Thanks for your concern Instagram. But I'll be the one to decide what I feel is needed and what isn't needed on MY account. Fortunately I have encountered social media trolls and real life ones. Neither are a concern for me 😅. Happy to receive constructive criticism or just criticism as I don't really know what I'm doing half the time 🤣. One step at a time hopefully in the forward direction, I mean even if it's a bit of a scenic journey, that's cool too. Also have been lucky enough to have heard and read many words. Haven't come across one that has been offensive, although a few disturbing. There is absolutely no need for anyone to be nasty to one another. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and ideas, having a conversation is much better than jumping to conclusions. Conversations about different thoughts and ideas allow people to learn. A supportive community allows everyone to grow and achieve goals. A broken one slows down what everyone can achieve. It's like a road where 500 users believe the speed limit is 30khp and 500 believe it's 130kph. Both sides are correct although with communication both users will be a lot happier with a plan that will work with both users. Are people that miserable that their only outlet is leaving mean comments or messages on other people’s posts? I saw someone’s story today, a woman who I have followed and admired for years (and who is total goals for me and thousands of others), and someone called her a pig in a swimsuit. She was posting a beautiful and fun reel celebrating life. Why would someone do this to someone else? I don’t think I know anyone who is happy with their appearance. Most people are just trying their best to balance their physical and mental health. Or in my case, focus on my mental health! Or they find a pic and make assumptions, often without seeing the owner's journey to creating hamster havens. So, one of the neatest things about being a teacher in social media time is seeing the amazing things that my former students have accomplished and are accomplishing. When people ask me, "How can you teach high school students?", it is rarely a compliment for my students. And I feel badly that those people don't get how lucky I am to have met all the amazing people I have in my 19 years (with more to come) of teaching. And by that, I don't just mean the careers they've pursued. It means seeing them become strong, confident people who are making the world better through the way they live their lives, the way they are raising their children (if they chose to have children), the amazing lives their living (I see you @itskaitmcinnis traveling the world) and to just see them become amazing adults. Or seeing them use social media, like @hollyshousewifelife does, in neat ways that would not have been foreseen all those years ago when I taught her.
