I've watched this film #judgmentatnuremberg so many times and I will never accept that #judygarland was not so much more lauded in her lifetime. She (and Montgomery Clift) break my heart every time.

U probably know the story or can imagine what's it about so let me just say it is amazing. 3 hours long but u don't feel the length at all. If I was to choose the best performances it would be rather impossible but #montgomeryclift made the strongest impression on me and he's only in one scene but what a scene! Then there's #burtlancaster with such a dignity in such a undignify role and #marlenedietrich ! She's very very impressive with her fighting for a lost cause. Some examples include: - Fred Astaire: he came out of retirement to work with Judy on ‘Easter Parade’. - Vincente Minnelli: he was ultimately unable to direct ‘Easter Parade’, but he did want to direct it and he shot some early footage including Judy’s deleted number “Mr Monotony”. - Gene Kelly: he disliked ‘Summer Stock’, thinking it was a weak film, but he did it for Judy’s sake. - George Cukor: he refused to direct the 1937 of ‘A Star is Born’ because it was too similar to his own 1932 film ‘What Price Hollywood?’, but he directed Judy’s version of the film because he wanted to work with her. - Montgomery Clift: he appeared in ‘Judgment at Nuremberg’. I rewatched Judgement at Nuremberg (1961, directed by Stanley Kramer) after a long time. And I was again amazed. It’s an epic courtroom drama with a superb cast, screenplay and direction. As a lawyer and fan of history, the movie is fascinating for me. Nonetheless, for the important matters that it is about, everybody should watch it. به تازگی اوپنهایمر رو دیدم و به نظرم فیلم خوبی بود. همیشه نولان رو کارگردان اورریتدی میدونم و به نظرم شاید گاها زیادی توجه اطرافشه که البته کاملا قابل درکه. خب به هر صورت فیلم هاش عموما یک استاندارد نسبی ای دارن و خب دست رو موضوعات خوبی و مخاطب پسندی هم میذاره. اما اوپنهایمر رو بعد از اینسپشن بهترین فیلمش میدونم. یک فیلم سه ساعته ی دیالوگ محور با موسیقی و کارگردانی خوب که البته جهت گیری سیاسی خاصی هم نداشت و سعی در توضیح واقعیت داشت. اما الان میخوام یک کوچولو راجب بخش دادگاه استراوس صحبت کنم که به نظرم یک پتانسیل واقعا هدر شده است، و باید اضافه هم بکنم که حقیقتا تمجید های وحشتناک از بازی رابرت داونی جونیور هم درک نمیکنم. چرا اش رو الان براتون توضیح میدم. دادگاه استراوس میتونست یکی از نقاط قوت فیلم باشه اگر پرداخت خوبی میداشت. در تمام طول تماشای بخش دادگاه استراوس اثر جاودانه ی " دادگاه نورمبرگ " تو ذهنممیگذشت و پیش خودم میگفتم " این کجا و آن کجا " دادگاه استراوس هرگز دراماتیزه نمیشه و باعث نمیشه منِ مخاطب اهمیتی به ماجرای استراوس بدم. چرا که شخص خود استراوس هرگز سمپاتی ایجاد نمیکنه. شمارو ارجاع میدم به بخش شهادت آقای پیترسون با بازی شاهکار مانتگامری کلیفت و ماکسیمیلیان شل توی " دادگاه نورمبرگ " یکحضور پنج دقیقه ای که با حرکات شاهکار دوربین و بازی خارق العاده اش شمارو میخکوب میکنه و چنان سمپاتی ای ایجاد میکنه که از اعماق قلبتون و وجودتون برای آقای پیترسون فشرده میشه. برای همین هرگز نمیتونم بگم رابرت داونی جونیور بازی منحصر به فردی ارائه داده چون تک تک بازی های دادگاه نورمبرگ چنان موقعیتی رو در ذهنم ساختن که نا خودآگاه وقتی مقایسه ای صورت میگیره میفهمم چقدر استراوس تو برقرای حس نا توانه. صد البته نمیشه مشکلات بخش دادگاه توی اوپنهایمر رو گردن رابرت داونی جونیور انداخت چرا که میگم به طور کل روند قصه، حرکت دوربین و شخصیت پردازی استراوس و تمام شاهد هایی که شهادت میدن ( حتی لحظه ی به ظاهر دراماتیک حضور دکتر هیل ) برای من اهمیتی ندارن و کاملا ناتوانن در ساخت و پرداخت یک لحظه ی دراماتیک. در نهایت به شما پیشنهاد میکنم دادگاه نورمبرگ رو ببینید و این قصه ی دیوانه وار رو از دست ندید. #judgmentatnuremberg #oppenheimer #christophernolan #اوپنهایمر #دادگاه_نورنبرگ #دادگاه_نورمبرگ #کریستوفر_نولان #سینمای_کلاسیک

Schon vor der Schule las er ganze Bücher, entschied sich nach dem Abschluss zum Jurastudium, promovierte in Politikwissenschaften und wurde mit 22 Jahren Dozent. 1937 fuhr er für einige Wochen mit dem Rad durch Deutschland und filmte dabei die Lager der Hitlerjugend. Für ihn als liberalen Waffengegner eine prägende Erfahrung. Immer im Studententheater aktiv, begann er daraufhin beim Radio zu arbeiten, drehte mit 33 Jahren seinen ersten Film und wurde gleich für einen Oscar nominiert. Bösewichte und zwiespältige Charaktere lagen ihm, dem eigentlich stillen Mann, besonders. Nach dem Motto:„Du bist immer dann am besten, wenn’s dir eigentlich egal ist“, lebte er lieber zurückgezogen mit Frau und Tochter auf seiner Ranch, während Hollywood ihn immer wieder gern besetzte. Heute, am 26. Dezember 1914, wurde Richard Widmark geboren. This past September, I got the chance to take a special trip to Europe with my Dad and younger brother and tour famous historical sites associated with World War II. Right before leaving, I made a list of WW2 related films I wanted to view or revisit, and at the top of my list was director Stanley Kramer’s 1961 historical courtroom drama, Judgment at Nuremberg. Featuring a ensemble cast stacked with everyone from Spencer Tracy to Burt Lancaster, Marlene Dietrich to William Shatner, Judy Garland to Montgomery Clift, the film dramatizes the landmark Nuremberg trials conducted by the allied forces in the aftermath of the war in Europe. The film won Maximilian Schell the Oscar for Best Actor that year, as well as Best Adapted Screenplay, and was nominated for an additional 9 Academy Awards. Though it boasts a long running time of nearly 3 hours, I cannot recommend this film enough, if for no other reason than to hear Spencer Tracy, playing presiding judge Dan Haywood, deliver in his closing remarks one of the best monologues I think has ever been written for an actor. Standing in the real Courtroom 600 in the Nuremberg Palace of Justice, (remarkably recreated by the art directors for the film), was an emotional moment to say the least.
