Today i got to go to a place ive read about and wanted to visit since i was a kid. I got to run around the pyramids and dance and laugh and cry at the beauty of it all and we were there early in the morning so we were pretty much alone with the sphinx. I got to do all of this with the person i love. Running through my mind all day was the fact that here in Giza I am just two hundred miles away from Gaza. I kept thinking of this photo of Reem, a little girl who was killed by a bomb paid for with my tax dollars just 200 miles away from me. She visited this place with her loved ones and she maybe danced and explored and laughed the same way i did today. It feels so insane to go about my life and be happy and joyful and fulfill dreams and goals while my tax dollars are stealing lives, right there. 200 miles away. I’ve been watching movies with my mom since I was a child when she and I would sit and watch the Classics together. She’s taught me so much about film and actors. Today we upgraded to the reclining seat theater and watched “Killers of the Flower Moon”. Incredible! Authentic method acting, as well as beautiful cinematography. Such a gripping movie. [George hits tree and falls down] ... he is unconscious.” - The Narrator Hannah’s rating: 8 Connor’s rating: 7 Hannah’s review: I would actually rate this higher, but that would purely be based on nostalgia. Whenever I watch this film it just makes me feel good. George of the Jungle is just fun and silly, and definitely made me laugh out loud at points. Brendan Fraser and Leslie Mann have amazing chemistry as the spoof of Tarzan and Jane, and the animals are just brilliant in it. George has a pet elephant that plays fetch, and a talking Gorilla is his best friend (voiced by John Cleese) - what more could you want from a film. I wish they brought the original actors back for the 2nd film, but alas The Mummy happened!!! Connor’s review: George of the Jungle is a very fun watch. The comedy still holds up today, and is something that can be appreciated amongst all ages. Again, Brendan Frasier as the lead is excellent, portraying a child like innocence, but also being super charasmatic. The music is brilliant, and supports the movie well. Specifically, the theme song, which is iconic. The only thing I'd say is that although I enjoyed it, It never made me burst out in laughter, more just a slight chuckle. I do think it's good, but when I think of great comedies or great family films, this doesn't instantly spring out to me. D'Aronofsky'nin tek gayesi insan ayarlarını bozmak ya da insan ayarlarını bozan birşey yakaladı mı onu kendi diline çevirmek. Buna bir kere daha şahit oldum. Filmden çok bir tiyatro oyunu olarak nasıl izlemek istedim. Bu filmi de Aronofsky dışında biri çekseydi eline yüzüne bulaştırırdı diye düşünüyorum. Tabi esas alkışı Samuel D. Hunter haketse de (karakterini ağaçtan atanlardan)Aronofsky'de oyunculuk yönetimiyle gözlerimizi doldurmayı başardı. Gözlerimizi; doyurdu ve yaşlarla doldurdu. Dramatik yapısı güçlü ve çok samimi bir film. Tiyatro oyunu olduğu için mekan zenginliği yok ama zenginlik ışıkla verilmiş. Muazzam karakterler ve tatlı bir örüntü. Filmin ilk videoları ciktiginda, ne acayip makyaj D'Aranofsky birşeylerin peşinde ama neden Fraser'i oynattı diye düşünmüştüm. Oyunculuğu hafif gelirdi, tükürdüğümü yaladım (düşüncemde) Fraser'in yüzünden karakterin iyimserliği akıyor. Ama yine ve yine tiyatro oyununu izleme isteği geçti içimden.. Din, ahlak, iyilik, kötülük, samimiyet..vb iğdiş edilmesi gereken tüm konuları ayrıntılarda eşelemiş.
