HEKATES TORCH, incense burner. Quenched in Wolfbane, henbane, belladonna, and rhododendron honey infused oil in a cast iron cauldron filled with oil mixed with @rosariumblends Hekate annointing oil. The bowl of the torch is stomped with the Stropholos. The bowl is brass brushed and each is forged uniquely with its own unique look and twists in the metal. This one I cut V likes down two sides giving a double vein twist that I feel turned out just beautifully. These are incense burners though in the photos you can see I have filmed it as a torch. I use acetone for the photos. One could use other fuels, but ultimately they are sold as an incense burner that is stabbed into the ground or a peice of wood. The stabby end of the torch is very sharp. So sharp that I have in the past stabbed through my hands accidently leaving me u able to work for several weeks as the wounds healed. The pointed tips are case hardened so that they can take the abuse of being stabbed into the ground and or wood repeatedly. I had a small empty space on my embroidery journal from 2020. So I filled it with crosses to honor those who crossed over this year during our time of great loss from the covid pandemic. Working with my hands is the greatest therapy. There’s a silent reckoning that saturates my being with each stitch. I felt nostalgic today, so I visited a dear old friend. The Mythic Tarot was not my very first deck, but it was the one that taught me to read the cards like I read a story book, and it was the deck I used when I read for another person for the very first time. Mullein, Verbascum thapsus~ Today we were out on a walk and randomly found a hillside of Mullein! I dont know why but I have been noticing it growing EVERYWHERE this year!I was first given a beeswax mullein candle during the Frst annual @viridisgenii Symposium, by my friend Anna from @brownbottlefarm . Around that time I also received a download from Hekate to use these in ritual as her torches. Mullein has since been harvested annually to make torches for Hekate which we ritually make on the night of Hekates Crossroads.
