I’m headed down to the Bay Area this week, but wanted to share this rare beauty (NFS) I recently found & added to my personal collection before I do. The textile itself dates to somewhere in the 19th century. It was originally made for & used as a bed coverlet. Then repurposed into a coat sometime in the 1920’s, possibly early 1930’s. I am still researching the textile design itself, as something tells me there is a story there… I realize personal shares can hit differently with everyone… for me it is merely to share, as I’d like to hope everyone can appreciate the beauty & history. It’s 1 am and I’m feeling inspired about Classic British Motorcycles :3 I can’t shake the feeling the thoughts the sheer excitement every moment every re discovery every tear of happiness of joy. Every look at an old photo or a video or an inspiring picture of post by every single one of you :) British motorcycles have been a huge no the biggest part of my life for well most of my life! The last 3 years were tough the hardest tbh it’s those moments when you figure out who’s along for the ride with your best interests at heart who is really there for you. It’s wild to think in the next few months I’ll be calling a new part of the country home that my Nortons and I will be discovering new roads new horizons to explore making new friends and meeting up with old friends. I’m dreaming thinking wondering again about trips or possibilities not on modern stuff but with my passion with Nortons from the golden age of motorcycles once the 1150 Gsa has sold my Nortons will be my main motorcycles again, apart from jumping on the T7 I got for dad here an there. I’m really hoping my nerve is now up to consistent kickstarting of the big British twins again working on the 1968 Norton Commando again is just ah bliss the best thing for my mental health, thinking about what I need to buy next to finish her, researching aspects about the original 1968 tank badges doing deep research and loving every moment. I guess it’s safe to say I’m back with my passion back doing what I love and I’m so happy to be experiencing that again ^_^ I’ve got a plan for a build for a Commando if I start having issues kickstarting again anything to keep riding on British motorcycles and I’m also dreaming and researching other British Classic bikes ideas forming changing like water flowing over rocks isn’t that the wonderful thing about our hobby our passion every moment every new possibility an opportunity to make friends to learn from others you never stop learning and I never want to. That feeling of discovery is so special the feeling that at any moment our classic motorcycles can teach us something new or other enthusiasts the same it’s amazing really I think. 1930s 1933 Elgin Pocket Watch / Victorian Art Deco / Antique Gold Filled / RUNS & TICKS $168 + FREE SHIPPING This is an antique gold-filled Elgin pocket watch from 1933 according to the serial number. It runs and keeps time practically flawlessly. The condition is great! There are no evident scratches of blemishes on the face or the crystal. The Blue metal hands are present and the gold-tone center is delatcepy engraved. The back has a beautiful engraved scene of a bird flying floral landscape. The winding mechanism is very sturdy and not flimsy. However it does have a noticeable issue: the winding mechanism pops up into “time setting mode” very easy where it may accidentally change modes when in use. There is some surface discoloration on the face of the watch, but it doesn’t inhabit the hands. Serial number: 33710142 Weight: 95.4 grams. Hi team so in today’s post I’m gonna talk about the 1927 Vintage Norton my 16h an YouTube I’ve been super busy lately uploading new videos and working on Savingclassicmotorcycles as a whole it’s been a really different vibe and feel in some ways to what used to be Norton rider I definitely think it was the right move to start fresh. Ps: if you see anyone using that any more it’s not me! I’ve really been enjoying making the current videos and putting together what is the representation of years of working on the Nortons into a handful of videos, in todays video I cover the break downs and issues we had with the flat tank 16H relating to the magneto problems and a few twists along the way, there’s some funny bits like using gravity to coast past dad running back with tools lol. Anyway I hope you all really enjoy that I’ve really enjoyed doing the long form videos I’ve got a few more to come over the next couple of weeks the channels tiny but I’m really putting my heart into it to share my passion for the motorcycles both that the original Norton made in the glory age of motorcycles. An other bikes to like the Elsie’s ^_^ Exciting hey! The next few videos will be on the 650SS again there’s a few on that already up these will be a look back on some very early clips before the new mic setup, the last time I rode the 650SS in some bad weather an then an elsie clip ^_^ I’ll be posting the first none Norton video the Rd350LC new old stock part resto. That will bring us up to date an we shall cover the continuation of the Commando build in the coming months, 650ss rides all being well a the flat tank Norton riding again it’s all action everyone! It’s 1926 and there’s been a moyder! My character was Errol Blackman, an old stage actor who’s been accused of the worst crime anyone can commit…. Using a hat to keep a wig on 😂 The suit was a find by my friend on Vinted - a man’s suit COVERED in birds. Stunning and completely out of my confort zone. Classic Motorcycles an learning ^_^ hi team happy Saturday So today I had a really really super fun day I nipped round to @rickscarroll who’s another local Norton Enthusiast and a friend an we got Stuck in together with on his very awesome Norton Dommie, which is an es2 an a 99’ engine. That’s got the feeling an look of what’s gonna be a very awesome Norton, Rick had already done the hard work with the wiring setting the timing and had an initial start up, between us after diagnosing the throttle cable being to short we disconnected that an after a few turns of the screws on the new Monobloc first kick she started an settled into a nice idle. Oh what a sound another Norton living again :) also the first time I’ve started a Norton twin for about a year or so, good news is I feel ok so that’s me spurred on to get this 1968 Commando finished over the next month or so running an riding :) It was also nice to see dad out having fun and talking motorcycles with us both We also sussed a few things out with the gearbox from prior experience I’d had with a snapped return spring on the 650ss which leads us onto todays post on learning :) I found it really interesting today working on someone else’s Norton for the first time it was interesting as the things I’d learnt an applied today were through things that had gone wrong and id learnt from experience gained through that sometimes when things don’t go smooth we often beat ourselves up but later on in life that’s a life experience which will then help us an recognising that I think has been one of the biggest changes to my mental health that things that go wrong are an opportunity to learn an grow both as an individual and in future knowledge. Life an mindset is interesting isn’t it :) always new opportunities to learn it felt nice being able to pay forward some of the experience I’ve gained through others passing knowledge an taking the time at the start of my Norton Journey an even now we never stop learning ever an recognising that always allows us to grow ^_^

An interesting evocation of this concept appears in one of the Netherworld Books, the Book of the Creation of the Solar Disk. Twelve goddesses, personifications of the hours of the night, wear disks on their heads, appropriate to the sun god whose temporal journey they represent. The text says “These hours in this fashion, their visible forms at their fingertips, their shades beneath their zenith, as they guide this great god in the mysterious West, the visible forms of Re being at their hours, they doing their task … while their shades are beneath their rays.” Each goddess turns backward, placing her arms over a star atop an ostrich-feather fan.
