Today while swimming I was thinking of my son. He wants to get his teacher a mug that says “you do you, & I will do me”. ——- This led me to think of non-constructive criticisms. They exist. They happen to me often enough. The other day a woman I respect said “you do too much, you go too many places, you are too busy. Your kids don’t stay home enough. The farm is the best place to be when they are little, and they should be there more often.it is the best place place to learn to be self-sufficient...etc etc etc ” Immediately I went into justifications. This isn’t the first time I heard this lecture and it’s not going to be the last . ———- The truth is my world and her world are different. that is okay.ooI have grown to love the farm. I am progressively growing to love my community. I love that. I do, But I want my world to be more than that. The world is a big place, it has so much to offer. So many experiences to have. So many places to explore. I want that for myself, my kids and my husband. ———- I work hard every day to find growth, and to find my truths. One of those truths is: I work to not judge, or criticize. Judgement stems from places where people are most insecure. So for me to stop criticizing I work to stand in my own self and say “I am enough” no matter how many times I fall & have to get back up agAin. I mean, life can be so hard as is, that judgement & non-constructive criticism isn’t helpful, to someone who is mentally unstable, let me tell you, it’s harmful ————.
