I have meaning to post this after The Wind in the Willows but post show blues, work schedules and the flu got in the way. But I wanted to say something before I go to Dibley. A huge thank you to Concept Players for having me onboard with this production even before auditions happened. Giving me the opportunity and responsibility to create the look and design of the show I.e. programme cover and scenic designs. To the director Richard Thomas and producers Rhiannon Rose-Goodsir and Shane Rose-Goodsir, you have entrusted me with taking on the role of Mr Toad. With it, you made 8-Year-Old me very very happy to be playing one of his childhood icons. Of course, everyone in the cast and crew. You have been very amazing. Even on bad days, or when I was having a cold during production week, you have all cheered me up with your support and teamwork. I would never done it without you. And thank you to all my friends and family who came out to support me in the show. You have all been the driving force behind my participation in this show. This whole experience has been a wonderful enjoyable experience. I hope everyone had a fun time, I know we definitely made children very happy. Great to wake up to this email, the day after our Wind In The Willows opening night, from someone who had never seen an ELODS show before. — You really took our breath away! We were just amazed at the standard of everything...from the nifty staging, to the innovative way you chose to do the costumes, the choreography and production , the music ( including all the essential behind-scenes things too, like sound, light, scene-shifting etc who sometimes get omitted in appreciation) - the whole thing. The standard overall was just superb...perfect casting and - for me (and many ) so essential -.really excellent diction! ( Often not enough attention given to the importance of this to get the message across!!) The sheer professionalism of the entire cast was a joy to behold...WHAT a lot of work you have all put in to reach such a standard...and best of all was the evident cohesion of the group, together with their obvious enjoyment in performing the piece. Many congratulations to one and all - it was a most delightful and charming show. I thought I would share some of the many items I’ve accumulated over my 25 years of working for Disney as well as other treasure. This is a shelf in my office that has several of them on it. I’m thankful to finally have a space to have so many of these pieces on display. Mr Toad Statue - The largest is the Mr. Toad statue that I received from the “Room For oNe More” Spacial event at the Magic Kingdom in 2011. It was a limited edition of 750 and was given to the guests who attended. Glads Mickey - The small glass Mickey Mouse was from a 2004 auction at Disneyland that I created a piece of artwork for. Disneyland Plate - The large glass plate was an amazing piece created for a special event for Disneyland’s 50th Anniversary. It’s a replica of the opening day ticket and it’s one of my favorite pieces. Bugs and Elmer - For several years I created artwork for the Chuck Jones Gallery’s Red Dot auction. One year I was lucky enough to win this hand-signed piece in the silent auction. Gears - The small wood gear piece was a gift from my daughter that we had fun putting together. Hand-Painted Clock - The large clock was something I painted in 1992 that was originally designed to sell but never did so I kept it. It’s based on the poem, “The Man in the Moon” and is from a period when I was creating a lot of murals and trompe l’oeil pieces. It featured the poem as well as elements referencing space like the ladder, a blue marble and a star. The “man” is shown imprisoned high up above the moon face clock. Hoppy Earth Day 🌎 #itsearthday Every Gardener has a guardian; be it a plump Garden Spider, a Gopher Snake, or in my case, a giant Toad 🐸 Meet Mr.Toad. I found him living in a too small and uncomfortable crack the size of a Hollister Pants Pocket right where I stand to water. I actually came so close to crushing him! That is why I ultimately decided to relocated him to Toad-topia, 2 feet away in my planter bed. I truly didn't expect him to stick around this long, but here we are a week later. I set-up a little pool for him to soak and a broken flower pot "cave".
