Maibock, Brauerei Rittmayer Stil: heller Bock Alkohol: 6,8 % Vol. Heute gibt's den nächsten Maibock - dieses Exemplar kommt aus der Brauerei Rittmayer in Hallerndorf und das frischgrüne Etikett wird von einem gehörnten Bock geziert, der - wie ihr wisst - nichts mit der Stadt Einbeck zu tun hat.🐏😉 Als am letzten Wochenende das Streetfood-Festival Saarbrücken stattfand, schnappten wir uns kurzerhand den Bock, um ihn dort zu leckerem Essen zu verkosten. Davon gab es richtig viel, nun aber erstmal zum Bier: Der Bock ist bernsteinfarben, opalisierend und hat leuchtend orangefarbene Lichtreflexe. Die Schaumkrone ist cremeweiß und feinporig mit größeren Einschlüssen, außerdem hoch und sehr stabil. In die Nase steigen malzige Noten von Getreide und Karamell sowie Hopfennoten von gelben Früchten, Gras und Zitrone. Der Bock hat eine angenehme, mittlere Rezenz und einen schönen Körper. Im Antrunk ist er recht süß, was aber schnell durch den Hopfen gekontert wird - einerseits durch eine angenehme Bittere und andererseits durch den erfrischenden und leicht säuerlichen Eindruck, den die Zitrusnoten hervorrufen. Retronasal überwiegt ein Bananenaroma unter den gelben Früchten und schiebt die Getreidenoten in den Hintergrund. Der Abgang ist wärmend - das Bier macht keine Anstalten, seinen Alkoholgehalt zu verstecken. Ein Hoch auf die Bockbierzeit! 🎉 Happy belated birthday to one of my favourite breweries, @bellwoodsbeer ! 🥳 🔔 I recently celebrated Bellwoods’ 12th anniversary at their Motley Cru Day event hosted by @bar_lupulus in Ottawa, where they released the 2024 edition of their birthday beer, also called Motley Cru. I even have the awesome t-shirt to prove it! 💀 🍷 As you can see, I not only got my hands on their 2024 Wild Ale Blend with alphonso mangos (along with the matching chalice), but I got a fresh bottle of the 2023 version of Motley Cru with raspberries and cab franc grapes too. 🛢️ This gave me the opportunity to do my first vertical tasting/comparison since I began cellaring beers last year and Motley Cru was one of my first! I’ve been very excited to begin trying and comparing these aged beers with new versions, and this feels like the perfect place to start. 🙂 🍺 Like the 11 previous anniversary beers that Bellwoods released in celebration of another year of quality, the 2024 edition of Motley Cru is a blend consisting of oak-aged beer that was matured for over a year. Specifically, it’s a blend of Spontaneous Wild Ales that were conditioned on alphonso mangoes, which resulted in a bright, fruity and juicy beer that resembles mango orange juice. 🥭 In short, it’s delightful! — and, unlike the 2023 version (both in new and aged forms), it isn’t too sour or acidic. In this case, the acidity almost seems as though it’s naturally occurring in the fruit. 🍻 The 2023 version was already aged in oak for 18 months prior to sale, but I wanted to give it another 12 months to see how it would change. There isn’t a large difference, to be honest, and the differences are those that are typically expected from additional aging: it becomes slightly smoother, oakier, more vinous, less acidic and less sour. In spite of these changes, I don’t necessarily prefer the new beer or the aged one. There are different pros and cons for both, but overall I enjoyed them roughly the same. ☀️😌☀️😌☀️ Harmoniously from @everywherebeerco 🚶 DDH DIPA brewed w/ Citra, Nectaron & Riwaka clocking in at 8.2% ABV🥗 Let’s dig into a young brewery that have been making waves in Orange, Ca🌊🍊 This was the first can I had from them a couple months ago, the other cans didn’t make it to a post because I conducted research with no picture😅 The few cans I did have I really enjoyed, this shot was taken during golden hour but you can still see how delectable that haze looks🤤 Juicy, crispy, refreshing, easy drinking, superb blend of hops & proper amount of bitterness, I might have to take a trip to Orange right now🍻🏃🥵

🍺 Beer Tasting Review 🍺 Just had a delightful experience with the Nitro Irish Cream Ale Draught called Wexford Irish Cream Ale by Greene King/Morland Brewery! 🍻 This amber hazy beer caught my eye with its mesmerizing nitro dispersement, putting on quite a show in the glass. Truly a sight to behold! 👀 The aroma of this brew carries the essence of hard water and toasted malts, creating a pleasant and inviting scent. 🌾 As I took my first sip, the taste followed the nose, delivering notes of toffee and caramel. Absolutely delicious! The combination of flavors was truly a treat for the taste buds. 😋 The thick cream top on this beer was simply amazing. It added a rich and velvety mouthfeel. The body of the beer had very little to almost no carbonation, giving it a smooth and almost creamy texture.
