Denna Majbock från Ängöl klockar in på 6,8% och är jäst extra kallt och långlagrad i tank. Som sig bör är detta lageröl brödigt med inslag av både örter, citrus och en viss honungssötma. I många fall rycker jag Bocköl blir för söta, men detta öl balanseras upp bra med en tydlig beska. In many cases I wince Bock beers are too sweet, but this beer is balanced well with a clear bitterness. Une très légère effervescence est visible. • Olfactif : Le nez est fruité, avec des arômes de fruits exotiques (comme la mangue), ainsi que de fruits à chaire jaune (pêche, abricot..) Des notes subtilement florales se dévoilent en fond, ainsi que d'autres, plus vertes et résineuses. • Gustatif : En bouche, ça reste très fruité, avec toujours les fruits jaunes comme saveurs, mais on retrouvre aussi ces notes agréablement résineuses, vertes et herbacées. La finale se fait mi-verte, mi-fruitée, avec une sécheresse très légère. Monday, May 6: @truehistorybrewing 'Vienna Classic', a historical Vienna lager. Brewed using a traditional malt with Czech lineage and a triple(!) decoction mash, this beer is so subtle and understated and fantastic. BLIZZARD OF '67 // TIPA // 10.0% ABV // @hopbutcher HOPS // CITRA, MOSAIC, EL DORADO & EKUANOT UNTAPPD RATING // 4.31 HEDGEY'S RATING // 4.75 📦 @tremblingmad This poured like a milky Orange snow globe! 😅 I have had many a beer with sediment, but Blizzard of 67 took the piss, with the amount it was kicking out. I've genuinely used a fork, for mixing this bad boy up 🤣 Quickly moving past the sediment avalanche, this TIPA is packing all kinds of delicious Tropical goodness & is all there in waves to be enjoyed @hopbutcher are quickly becoming one of my favourite US breweries. Over the past year, I have tried their IPA's, DIPA's & TIPA's that I could get my grubby little Yorkshire mitts on & I have not been disappointed. Safe to say, I am leaning heavily towards the TIPA's being my favourites style. Purely because the ABV has been MIA & that is always fun! 😂🍻 I quickly picked out sweet Pineapple, Mangoes & soft Honeydew Melon notes. As it warmed, Berries, Papaya & Tangerines made an appearance, which only added to the enjoyment of '67 Leading the finish, Grassy notes helped balance this ridiculous tasting TIPA. As I mentioned above... The ABV is MIA 🥴 Cheers! 🍻🇺🇲
Singularity by Lehe brewery, a whopping 18% ABV bourbon barrel aged imperial stout! The best before date in the bottle is 1.4.2022, so I guess this is from the first batch. At least it has been aging for many years and it was so worth the wait! Poured like a deep black motor oil with no head at all. Lots of sweet chocolate syrup, dates and a hint of liquorice on the nose. And when it comes to the taste, this is one of my all time favorites! No rough edges despite the really high ABV, there was almost no sign of alcohol because of the thick and sweet body! Sweet dark chocolate, oak, dates and a wonderful bourbon finish that lingered on my palate for a good while. I paired this beer with Octomore 14.2, and oh boy did those two work well together! I'm glad I had a good friend with me to share this bottle with, because this might have been quite much for me to consume alone...
