🙂 @bakkum_fermentation, BF 30/1/22 Wild Beer Blend - Oloroso 🙂 19/20/21 Wild Ale aged in Oloroso Sherry Soaked Oak for one month with 10% two weeks old beer. Bottled in 22.🙂 Fine balance and good fruity and dry notes from the Oloroso which also adds some oaky and nuttyness to it. For sure a decent experimence and overall good taste. It could easily have aged for longer time to develope more depth and let the oakyness shine more through.🙂

Unfortunately, I couldn’t be at Toer de Geuze this year, but I partially made up for that by drinking a Cantillon lambic at Café Pardaf in Antwerp. Fou’foune version 2023 is a blend of lambics aged 18 to 20 months and macerated with Bergeron Apricots. Fou’Foune is the nickname of François Daronnat, an apricot grower. During an evening with friends at the Rhone and after some delicious wines, he claimed to have the most beautiful and best apricots that are sweet and sour at the same time. The proposal to make a beer from them disappeared as the evening progressed and spirits were clouded. Until some months 300 kg of Bergeron apricots arrived at the door and the promise to make beer from them had to be kept. The result was an apricot lambic that entered the French market in a small quantity. One particularly rotten egg, defiling The Grizzly Paw’s old downtown brewery, finally cracked ten years ago, and just like the fall of Sauron depicted at the beginning of the Lord of the Rings, this ending of evil ushered in a new age, with freedom and creativity once again being allowed to flow not just from the taps, as well as the minds of its once-beleaguered brewers. Brujos Brewing Co. • Trismegistrus 🔥💀🔥 • • (TDH) Triple Hazy IPA {9.6%} • • • When this trio gets together it’s always a sure thing🔥 This bad boy was loaded up and triple dry hopped with Nelson, Nelson Cryo, Nelson Hop Kief, Citra, Citra Cryo, Citra 702, Rakau & Galaxy. The results it’s an uber thick, quaffy, booze laden, hop saturated monster of a beer. Hints of piney resin, blueberry, grapefruit rind, and white grapes. The hops do a good job of masking the booze but they are definetly detectable. Slightly sweet and malty on the finish but I did get to this a tad late. These three get together quite often to do a collab, but they always deliever what the hop heads are looking for.
