Kuang Si Waterfall, Luang Prabang, Laos📍 A stunning multi-tiered waterfall located about 50 minutes drive south of Luang Prabang, Laos. It’s one of the most popular attractions in the area, known for its picturesque scenery and refreshing turquoise pools that are perfect for swimming. The main waterfall creates a series of smaller falls and pools as the water flows downstream. The area is surrounded by lush tropical jungle, offering many hiking trails and picnic spots. You can also explore the Kuang Si Butterfly Park and the Tat Kuang Si Bear Rescue Centre, both located near the falls. Have i told you that Laos is a dream? It’s just majestic… Not only the nature, also the culture and buddhist temples take one’s breath away. One can just stand there in awe and admire the wonderfully crafted monuments build to honour The Enlightened One. Be prepared when visiting religious sites across the globe. When entering the holy spaces let’s not forget to be respectful towards the culture and people who are generously welcoming us in their lands and letting us into their culture. For Buddhist sites that mostly means to NOT: - show shoulders and knees - wear transparent, revealing and tight clothes - show your back to the statues of the Buddha when taking a photo (this one is a tricky one - i am guilty of breaking this one a couple of times! However, i am improving and trying to be mindful and aware;) And basically thats it. It’s not that hard, is it? While going out and about have some big scarf ready in your bag just in case. You might need it and it can prove itself very useful. Not only as a piece of clothing to wrap around knees or shoulders, but it can act as a sun-protection as well... Laos, the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia. We visited Luang Prabang mainly because it is listed as a UNESCO world heritage city. Our first activity was to treat ourselves with the best sunset while cruising in Mekong river. This was unplanned as we were aiming to look for a good place to eat until we met Mr. Ki and his kids. We thought we were going with a group of Chinese tourist. To our surprise, we had the whole boat for ourselves. From there, it was a wonderful experience to understand how important Mekong river is to the locals and what is their life with and without tourist in Luang Prabang. Luang Prabang, Laos. Located at the confluence of the Nam Kahn and Mekong Rivers, Luang Prabang offers a relaxed atmosphere, rich cultural experiences and natural beauty. 𝑳̲̅𝒖̲̅𝒂̲̅𝒏̲̅𝒈̲̅ 𝑷̲̅𝒓̲̅𝒂̲̅𝒃̲̅𝒂̲̅𝒏̲̅𝒈̲̅, 𝑳̲̅𝒂̲̅𝒐̲̅𝒔̲̅ I decided to spend the New Year in Laos, so at the end of December I landed in 𝙇𝙪𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙜. Right from the start, I met amazing friends with whom I had a great time for the next 6 days. The town itself, although there is not much to do there and everything, except the bowling place, closes at midnight, has its own charm. There aren’t many tourists, and there are several places worth visiting in the area. Here are my 𝙩𝙤𝙥 3 places and activities: - 𝙆𝙪𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙞 𝙒𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙨-the incredibly beautiful colour of the water😍 - 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩- one of the best Night Markets I’ve been to; great variety of tasty and cheap food - 𝙈𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙡𝙢𝙨 - it is an interesting ceremony to see (monks collect offerings from people) When it comes to accommodation, I stayed in 𝙎𝙪𝙣𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙍𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙋𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙃𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙡 and I it was really nice.
