British Scandal - The Canoe Con From @wonderymedia Season Highlight ✨ I absolutely adore British Scandal. British Scandal tells the tales of our chequered history - Alice Levine and Matt Forde host a mini-series per storyline. The hosts take it in turns to tell these stories, giving their acting turns in partly dramatised accounts. Each mini-series ends with an interview with an expert or a witness to that season’s scandal. The Canoe Con is the story of John and Anne Darwin. Brits may remember hearing in 2007 that John (who had gone missing whilst canoeing in 2002) had “returned from the dead”. I won’t tell the story here, because Matt Forde does a more-than fine job of it during 3 episodes, each of about 45 minutes. In the fourth episode Matt and Alice are joined by Tony Hutchinson, the Superintendent who led the police investigation into John and Anne Darwin. This story is almost unbelievable and it’s an interesting topic from British Scandal as it’s one of their first stories that’s not about someone in a position of power. I’m always excited for new seasons of British Scandal to be released (As you might know, I’m a binger - so I wait for a full season to be ready before I dive in). A long slog from Reims to Gap today. 400 miles on the autoroute but then a fabulous final 50 miles on the N85 Route Napoleon. I have recently discovered this fantastic podcast @wonderymedia hosted by @thisisalicelevine and Matt Forde. The stories are dramatically relayed making the episodes a pleasure to listen to. I have just finished all four episodes about the life of Oscar Wilde. These particular episodes kept me totally captivated while I walked/ran for miles! In this particular series, the first three episodes were in dramatised story form, and the fourth episode was an interview with Merlin Holland, Oscar Wilde’s grandson. Absolutely fascinating. Three excellent podcasts today. The first series is a six episode show that I started Friday about a cop whose boyfriend was an armed robber but she didn't know this and her cop friends don't believe her. Based on a true story and very well done. The producers recommended another show called British Scandal. Today's episode was sort of the origin story of Prince Charles and Camille. I don't guess that I've heard their side of the story. Not normally my cup of so called tea but it was intriguing. Finally, I am in the middle of a four part series on the same show about the death of one of the Rolling Stones. I didn't even know this guy existed. I didn't know the Stones started as a blues band or that Lennon helped with their first song.
