Bluebells caught on my way home. Bluebells are said to be associated with fairies, especially older woodlands where fairies were said to inhabit. The fairies would use the flowers for their goblets or hats and should anyone hear their tinkling, they would only be able to speak the truth! However, the tinkling of bluebells is also said to curse whoever hears them with a visitation from a bad fairy and death will follow shortly after their visit! If that wasnโt bad enough, there is also the belief that if you pick one, you will become pixie-led and be lost wandering forever! Although, in the Language of Flowers, bluebells represent โconstancyโ, which is nice as they always return every year. So, remember, you can admire the bluebell as theyโre certainly pretty. A much needed bluebell break from potting and crafting. I've been checking these woods for a few weeks and finally caught all the bluebells out! I even found a cool white bluebell. Bluebell folklore and history is pretty incredible too. They're often thought to have been linked to the Fae or even the devil so the flowers shouldn't be picked and should be respected. BLUEBELLS ๐๐๐ . We made bluebells! Peeling the bark from some hazel, using all the blues and purples to colour a flower shaped card and using wool and twine attached a real life tinkling bell too. . English bluebells are sweet smelling flowers that only grow in spring time and almost half the world's bluebells are found in the UK! . We are so lucky our magical base camp is covered in them every Spring time and ancient folklore states that when bluebells are in the woods fairies are about so our bluebell filled sessions are all about making fairy potions and writing letters and drawing them pictures AND collecting tiny fairy treasure to leave at our fairy door. . But if bluebells get trampled on or broken it can takes 5 years for them to grow back. So we tread very carefully. . You just want to hope you never hear a real bluebell tinkle as this is a VERY bad omen! Eeekk! . So when you spy a bluebell look out for a fairy, there just may be one about!

I know they are called bluebells but does anyone else think they are more purple in colour? When I was growing up my favourite book was 'The magic faraway tree' by Enid Blyton. I loved getting lost in that magical woodland and was instantly enchanted by it all. That is how I feel when I walk through woods like this, I am transported into a fairylandโจ With this iconic dainty flower comes a lot of folklore.
