The boys have been missing their Vancouver Whitecaps practices so we drove into Nova Gorica to see one of their coaches who now plays for ND Gorica!! He was born and raised in our hometown. He (and his brother) have been such great role models for these boys. The boys were so pumped when we found out a few months ago that he’d gone to Europe. Trying out some new filters and felt this one was appropriate🤠🖤 🛑♿️ACCESSIBILITY TIP: Due to my Flare ups, I finally gave riding in my chair a shot. I don’t think I will ever go back. It was so nice not having to “rise from the dead” when I go from seated to standing position 😭😂 or deal with the unsteadiness of my lower body when trying to sit down in those REALLY low boats. If you are weak in your lower half like me, I definitely recommend giving this a shot even if it is a bit of a wait. Otherwise, you always have the option of transferring which is much faster than waiting on one of the two accessible boats. I always recommend headphones/ear protection on this ride as the music is always loud. There are bright flashing lights, but they aren’t overwhelming. So today's throwback Thursday has an incredible story. It's incredible because one of the most amazing and life enriching aspects of this life is the people we have met, the ways we have met them and experiences we have had with them. How many people even know their neighbors nowadays? So we were in Vancouver (2018) and spent the night near one of our favorite places ( #commercialdrive ). So we get up and just doing our morning routine, going to the public bathroom, making bed, sweeping out dirt etc. So this gentleman I'll call him "curious cuban" the man in yellow (cc) came and introduced himself, realized Eddy was Latin and started an in depth conversation in spanish. Next thing you know Eddy is giving him a #vantour. So CC was very shocked at what we had built, he had been staying in his friend's van, but had just thrown a mattress in the back. His work partner (they were painters) showed up during the conversation and Eddy and him recognized one another immediately. Their family's had come to Canada around the same time, and knew each other #itsasmallworld So after talking for an hour or so (if anyone is #Latino or has been around them much, you know food is a big deal), they decide they are hungry, now CC knows we have a kitchen and BBQ so suggests we eat and of course they other 2 agree. CC heads to store. So CC brings some pork and asks if I'll prepare and make rice so I go to it. Totally impromptu #bbq and awesome afternoon for us all. Its funny we were sitting there enjoying the time as if we had all known each other for years. We rarely make plans and just let life happen! Our experience has been amazing in so many ways but meeting people and getting to know each other has been one of the best parts.
