High Republic Customs Part 15: Marchion Ro, Baron Boolan, Ghirra Starros, and General Viess The Ministers are an interesting evolution from the Tempest Runners. I'm not sure I'm entirely into it since it seems so antithetical to the Nihil, but I guess that is all part of Ghirra's attempts to legitimize them. Anyways, I've been sitting on this unmasked Marchion for a while and I've finally made the Ministers to go along with him. Boolan turned out pretty well, but I'm not sure I've fully captured how much of a weird little freak he is. Ghirra's pretty simple, but I think it's good. And Viess. She's definitely the wrong color and definitely should be purple. But I don't have a purple cape or hood, so I went with dark red. Avar Kriss Cosplay: Progress Update This is what I have so far: Boots & pants- Amazon Hilt- @super3dprinter Sleeveless Tunic- @farfarawayoutfitters Everything else- @sewmuchlife I know the shoulder pieces aren’t attached right. I pinned them temporarily. I also need to make the sleeveless tunic shorter so it will meet the regs for RL. I’m deciding if I need to get different pants so they match the beautiful long sleeve tunic Marie made me. I’m now halfway to having the full cosplay & being able to apply for @officialrebellegion ! Just finished ✨ Tales of Light and Life ✨ and am so ready to jump into Phase 3 of The High Republic! I also want to give a quick shout-out to @charlesdsoule. Back in early 2021, while we were all very much still in the middle of the pandemic and before everything had started opening back up, he put up an offer on his website to receive an autographed book plate to accompany the start of The High Republic series for only a few bucks. I had the pleasure of getting to talk to him about this back in February at @megaconorlando. He said he did it because he had missed getting to go to cons and other events where he could actually interact with us, the fans. He figured that this was a decent way to bridge that gap and still do something for his fans. The best part is that he didn't just sign his name and move on. He also wrote quotes from THR and doodled little lightsabers, which really made each one unique (and showed off some serious artistic skills 😂). I keep this book plate in every High Republic book or comic book that I read as my bookmark. I know I should probably have it framed or displayed on a shelf, but it just makes me too happy every time I open whatever book that I'm currently on. It reminds me of a time where we all needed some light in our lives, and then came "Light of the Jedi" . 💫"This is Jedi Master Avar Kriss. Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Die Hohe Republik: Flucht von Valo von Daniel José Older & Alyssa Wong Der Inhalt: Nach den Ereignissen von „Mitternachtshorizont“ ist Padawan Ram Jomaram auf seinen Heimatplaneten Valo zurückgekehrt, wo er als Vigilant „Der Scharlachrote Schädel“ alles versucht um die Nihil-Besatzung zu behindern. Doch ausgerechnet dabei laufen ihm drei Jünglinge in die Arme, die ebenfalls ihre Heimat retten möchten sowie eine abtrünnige Einheimische, die sich scheinbar den Besatzern angeschlossen hat...Unterdessen möchte sich Jung-Pirat Zyle Keem beweisen. Xiese Möglichkeit scheint gekommen, als xier von einem abgestürzten Raumschiff mit allerhand medizinischer Ausrüstung auf Valo hört... Meine Meinung: Wie schon „Pfad der Täuschung“ funktioniert auch dieses Gemeinschaftswerk sehr gut. Older und Wong gelingt es eine leicht zugängliche Geschichte zu schreiben, die so für eine jüngere Leserschaft gedacht ist. Vieles geht hier leichtherziger und humorvoller zu, was gut zusammenpasst mit den zahlreichen Verbindungen zu Olders Comicreihe „High Republic Adventures“. Aufmerksame Leser der vorherigen Werke werden definitiv belohnt. Auch an schwerwiegendere Themen wie Liebe oder Vertrauen unter Freunden trauen sich die Autoren hier heran. Die neuen Figuren sind eingängig und liebenswert, allen voran Pirat Zyle Keem mit xieser locker-lässigen Art. Die Verbindung zwischen „Nihil-Überläuferin“ Driggit und den drei Jünglingen regt zum Nachdenken an, während der sonst eher schüchterne Ram mit den Jedi-Kindern stark gefordert wird. Das lässt allen Charakteren guten Raum zur Entwicklung. Fazit: Ein einfach zu lesendes Buch mit Herz und Humor - ein guter Einstieg in die Dritte Phase. ✨️ May the 4th be with you! ✨️ This year, I've been reading some Star Wars books & comics, as I finally continued on with the High Republic stuff. It's been fun, I read lot of phase 1 (Midnight Horizon, Mission to Disaster, High Republic Adventures are still left along with some stuff might pick up if I feel like it). This era explores the Jedi order and powers in ways that had never really been done before and I'm intrigued what will phase 3 bring. Phase 2 seems interesting and don't want to skip it, but as it's set in a much earlier time period, phase 3 with all the familiar characters seems more exciting. Speaking of, the High Republic introduced many great ones. My favourites are probably Elzar Mann, Vernestra Roh, Reath Silas and Avar Kriss but there are so many awesome characters to choose from. Lightsaber Review - Lantana (Gold) From ES Sabers, this stunning hilt evokes High Republic sensiblities and the opulence of the time. Gold inlays circle and cross the smooth silver hilt that is topped by a slightly slanted and windowed emitter and based with a gold, ridged pommel. The illuminated button shows white under the symbol of the Galatic Republic, and the charge port is housed in gold to blend neatly into the design. Overall, she is a stunning saber to look at. Long, elegant lines that are well machined and give good hand indexing when moving the saber around. The ringed section under the emitter gives good grip, similarly to the pommel's vertical grooves. Avar Kriss on Naboo ✨ I recently had a wonderful trip to Naples, Italy! When researching some fun activities to do when there I realized that the Royal Palace of Caserta, where the interior shots of the Theed Royal Palace on Naboo were filmed for the Phantom Menace, was close to where we were staying! 😲 I had to seize the opportunity and brought Avar's saber with me to match the scene of @charlesdsoule's Light of the Jedi!
