Books donated! 🥰 The first happy recipient was Anna 💛💙 We donated 90 pieces of Mary the Heartsinger musical storybook in Ukrainian-language to the Mikkeli reception center. The books were received by Otto Leppä, the director of the reception center in Mikkeli. We also donated a small number of other language versions of the book, such as Finnish, English and Russian. The remaining 910 donation books will go to Finnish RedCross’s logistics center in Tampere, from where they will be distributed all over Finland. A total of 1,000 books that we donated will find their owners in the coming days and weeks. We took 2,000 copies of the book, so there are still books left and you can buy Mary's story in Ukrainian for yourself or as a donation in our online store. ✨ → musicfairytales.fi Delivery costs in Finland are included in the book price of 29.90€. All but two of my summer students came over on Saturday night for a cookout and rehearsal and by the end of the night, my heart was so full! My studio vision has always included more than just lessons. I wanted to build a space where students could form a community of flute-minded friends. A studio where friendships blossom and everyone feels safe to play without judgement. Saturday was a step in the right direction. We’re so excited to announce that #sanddollarflutists are bringing a children’s concert to the Dayton area! This summer we really wanted to find a way to bless our community through the gift of music, so we decided to put together a musical fairytale! Luna’s Magic Flute is a wonderful story about the power of music and friendship and is appropriate for kids of all ages. We will be performing at Stubbs Park in Centerville and there is a playground right by the shelter where we will performing so kids can play and listen. This is free and open to the public!
