as they were released around the same time, are the same length, have the same number of stories and are geared towards the same demographic. In doing so I have to say that this falls short of all six entries in that series. Some stories were quite boring, especially in the first half of the book. Good morning everyone! It's Friday! The Dog Ate My Homework is a book that I've been wanting to read for a while.From the back of the book ,it sounded a lot like The Blob That Ate Everyone from the original Goosebumps series and it kind of is.The story starts off with Azalea or Azie as her friends call her.She just got sent to the principals office for lying again.This is something she does a lot.She mostly lies for fun telling small white lies.This time shes in trouble for lying to her teacher saying she got a head injury or something like that.She gets grounded and is super upset so she plays on her computer and runs into this Liars club chatroom.She chats with this user or owner of the chat named System Greeter.They chat for a bit and Azie wants to create her own Liars Club.System Greeter basically gives her a trial lie to see if she can actually create a Liars Club.The lie she is told to do is just one statement and that's "the dog ate it" but when she says this she must first say a weird wacky word that's like schsik or something.She goes to class the next day and the teacher asks for her homework only for Azie to yell out the phrase.Sure enough there is a dog outside the school window tearing apart the homework.Azie quickly tells her two friends about The Liars Club and introduces them to System Greeter.He tells the two that they also have to do an intitave lie.And there lie is that the whole class gets pizza at lunch time.There are certain catches to these lies though and that's, you must tell somebody outside of the group and all lies are final.They can't be reversed.The scares in this book are more centered around having a lot of fame and doing permanent damage to someone without thinking of consequences.There are a group of bullies that try to steal the kids money when they lie about being rich and they get turned into something and I really enjoyed that scene.There are termites as advertised on the back symbiosis that show up and cause a lot of damage but I feel like that half of the book was somehow least interesting.I really enjoyed them just making up different lies and seeing different things happen.I had a lot of fun with The Dog Ate My Homework.(Review continued in the comments.)

The Thing Under The Bed from the Bone Chillers series is a book I've been looking forward to reading for a while.Im a sucker for book covers with a monster you can kind of see but kind of not.The story however isn't bad but its pretty straightforward.The story starts our main protagonist Ottis who is really gross. He stuffs food and all kinds of trash under his bed which is named The Ocean Of Motion,a waterbed that his parents bought for him two years ago.Ottis thinks he hears some strange noises coming from under his bed, but ignores it.Ottis doesn't only throw trash under his bed but he also throws trash inside his backpack.One day while at school he is forced to open his backpack and is basically forced to go home because it stinks so bad.He gets home and his mom tells him he has to clean his room because his rooms also smells really bad.We cut to Ottis giving his backpack to the groundskeeper for him to clean because earlier when he reached into it he felt something that scared him.The groundskeeper finds worms inside the backpack and tells him multiple times "you can never be to careful with worms."When Ottis gets home that day he goes up to his room and sees alot of it has been cleaned and he's surprised. He's even more surprised when his friend Tony comes over and leaves his bookbag on his bed and when he returns he sees something pulling the backpack under the bed.This is where we know that something is up.This book was really basic.It's honestly just a monster story with a decent message about cleaning up behind yourself. I only really had one complaint and that's the twist.It was painfully obvious something was up with a certain character and when we find out where the monster came from, they mention a name that is literally the same as this character.Other then that , I think this book was ok, not as good as alor of the other ones I've read so far but pretty decent I give The Thing Under The Bed a three out of five stars.This book also has the card thing in the back where you can check it out at the library ,which I always find neat. #thethingunderthebed #bonechillers #nostalgia #90sbooks #horrorcollector #monster #goosebumpsknockoff

Happy Saturday everyone! First off ,happy New Year.I always really enjoy these book goals at the end of the year.And this year was really good reading wise and great outside of the book world.But I'd figure it would be fun to go look at some of my previous goals and add on to them ,so here we go. My goal for 2022 was to finish up Goosebumps series 2000 , Horrorland and finish Fear Streets original run.I didn't do any of those so I'll keep that goal in check. My other goal was to read 41 books I read 54.My new goal will be 57.I also had a goal to read atleast one shivers book.Ive read 5,I believe.So I am going to add to that with 5 more shivers books.I also said I'd like to read "a bunch of Give Yourself Goosebumps books"I read around five so I am going to agian go with five.And last but probably least I said I'd like to dive more into Graveyard School. I'm actually going to replace that one with I would like to read atleast one Are You Afraid Of The Dark and maybe 5 or so Bone Chillers.I think that's pretty much it book wise.I of course want to finish reading the Seinors series And read lets say 5 Spinetinglers. I'll read more then that if God lets me.As far as outside of books go id like to work out more.That was one from last year,eat better and just try my best.Thats it for now.What are your reading goals and. Monster Monday! For years I could recall a handful of images from a 90s show with a monster turkey - and remember it scaring the gobbles out of me. I never could remember the name of the show (which isn’t like me), but some researching revealed it to be BONE CHILLERS, a one-season horror/comedy show starring @lindacardellini based off books by Betsy Haynes. Beware of Frankenturkey! 🦃 A group of teenagers at Edgar Allen Poe High intend to save a poor turkey (a strangely effective puppet) from being eaten by the maniacal principle Pussman. They build a decoy that is of course later struck by lightning and runs amok! Pure nightmare fuel in both appearance and roar. 🦃 Part GOOSEBUMPS, part SCOOBY-DOO (before Linda would play Velma!), the 1996 show is fully aware of its campy creature feature vibe and boasts some legit practical effects. A couple years ago I read the very first Frankenturkey book in the Bone Chillers series.I skipped on this book for a few years and I honestly don't know why.The story starts off with Annie from the first book staring out the window missing Gobble-De-Gook from the previous book.It turns out he died because he ran out in front of a vehicle.Annie and her brother Kyle's mom tells the two kids they need to clean up their toy box to make room for more gifts.I think she mentions Christmas.The two kids begin cleaning when they run across the wishbone they kept from last year's Frankenturkey.They both make a wish and pull the bone apart but both ends are the same.Kyle wishes for Jake to come over.He is the bully from the last book.They are good buddies now.Annie wishes for Gobble-De-Gook to come back.Jake ends up at the door and Annie goes to see if her wish comes true and it does,sort of.The turkey that pops up is missing eyes and feathers and all kinds of stuff l.Hes basically a zombie.But Annie says she will take care of him and get him better.The turkey begins rejuvenating and grows back his eyes and all this stuff.Kyle and Jake see this turkey and they suspect that this is actually Frankenturkey.One night while sleeping, Annie has a dream that she gives Gobble-De-Gook the wishbone.It gives him powers or something.Turns out it wasn't a Dream, because her shoes are on the floor and they have fresh snow tracks.Weird things begin to happen though as Annie or anybody around make rediculous wishes they all come true.Like wishing for her dog to be a cat and it meows and her parents changing their mind on the fly about this turkey.But the greatest wish that is made is by Annie.She wishes her brother will get bigger and become the thanksgiving dinner instead of the turkey and this book turns into a bunch of Kyle eating alot of food and getting bigger.We learn that this turkey can make wishes but can also make people make wishes.This book was bad.I was very disappointed.The first Frankenturkey book is probably one of my favorites of the Bone Chillers books series.(Review continued in the comments.)
The Night Squawker begins with Paul's mom bringing home a pet parrot from her veterinary clinic.The bird was dropped off mysteriously by a guy named Mr.Weir.Well Mr.Weir has sense passed away but he wanted this clinic to take care of this parrot.When the parrot was dropped off,money was left with him for the clinic,so Paul's mom thinks she needs to take care of this parrot.One day while Paul's sister is playing with an Ouija board to get information on a boy she likes,(That's not how that works.)Paul gets a warning to pretty much stay away from Shemhazai.One night while eating dinner,Paul's family is trying to come up with a name for the parrot.Paul suggests the name Bart,because that's his sister's crushes name.The bird goes crazy though and announces his name as Captain Shemhazai.They end up calling him Captain Shem for short.It doesn't take long for Captain Shem to throw out his first warning."There's been an accident.They said.Hes cut in half. He's dead".This is where the bad stuff starts happening.We find out that Paul's neighbor has been in a terrible car accident.Next month the bird has a rhyme for the dog,and one for his mother.We don't find out that these accidents happen once a month until Paul visits the library and puts the peices together.We find out what happened to the birds previous owner as well and it's pretty graphic.It involves a microwave.I really had a lot of fun with The Night Squawker.I honestly don't have any complaints.This book was dark and the threats were real.This book reminded me of a few Goosebumps Books,mostly It Came From Beneath The Sink.But It also had elements of Night Of The Living Dummy thrown in there.There is a scene where Paul throws the bird in the sewer while being in a bag and the bird comes back.Id give The Night Squawker a four out of five stars. #thenightsquawker #evilbirds #bonechillers #nostalgia #90s #vintagebooks #squawk #betsyhanes #igrewupinthe90s #90snostalgia #timjacobus #birds #horrorcollector #november #imissbeingakid #readingtime #booksfrommycollection #library #yahorror #bookshelf #booksfrommycollection #rarebooks

This weekend’s finds. It’s been a while since I found any VHS worth picking up, but I didn’t have any of these titles on VHS & they were all fairly priced, which is becoming increasingly uncommon. The Frankenstein figure is from Diamond Select (2011). He was loose and missing his accessories, but the figure itself is in good shape and I just couldn’t leave him behind. The Invisible Man is by Jada Toys (2022). He was still sealed, but I opened him before I had a chance to take a pic.
