Review: So This is Love: A Twisted Tale by Elizabeth Lim The premise of all of the twisted tail books is that they take a Disney animated film and they twist elements of the story in a what type of scenario. This one is about Cinderella. And the spin is what if Cinderella never tried on the glass slipper. Now the writing was really good. Elizabeth Lim is definitely a good writer. However, unfortunately, this one has been my least favourite of the twisted tale books so far, it had a little bit of magic, but it was more persecution of magical people. The book was never signed by Marc Davis, as he passed away in 2000, before the book was published. His wife Alice Davis (who passed in 2022) has signed it at the top. She played a huge roll in making costumes for Its a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean, and more! She was 85 when this book released. She was honored with the Disney Legend Award in 2004! @don.hahn Also signed the book. He was a contributing writer, and has done some amazing things in the world of Disney Films! Just finished ✨ Tales of Light and Life ✨ and am so ready to jump into Phase 3 of The High Republic! I also want to give a quick shout-out to @charlesdsoule. Back in early 2021, while we were all very much still in the middle of the pandemic and before everything had started opening back up, he put up an offer on his website to receive an autographed book plate to accompany the start of The High Republic series for only a few bucks. I had the pleasure of getting to talk to him about this back in February at @megaconorlando. He said he did it because he had missed getting to go to cons and other events where he could actually interact with us, the fans. He figured that this was a decent way to bridge that gap and still do something for his fans. The best part is that he didn't just sign his name and move on. He also wrote quotes from THR and doodled little lightsabers, which really made each one unique (and showed off some serious artistic skills 😂). I keep this book plate in every High Republic book or comic book that I read as my bookmark. I know I should probably have it framed or displayed on a shelf, but it just makes me too happy every time I open whatever book that I'm currently on. It reminds me of a time where we all needed some light in our lives, and then came "Light of the Jedi" . 💫"This is Jedi Master Avar Kriss. Finished!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I thoroughly enjoy this series but this particular one felt a little lackluster to me but I did really enjoy the backstory for Gothel. It could also be that it’s been over a year since I finished the previous book and it did take me a bit to get back into the world. Either way, I do always recommend this series for people who love Disney and in particular Disney Villains. Now it’s time to move on to the next book in this series, since I’m trying to catch up by the time my preorder for the newest book arrives at the end of July, but first I think I’ll move on to another one of my current reads.
