Our last day in Arizona and I think we saved the best hike for last. Cathedral rock is an expert hike (something Tom failed to tell me until after I did it 🤣) & that’s no joke! **Read on Kindle Unlimited** Okay so life has been kicking my butt and it was a bad time to try to start a #bookstagram apparently. But I'm still reading! I finished Succubus's Prize and gave it 3/5 ⭐ While I still liked it a lot, it wasnt my absolute favorites of theirs or even in the A Deal With a Demon series. I think a huge part of that was the religious trauma hit a little too close to home though and I applaud Katee Robert for tackling such a tough subject that so many people deal with. ... And then after finishing that, I decided to start one of the books from the Books of Horror Indie Brawl. The first bracket is Puzzle House by Duncan Ralston vs Blender Babies by Jon Athan. I had already read Puzzle House when it first came out so... Here we go. I gave Blender Babies 2/5 ⭐. I don't typically mind most extreme horror but I never intended to read this book because as a new mother, I assumed the content would be a bit much for me. I definitely was not a fan of certain scenes, such as the one taking place beneath my censor in the above picture. But that's not why I gave it a lower rating. It was in solid three star territory until the absolute very end. I don't like to spoil so I won't say anything more but that's where I was at with it. Overall, a decently enjoyable read. Different than what I had thought it was going to be. I really enjoy post-apocalyptic stories so that was a big plus. The writing felt a little rushed at times but the ride was wild enough that I didn't mind it too much. So, yeah. Blender Babies. Definitely not for everyone. Or probably most. A conversation yesterday had me chuckling… I bumped into an old acquaintance I haven’t seen in forever. Without going into all the details, there is a reason they are an old acquaintance. I don’t do negativity and I’m sorry but if that is how you want to live your life, that’s fine. I’ll love you from a distance. This old acquaintance accused me of starving myself and that my posts were edited, fake blah blah blah. If only they understood. If only I could truly have them walk a week in my shoes for the full effect of what I do. I’m doing cardio 6 days a week, I’m lifting weights 4 days a week, I’ve invested in a coach, I’ve committed to being on point with my nutrition. I have two gyms I go to depending on the day and when I can’t make it to one of those, I have a home gym I use to ensure I’m getting the job done. But they don’t want to hear that. They wanted to hear, yep my pics are edited, yep I’m starving myself, yep I’m on a miracle pill that magically is making the fat fall off and the muscle build all while I sit on the couch and do nothing. (Oh wouldnt that be nice huh?!?) I just smiled at them and my heart felt sorry for them. So much wasted energy trying to tear someone else down, when they could be using it to start making their lives 1% better everyday. Once upon a time this would have upset me, hurt me, and thrown me into self-doubt and deflated me. Now it just fuels me to keep sharing my journey and leading by example as to what you can accomplish with hard work, dedication, goals, the right support system and choosing to be 1% better every day. ❤️💪 #journey #goals #bodybuilding #hardwork #notforthefaintofheart #joy #growth

Most of the time I feel like I’m not doing nearly enough. Im not keeping the house clean enough, I’m not doing enough with the kids, I’m not riding enough, I’m not teaching the kids enough, I’m not crafty enough or handy enough. It’s hard not to do that when social media shows us all the people and their highlight reels. We see all the good days and for moms a lot of times those good times are all strung together to make it seem like that’s the daily. It’s hard being a mom though and you have good days and bad. It’s even harder for a ranch mom. Ranch mom means that on top of still having to take care of your family, you also have animals relying on you. After a day of being so sick that you feel like you can’t stand you still have to get up and push animals back in that got out, you still have to cook food for your family, and then stay up till 4 in the morning holding hair back and cleaning up puke even though you are trying your hardest not to throw up yourself. Not For The Faint of Heart by Lex Croucher A cute sapphic romance, with lots of heart. Croucher updates the classic stories of Robin Hood and his Merry Men to match more modern sensibilities than the more staid versions I grew up on, snd she does she with heart and joy, producing a sweet, gentle novel that has a deep heart of steel. I’m not ashamed to say that this book made me cry. It also made me laugh. A lot. I probably stopped to read out more passages or lines or this out to my partner more than any other book I’ve read in a long while. This is my first Croucher novel, but if certainly won’t be my last. Sweet, whimsical and cosy, this is a warm hug of a book and exactly what I needed right now. From the blurb: ‘You aren’t merry,’ said Clem to her captor. ‘And you aren’t all men.
