We went to Monster Mania Con 57 at The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks PA yesterday and we all had a blast! My sister meant Judith Anna Roberts from Dead Silence who plays Mary Shaw! She loved meeting her! Also at the time we went to go see her there was no line! I’m a big fan of Dead Silence too! She meant her because she’s in her favorite show NOS4A2 and she also loves Dead Silence! My sister loves NOS4A2! I didn’t end up meeting anyone because I was way too nervous and I didn’t want to get a Crohn’s Disease flare up due to stress. It was already stressful enough for me coming to a convention because there’s a lot of people. I do love going to horror conventions! It’s always the best time! My sister did get an autograph from her. Overall we all had a great time! We come really just for the vendors because we love buying from the small businesses and shops but we sometimes do meet a celeb if there is a little line or no wait. My sister did want to meet Jamie Kennedy but it was way too long a line so we didn’t. We weren’t really planning on it because we knew that line would be long. I get excited to go because I love the vendors! Definitely if you ever get the chance go to Monster Mania Con It’s amazing! We like it the best at the convention center because it’s nice and spaced out! The hotel ones don’t have much walking space so we love the convention center the best! We always get the advance hour early show tickets so we can look at the vendors early and because theres a little less people in the beginning. I’m very cautious of germs so I don’t like to be around a lot of people because I can catch illnesses easier with the medicine I’m on. I wore a mask when it started to get pretty crowded to be safe. We didn’t go to any panels because they were too late in the day for us. We get there early so we were done by like 11:30 so like about lunch time. My sister is wearing her Fright Night Part 2 shirt from @toxic_coffin She loves this shirt so much! Dead Silence(2007) Re-Review I still believe this is an underrated movie. At least it doesn't get talked about enough. When I saw this movie was getting a 4k scream factory release I was so excited. I pre-ordered it immediately. A killer ventriloquist that can steal your voice and take over her dummies! Plus a very cool-looking Dummy named Billy for the poster! Sign me up. James Wan who did the first Saw movie makes this and yes it shows and yes some of it didn't date well but I'm glad he did. He did well with the mystery portion of it and some of those amazing transitions. Also of course when everything is revealed at the end of the mystery all the flashbacks and things that went under the audience's noses are still a great time. The best scene though is still the flashback when Mary Shaw is performing with Billy. That or when Jamie just got his car after burying Billy and he supposedly was running around is still creepy. Finally, it has one of my favorite movie posters ever which I briefly mentioned above. It's so damn cool. I didn't care for the scream factory art is too much but it's still a nice piece. Overall I still love this movie and I wanted to cover it again for the scream factory release. The best Death Wish remake that we could ever ask for about a well off family man (Kevin Bacon) going after the violent inner city gang that killed his son at a gas station when the law fails to bring the killer to justice. One of the most intense vigilante/revenge dramas and probably the most emotionally charged movie that James Wan has ever made. 🌑 Eraserhead, 1977 🌑 🎞 So a little about the plot … Henry Spencer tries to survive his industrial environment, his angry girlfriend, and the unbearable screams of his newly born mutant child. 🎞 So what did I think? This is such a captivating and equally bizarre film that I never know quite how to describe the feelings that I have towards it during and after. Do I fully understand what this film is about? Nope. There are strong themes of Parenthood and blatant symbolism throughout, although its clearly a piece to be interpreted by each individual viewer. It’s creepy from start to finish and makes for such a disturbing watch. The constant white noise in the background makes it a difficult film to relax when watching. This partnered with Polaroid opposite, silent scenes are quite unnerving. This features some grotesque practical effects which still hold the test of time now. I don't care if you love that or hate that, you can't take away that simple fact. Eraserhead is his masterpiece, the most original and personal film ever created by any film maker. It's as far from the forgettable fluff of mainstream Hollywood as you can get, and as weird as it is, it strikes a chord deep in the human mind. I don't think anyone could experience this film without being deep thinking. David Lynch pulled out all the stops to make Eraserhead as perfect as any film can be, and it shows. It is a great work of art in its own right. The characters and setting are unforgettable, and are as strange as they are familiar. The flow of the story is slow, but steadily builds with the fury of a small speedy. The film walks a fling somewhere between the reality of the world we know, only David Lynch knows for sure. Lynch is a fine example of a film maker who isn't afraid to take huge risks. That's how masterpieces are made.
