🥰👍🏼🍻Appreciation post!! 🥳🎉🎉🍾 A massive thank you for 3000 followers 👍🏼 I genuinely can’t believe that what started as a hobby back in June 2022 has continued to be what it is. 2024 has definitely been a slower year for reviews, but this is mainly down to visiting pubs that have continually hit the spot! “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”. But, over the coming months there will be a lot more reviews and new places visited to really show piece the great places that are out there that need to be supported to continue to be the successes that they are. With that in mind, I’m going to change it up a little and alongside this post I’ve added 3 London pubs that I’m desperate to visit this year! All considered to be the oldest in London that all have fantastic characters and atmospheres. These types of pubs are well known to be my ‘types’ of pubs and I look forward to my London adventure! First up, @the_old_bell_tavern on Fleet Street. A @nicholsonspubs that offers amazing architecture as well as that amazing window! Can’t wait to pop into this pub that supposedly dates back to 1678! Next up is the @yeoldemitreholborn in Holburn! A @fullers pub (I’m a huge fan of this brewery and have reviewed a lot of pubs connected) with a notable claim to be the oldest in London… would love to know if this is true, but 1546… gets my nod of approval! Can’t wait! The final one and probably the most recommended, is the @the_lamb_and_flag 🍻. Another @fullers pub, but this one offers a bit more in terms of its small size, which brings huge character, which I love! Love the ‘bucket of blood’ name due to its history of fights in the streets! Intrigued! If anybody can offer advice on these pubs or the pubs themselves would like to get in touch, please do! Very comfortable snd welcoming. Had the Globe area at the back, which has to seen as added to its character and history. 🍺 Beer quality - @hook_norton_brewery with a good selection of cask ales. @peroniuk was enjoyable! 🍹Spirits variety - Standard ones you’d expect. 👶 Children welcome - Yes 🍽 Food available - Pub grub and looked popular. 🐶 Pet friendly - I’d say yes. 🌳 Pub Garden - a side spot and then a covered raised area at the back, lots of space. Banbury’s oldest pub and I have to say a pub which holds some serious character. Lots of locals and very well placed within the town centre. I have been in here previously and never got the best vibe, but clearly it has changed over the last 18 months and I’m really glad I popped back in and a pub I’ll definitely return to more regularly when in the area.
