The more you look at the cards the more you notice each time. Let the imagery speak to you as little reminders when you’re getting stuck on a card’s meaning. You’ll start to build a visual vocabulary with a variety of ways of seeing each card which will fit into different contexts of the readings you give over time. Certain things in a card might stick out at you for different reasons. Learn to trust your intuition and look to the other cards present if you use spreads to help guide you. I like that Pamela included that glaring face in the Six of Wands because it’s so true to life. There will always be people out there who want to bring you down for no apparent reason, so just remember to keep looking forward and focus on what makes you happy and feeling successful in your own way. This can especially be an issue on social media because it’s so easy to say something rude in a comment rather than to someone’s face. Take a moment to really look at the minor arcana cards. Put them in order from Ace to Ten for each suit and try to see how they connect from one to the next, like a story unfolding in front of you. Compared to the suits I showed in Part 1, these two journeys end rather negatively. Nobody goes through life via the path of just one suit, which is why a mix of suits usually appears during a reading. But is Tarot trying to tell us something with these four journeys? Is there an underlying message? I find it interesting that maybe Tarot is warning us not to focus solely on that creative, fiery wands energy because it will leave you feeling burdened, overwhelmed and in constant need of escape. Or, with the Swords, that if you’re so in your own head that it ultimately causes your own failure. Is Tarot trying to remind us that you will feel success and wealth in different ways if you follow a more grounded, earthy path like I’m the Pentacles. Or maybe that if you have control over your emotions and are available and loving to others, you will end up with love and happiness? Any thoughts? Lay all four suits out in front of you and take a moment to observe. The Fortuna Tarot Opal Omen limited edition is definitely a great deck for advanced readers because it’s full of astrological information. I love reading with it by candlelight because of the lavish holographic foiling on each card, which makes this deck so special. The cardstock is matte and smooth, very pleasant to shuffle (and great for riffle shuffling). The pink edges and the watercolor reversible backs are simply stunning. The guidebook is full of information and everything can be kept in a two piece rigid box that perfectly matches the deck. A true piece of art and you can tell the artist has put her heart and soul into it💜 My favorite major arcana is definitely strenght. It reminds me of the rose 🥀 in the beauty and the beast. Other unique interpretations are: The Seeker (the fool, the one who seeks, our inner compass that pushes us to embark on a new journey), The Lovers (where the mirror is reminding us that our connections and experiences are also a reflection of ourselves) and The Hermit (so much light in this card!). I also love the way some arcanas are illustrated by simple symbols, such as The Chariot, The Hanged One and The High Priestess. I’m not a big fan of the minors, first of all because the suits have been renamed into candles (wands), keys (swords), elixirs (cups) and talismans (penracles), but above all because they are very pipish.
