I knew there were going to be limitations for Knuckles based on it being a series instead of a film. The visual effects still aren't cheap enough. However, the overall story is fine, and the banter between Wade and Knuckles is fun. The musical episode was even entertaining. The biggest problems for me were the bland villains and giving someone as talented as @edipattersonhi such a frustrating character. But, it's only 6 episodes and doesn't overstay it's welcome. Tras su aporte en la última derrota del Dr. Robotnik, Knuckles el equidna cree que sus días de pelear han terminado. Se siente perdido en su nuevo entorno. Pero el deber llama cuando le es encomendada la tarea de entrenar al obtuso oficial Wade Whipple. Juntos se embarcarán en una acelerada persecución en la que descubrirán qué es lo que verdaderamente hace a un guerrero. Disfruté mucho con la saga de Sonic en la pantalla grande, y cuando "Knuckles" debutó en el streaming de Paramount me hice el tiempo de verla. La serie de John Whittington y Toby Ascher logra capturar parte del encanto conseguido con mar películas de Jeff Fowler. Se maneja un humor irreverente, exagerado, y casi caricaturesco que ha logrado funcionar antes. El problema está en la falta de presupuesto que se tradujo en una reducción notable en pantalla del protagonista del título y, con ello, su arco argumental. Knuckles no termina de madurar demasiado en la secuencia de acontecimientos mientras al espectador se lo fuerza a un aburrido conflicto familiar sin nada nuevo que contar. Hay un gran potencial desde el trabajo en la singular banda sonora y los ya conocidos efectos especiales para los personajes de SEGA. Es una lástima que parte de esa sensación se pierda con un ritmo narrativo tan irregular. El Knuckles de Idris Elba es uno de gran carisma. Terco y algo temperamental, aún lidia con su incersión en la Tierra, y Elba da con el correcto registro vocal para el caso. Lo acompaña Adam Pally como su inexperto aprendiz Wade Whipple, con un gran mochila de inseguridades, y Edi Patterson como la agresiva Wanda, la hermana del último. Aun estando ampliamente dirigida a un público infantil, uno no puede evitar ver espacio de mejora para la audiencia familiar que en última instancia busca. Knuckles Review: Created by John Whittington & Toby Ascher, this series follows Knuckles the Echidna (Idris Elba) who has been attempting to get used to life on earth following the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. He ends up going on a journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train deputy sheriff Wade Whipple (Adam Pally) as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna Warrior when a new threat arises to challenge them in the form of former lackey of Doctor Robotnik who is intent on obtaining Knuckles’ power. The Sonic franchise is no stranger to television having had several animated adaptations in the past but this marks the first live action show to be made as part of the surprisingly successful Sonic the Hedgehog film universe created by Jeff Fowler. Idris Elba’s take on the beloved red echidna was a major standout in the second film for many people so the fact that he is getting his own small spinoff series is definitely not a surprise given how popular he was for both critics and audiences. But there is one important question to ponder. Is this series an entertaining and necessary watch or is it just a cheap product banking on the character’s popularity from the second film? After watching all six episodes I can honestly say I had a mostly good time with this wacky yet entertaining limited series though I definitely was left wanting something more different than what we got. It’s a very low stakes spin off story that plays off like a fun 90s stoner comedy that takes place in the Sonic film universe and while it may not be appealing to most people I found it to be an entertaining watch that has some well done elements making for a decent laid back watch. The cast of the show do an alright job performance wise for their respective characters though the central characters played by Idris Elba and Adam Pally are easily the best parts of the series as whole both together and individually. Just finished the Knuckles series on @paramountplus!!! I personally found this show VERY ENTERTAINING and had a fun time with it, HOWEVER, there were certain aspects that I wasn’t crazy about. For example, there’s NOT MUCH focus on Knuckles, PARTICULARLY in the LAST THREE EPISODES, the latter half of the show focuses on Adam Pally’s character Wade Whipple, I like Adam Pally and I have ZERO problems with the character of Wade, but I expected more of a balanced focus on Knuckles. When the show DOES spend time with Knuckles, it’s GREAT, and Idris Elba is still AWESOME as the voice of Knuckles. I watched the knuckles paramount plus series today and it was awesome I can't tell people who may or may not watched this show today on paramount plus but it one of the best show ever. Man this show was so good I know some of the stars from the sonic the hedgehog movie was there in one episode while the other two stayed in all six episodes I mean Idris Elba(@idriselba) played amazing as my third favorite sonic the hedgehog video game character knuckles the echidna in the sequel of sonic the hedgehog and now have this own show based on that character it's a true honor including Adam pally( I watched all his movies and shows big of his works) played as wade Whipple who is my 6th favorite cast members of the sonic the hedgehog film series but very funny as wade. I thought they would release the sonic the hedgehog third movie when knuckles was released but no they didn't but I will wait for the trailer in the future hopefully in month or two or possibly in the summertime this year but I still enjoy watching this show today I can't wait for the trailer of sonic the hedgehog 3 movie will show. Silent Night is een visueel sterke film. Dit is al duidelijk aan het begin van de film waarin we door een felrode ballon vaag het gezicht van het, door Joel Kinnaman gespeelde, hoofdpersonage zien. De rode ballon symboliseert de verblindende woede waarmee dit hoofdpersonage gevuld is. Cinematograaf Sharone Meir en filmmonteur Zach Staenberg weten onder leiding van regisseur John Woo creatieve overgangen in de film te plaatsen. Een prachtig voorbeeld hiervan is de overgang van een zwart beschaduwde muur naar de zwarte achtergrond van een hartmonitor in een operatiekamer. Daarnaast is Silent Night een film waarin zowel stilte als geluid een belangrijke rol spelen. De stilte van de cast is net zo belangrijk als de geluidsbewerking en geluidsmixing uit de film. Het concept van een man die zijn stem verliest en tegelijkertijd uit is op wraak voor de dood van zijn zoon is origineel. In de uitwerking van dit concept zorgt het gemis van dialogen en verbaal acteerwerk ervoor dat Silent Night regelmatig repetitief overkomt. Er zijn verschillende scènes met herhalende acties of gebeurtenissen, waardoor het verhaal ook repetitief en langdradig overkomt. Zo bevat de film veel scènes waar Kinnamans personage Brian terugkijkt op de tijd die hij samen had met zijn overleden zoon. De vele flashbacks zijn ontroerend echt, maar zorgen er ook voor dat het verhaal en de bijhorende actiescènes langzaam op gang komen. Het helpt ook niet dat Woo en scenarioschrijver Robert Archer Lynn tijdens deze herhalende filmmomenten weinig context geven over de situatie van deze scènes. Het probleem is niet alleen de onduidelijkheid van deze filmmomenten. Silent Night mist ook een duidelijke reden waarom deze overmatig gebruikte scènes zijn toegevoegd aan het filmverhaal. Gelukkig bevat Woo’s thriller en actiefilm wel meer pluspunten dan minpunten. Zo bevat de film sterke, bloederige en explosieve actiescènes. Het acteerwerk van de hoofdrolspeler Joel Kinnaman is ook uitstekend. De acteur levert een van zijn beste acteerprestaties tot nu toe. Bovendien worden thema’s als rouw en verlies sterk uitgewerkt. | @dutch_filmworks
