Each week seemingly gets easier on a GLP1 (I hope I don’t jinx myself there!) This past week came with few side effects, I had a bit of exhaustion Sunday/Monday but otherwise it was smooth sailing. I do need to prioritize my water intake though. I haven’t tracked any calories/macros since April 24 and I’ve still managed to lose weight, it’s such a freeing feeling. I do weigh some food items on occasion so I don’t overeat but I’m starting to truly get that sense of fullness and my body just says “stop eating, you’re full!” And I stop. I push away the plate. Headed into week 12! It’s hard to believe I’ve been consistently losing weight for 11 straight weeks (give or take some fluctuations). Something I learned this past week for myself is that the stomach as an injection site just doesn’t work well for me. I felt like I didn’t take the medication at all. My eat & repeat consists of easy and delicious life cuisine meals for lunch, all the frozen chicken types for quick air frying, and all the veggies. I’m looking forward to some fresh seasonal fruit in the coming months! I start my days with a quad espresso, 1 tbs syrup and 2 tbs half & half, plus my collagen water; lunch is almost always a chicken burrito bowl from Costco or life cuisine meal, an afternoon snack of a banana & pb or protein shake. Dinner is a rotation of what you see here, and on occasion we enjoy pizza or steak. And dessert, if I’m feeling up to it, is a built bar! This week I enjoyed Costco lemon blueberry bread in moderation and it was the strangest thing - 1 piece a day, and no desire to eat the entire loaf in a sitting. 🤯 I haven’t denied myself anything on this journey. I’ve enjoyed ice cream and cake and candy and it’s just in moderation, something I feel so completely unfamiliar with while eating healthy. Finally the scale didn’t play silly tricks on me this week! I’m down 10.4 lbs overall since the start of my Biggest Loser challenge, 7 weeks ago. Some days I don’t think I should give the glp1 any credit for my progress but then on the flip side I realize I most likely would have threw in the towel by this point if it weren’t for the medication. Week 5 - I honestly couldn’t tell you the reason behind the gain. I stayed on track, weighed, measured and tracked my macros and did some walking. 🤷♀️ Since I increased my dose I decided to take my injection at night, in case of any side effects; I had a headache a good part of the next day but otherwise was fine. I had literally JUST started Ozempic only weeks before and we were applying for our passports to have our destination wedding in Jamaica the next year. The fist picture they took wasn’t right and we didn’t find out until it was rejected by the government. I went in and took a new photo about a month later to send in again. I was looking for ANY sign of loss since I had lost about 15ish pounds at that point.
