So beyond proud of our girl! Despite a lot of really hard days she was able to keep A/B honor roll all year long. There were so many days this year I would send her off to school and say "just do your best, whatever that looks like today for you." Try learning, try having to focus while in pain, feeling sick constantly, experiencing auditory hallucinations, extreme fatigue, memory loss/problems, OCD and so many more symptoms. But it's not her making A/B we're most proud of...it's her fighting and rising from these dark ashes to find herself again. Yesterday when I picked her up from school, she was there, it was her fully. She was so silly and funny, she just made me laugh the whole way home...it was one of the best rides home in a long time. Fighting and finding herself again is her greatest accomplishment, not doing well in school or receiving awards, but finding herself from this living hell she's been stuck in. Es sind noch einige Tage bis zum Finale der zehnten Staffel und um die Zeit ein wenig zu verkürzen, gibt es mal wieder Performance Rankings zu Masken aus den vergangenen Staffeln! Den Anfang macht hierbei die Göttin. Meiner Meinung nach eine Maske, die sich stets gesteigert hat und immer mehr, von Show zu Show, aus sich herausgekommen ist. Ich hätte ihr definitiv noch einen weiteren Auftritt gegönnt. Vorallem, weil sie in der dritten Show nochmal mit einem völlig anderen Song als üblich überrascht hat. Das Kostüm finde ich bis heute designtechnisch absolut unglaublich. Zudem muss ich sagen, dass die Songauswahl mit "Rise Like a Phoenix" richtig gut zur Eleganz der Maske gepasst hat. Der Song wurde dem Kostüm auf jeden Fall gerecht. Ich denke, dass die Wenigsten mit Rebecca Immanuel gerechnet haben. Mit Abstand eines der größten Rätsel, die wir in der Show hatten, muss man schon sagen. 😅 Und definitiv einer der größten Schockmomente, als die Maske gefallen ist. Give them your shoes! Ever heard the saying: "before you judge a person, try walking a mile in their shoes." Well the opposite goes when learning to grow patient with and being empathetic toward others. Over the years my experiences have allowed me to become wiser and my eyes have slowly been more opened to the realities of the world. But as the exposure increased so did the impatience and lack of understanding toward others, I frequently would lose my "cool" when "they" didn't get me. The art of spiritual growth There are three principles that I personally follow which influence my spiritual growth 1. Enlightenment 2. Humility 3. Selflessness 1. Enlightenment in the form of self education, the type of teachings you don't learn from school or any university in the world. We need to be open to learning the way of life through the word of God. This we enforce when we diligently study our holy books, i.e the Bible, Qur'an, Bhagavad Gita, Torah, Tipitaka etc from these teachings we become aware of how we should lead our lives and these teachings reflect through our behavior to others. 2. Being humble doesn't mean bowing down to everyone, it simply means letting go of things that contribute to your pride. However you first learn love and kindness to oneself, when we are able to forgive ourselves we find it easier to forgive others, when we love ourselves, we don't have time to hate on others. You begin to understand that each person's journey of life is different and through your own personal experience and pain, you show empathy to others. 3. When the foundations of principle one and two above are fully instilled within us, we become selfless beings, knowing that our purpose is to serve one another, through acts of charity we open our hearts and in return so do the doors of spiritual enlightenment. Faith The only known antidote for failure What is faith? Faith is more than just having to see to believe, faith is knowing, having an assurance that no matter what life throws at you, you will overcome. Faith is not something you are just born with, it is something that grows stronger as you grow wiser, knowing that no situation is out of your measure and control. Walking with FAITH Along my journey of life, I have learnt that nothing comes to me without I having to work for it, the gifts of these efforts are great, but nothing can amount to the joy I feel each time I get a little better and closer to achieving my goals. Every step I take, I have always felt God's presence and guidance, I am eternally grateful for his favor on my life. I might not have always showed up for GOD, but GOD has always shown up for me and I believe that each and every one of us are guided and favored by God. "If it is true that you look favorably on me, let me know your ways so I may understand you more fully and continue to enjoy your favor" - exodus 33:13 In life, nothing worthy is achieved without real effort, hardwork puts us where good luck finds us, in our careers or business, in our homes our relationships, especially our relationship with GOD, if you want it to be meaningful and you want to experience this presence and favor you have to work for it, pray more, take action, be a good person and give more. Sometimes it may be scary to step into today or think about tomorrow, the world doesn't always offer a positive view and it can be overwhelming, this is where we need to walk with blind faith and trust God, you just have to keep walking and believe that whatever you have set out to do, if your intentions are pure and earnest than it will be worth it and the fruits of your labor will be good. Know that you are not alone, every step you take GOD is guiding you and is close to your side. Live your life as if GOD is always watching. Patience and Persistence No results, keep working. Nothing happens over night, understand that great things happen over time. Too often we find ourselves giving up before we accomplish our goals because we don't see any significant results. You need to rid your mind from instant gratification, be hungry and enjoy the journey. Set a goal, add a timeline to it, create a series of steps or plans that will lead you closer to achieving your goal, but don't focus on the results along every step. At the end of the time line, if you haven't completely achieved your goal, add more time, it's that simple. Reflect on how far you have come and don't worry about how much longer it's going to take, keep the end goal in mind. If along the way you fail a few times it's okay, learn from the mistakes, pick yourself up and try again. You weren't born to live a mediocre life, but not taking action or quitting will never take you away from it. Serving your fellow brothers and sisters. When you feel as if you can’t continue no longer, take time out to do something for someone who can’t pay you back. Do something for those that are less fortunate than you. Sometimes our greatest blessings lay beside our humblest actions. Make a difference in someone else’s life and you will feel fulfilled. What are you doing for others that can’t pay you back? You don’t have to be donating money all the time, how about spending alil time, being there for the next person. Sometimes all a person wants is comfort, knowing that someone else listens, cares and that there is someone out there who is just there. Just breathe Life is not bad, life can be challenging, life can be full of obstacles, but life is what you want it to be, if it’s challenging, it’s time for change, it’s time to change your perspective and mindset. Instead of asking why is life this way? Ask yourself what is life trying to teach you. When life gets hard, you gotta be able to get harder than it, it’s your training grounds, if it gets challenging, remember that it is only for things to get easier after.
